Test Course, inside or outside?

I'd say to use the outside, just based on tire wear and the fact that you get to draft out there. But everyone else is saying bigger radius, and I'm thinking that the big bank is why you go faster and have less wear. With the big bank, less of the car's power is devoted to turning as the ground is turning the car for you.

use the inside mostly but if there is a car up ahead, i go on the outside like for a bit of slip stream and more speed

and for what ppl were saying earlier, i think that the test course is to unrealistic aswell, i mean it feels to big to be real, when you go around the bends, it seems like it goes on forever, i think its crap and i reckon the straights should be atleast 1km longer to get top speeds.

The fastest way is to use both. Use the inside, then the outisde, then go back to the inside again.

Turn in early. That is important. Start on the inside, then allow your car to run up toward the outside. You should reach the outside of the track about halfway through the corner. When you do that you are effectively at the apex of the imaginary line you are tracing. Then turn back towards the inside, and to get the fastest exit speed you need to have your car in such a position that no steering is necessary, as soon as you possibly can.

This applies mainly to the first corner. At the second corner, it doesn't really matter so much what line you take.

its good for both, and if u keep that up, its better than keeping the inside or ouside line, having a constant speek more than the outside line because ur in a straight line with a few turns, its more consistant

i have to say, on straights, go outside and on the turn, go inside. not really on the inside, but if you look at the track closely, there are tire tracks on the road in which where AI cars follow, and i use that line to maintain my speed.

I always use to outside.

My theory? The computer AI drivers typically use the fastest line in a race. (i.e. they take the apex of almost every corner they drive) So I figure they still are using that same techinique (the fastest line) so I follow them on the outside.

Both turns have a banking which is supposed to reduce the speed loss while turning. I just find that the banking angle on Test Course is too low and therefore unuseful. But be careful ! The inside part of the track also has a kind of inverted banking, which results in the car being tilted on its right hand side.
I just try to stay as close to the inside as possible but away from this inverted banking, which means : on the right of the yellow line.

However, it depends on the car you're driving. As someone said in this thread, if you drive a fully modded Escudo you don't need to bother. But with a stock Mini Cooper it matters.

You've seen computer car taking the apex of a bend? Are you serious? Do you have screenshots?

Every time I see a comp car they just brainlessly use up all the road and run wide all the time. If there was a smiley to describe comp cars' driving style it would be this one

just go drive with escudo
you won't have to worry about outside and inside
LMAO

Ya think? Does putting something in caps make it true? OK then

THE FASTEST LAPS ARE DONE ON THE INSIDE *. And I have evidence.

The evidence

This is the fastest lap posted at GT3 times. Note how the inside of the track is used.

* As I understand it, if the car has downforce, use the inside. No downforce, use the outside.

Nice job decitive Daan!

In test course, do you go faster when you drive on the inside of the curve or outside? The computer players drive on the outside all the time, but you would normally go faster on the inside so I'm not sure.

Hey, I always drive on the outside of the track, on, or a litle bit right of the white stripes.

inside, almost always. It is much easier for me to keep the car down there and if I have a slower car it won't allow cars behind me to draft off of me since the AI ALWAYS takes the upper lane.
