Test drive mode?

Have any GT games ever had a test drive mode? Seems like an obvious option esp when people grind hours to afford to buy a car. Would be nice to be able to take a car for a limited test drive before splashing out.

Not that I know of. You had arcade mode, but I don’t think they featured the full car list.

Test drive sounds like a nice idea.

There's an option in arcade, you may choose from garage cars or from recommended cars, but it's not the whole car list there.

Up to GTS you could copy your save file to a pendrive, buy whatever car you wanted to try it out and, if you didn't like it, copy the save file back to you console.

Now that's not possible, since the save file is not local (in your console).

Great idea so it'll never be implemented.

I also like the idea of rental cars for league events.

I mean I wouldnt buy a car if it had no dash.

Would be very interesting for the multi-million cars, but we never had that in any GT game so I doubt it will ever be a thing in this game and the next installment.

GT prides itself for being "like real life" but only when it suits. You have to pay full price and not test drive it, and if you sell it back within minutes you lose 70% of the value of the car and it never goes up in value. Just like real life...er.

I remember prior to GT5 Prologue's release there were references to a test drive mode:

Shame there isn't one

I'd suppose the closest thing to a test drive mode is when you compete with a car provided to you
