Test Drive Unlimited Lagging problem!

I have just got TDU for PC, and it is lagging like bloody hell! Can someone please tell me how to sort this out! If it helps the PC I'm using is a HP L1706!

The model name you gave is the name of a monitor, not your PC.

From the sounds of it, your PC isn't capable of running it properly. It's quite a demanding game for the PC, as *recommended* you need 2GB of RAM and a decent 256mb video card.

If you don't know how to find out the specs of your computer, right-click on your Desktop > Properties, then select the "Settings" tab. It should say the name of your video card (usually NVIDIA, ATI or Intel).

To find out the rest, go to Start > Control Panel > System. Select the "General" tab, wait a few seconds and all your PC's information should appear.

Tell us what you find, then we'll see if it's ok to run the game.

All this will make sense if you're running Windows XP, though...

I seem to recall pointing out that one of your previous threads had a rubbish title. Do you remember that?

EDIT: And read G.T's post and do what he says, and then compare with the recommended specs on the TDU game box.

Yeah I will. Can I just ask what a ''Rubbish Thread'' title has to do with the game lagging!

If people don't know what your problem is, you're unlikely to get help. There could be people out there that know exactly what your problem is and how to help, but they'll maybe miss the thread as they'll not see the thread because its got a stupid, irrelevent title.

Start menu -> dxdiag

Then click "save all information" and save it. Attach it to a post on GTP and I'll be able to help you.

BTW, as the Desktop we mean right-clicking on this (will look different to your one):

I'm seriously surprised you managed to get on the internet with the knowledge you are exhibiting. Seriously.

I bet he's trolling.
What do you mean I'm trolling. I have got windows XP, and it is very different. I can not find the right thing anywhere. I will look as carefuly as I can though now!

Edit: Here we go. I am pretty sure I have found the name of the monitor and the video card. It says it's a HP L1706 LCD Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 6200SE TurboCache( TM)

P.S: There was a desktop item, so sorry for saying there was'nt one. I did'nt look in the right place.

That isn't really a card for playing games.
You probably don't have enough memory either for playing this game on good settings.
(and i know, i have 512mb ram and the game lags too.)
How old is your pc?

Pretty New. Everything on the computer is modern. Not the newest stuff around, but I got it around June last year. It is one of those Slim Screen Computers!

Now go and do the other thing G.T said and tell us what memory and processor you've got.

Ok, dont blow your fuse. Here it is:

System:

Microsoft Windows XP
Home edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Right, now the video card thingy:

HP Pavilion
Intel[R]

Pentuim[R] 4 CPU 2.93GHz
2.93GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

There you go, sorry for the delay. Me was a little confused!

Run it at 640x480, no AA and no HDR. Work your way up from there and see what's acceptable for you.

Also, upgrade your RAM to 2.0gb, and if you can, upgrade your graphics card to a nVidia 7800GT/GTX/7900 GT so you can run it with all the eye candy turned on.
