It all plays into Fanatec's hands beautifully.

Is it possible the T500RS could be superceeded within a year of its release. Can Fanatec offer a competing wheel product and shifter but without all the compatibility issues and also give X360 support?

Mr Latte
It all plays into Fanatec's hands beautifully.

For people who want to play PS3 games other than GT5, yes I would agree.

For PC owners who I believe this is marketed towards I don't agree. It looks the nutz.

Actually Fanatec are playing into Thrustmasters hands as of now for PC players.

No CSS, thank you very much mister Fanatec owner, I have a decent shifter for you.

Lets forget PC players here they are not really effected...

Some people who play GT5 want the best wheel and shifter experience available. That was the whole point of getting a T500RS. However not many of those people will want to accept the current situation regards the wheels compatibility.

Also who says the T500RS is still the best wheel for GT5?
I personally feel this situation will annoy a lot of T500RS owners no matter how nice or good the shifter is. The question is will they decide to ditch their T500RS wheels and opt for the CSR Elite? I too am in that position and want to know how each will compare. However the Fanatec option has a complete solution coming.

Id like some peoples opinions on that as a likely situation or are they just happy to keep waiting for more "select games" working with the T500RS wheel and (pretty) shifter.

I just got my tracking number for this. Let's wait and see. I still want what this thing can and can't do for myself. It should arrive before the weekend, so tomorrow or the day after.

Point me in the direction of a game that is of equal quality on the Ps3 as GT5 were a shifter comes into play........Their isn't one I'm aware of, not that I'm bothered. When I bought the T500RS it was because it was the official GT5 wheel and from what I could tell was the best on the market at the time (Personal taste also). And when the news was released that their was going to be a shifter of such high quality and looked so good as the TH8 I thought Great, what a bonus! I personally don't mind GT5 is the only compatible game at all, In my opinion it's the perfect game for it. I'm sure there are plenty that Play multipal racing games that feel differently, but I doubt it will be the only game ever to be compatible ............As with all things Patience .......

Unfortunately GT5 is not fully compatible though. They left out the easiest thing to implement, the sequential shifting ability. Which would be nice for the rally enthusiasts in GT5. But hopefully that will be patched in the near future? Who knows as Kaz is random in my opinion.

Hmmmmm, well I not surprised there lol but it's very early days I'm sure there will be a patch, then another patch to fix the patch. Personally once I've mine I can see the sequential getting a look in. Has anyone actually received a shifter yet?

Read a couple of pages back for the person who got one. I got my tracking code like I said a few posts back.

Ehm, a patch fixing the patch for supporting sequential mode? I am sorry but if that's the case then the programmers Kaz put on it are retards. Seriously, sequential shifter is the exact same as the paddles on the wheel. :dunce:
It better be good in one go. Lol

Seems abut if a hassle to go between sequential and gated. Unscrewing stuff and so on. Better off buying two and having both setup in your rig. Good incase one flunks out too.

You need 3 then. One as H-box, one as sequential and the last one as progressive handbrake. ;)

Ask Thrustmaster via Facebook. They will reply to you with a better address.

Question, what "Premium" dashboard cars in GT5 are worth using this with and would feel authentic?
Anyone got a list?

Papaspurs, keep us posted.

it is if you look under PC and not PS3 http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005L0Z2BQ/?tag=gtplanetuk-20

which is right? I am looking forward to getting this, but will wait until Gamepod makes a mount for it. Gamepod has confirmed they will make one, question is when? since i am not sure they have had a chance to get their hands on a shifter, which they probably need before designing a mount.

question to owners. are the hard mounting screws same size and location as the G27 shiifter? that would be awesome because gamepod already have a g27 shifter holder and that would solve my problem

No sorry the hard mount for the TH8 is a three thread design in a triangle orientation spaced about 3cm apart. You must remove the clamp in order to hard mount as the clamp attaches with the same threads. I haven't hard mounted mine yet as I found the clamp system to be adequate for now as its made from hardened steel and is solid once attached.

I'm very surprised those of you in the same part of the world as Guillemot have yet to get confirmed orders. I've found 3 reliable suppliers in Australia and got my shifter on November 1st.

Be patient everyone. I understand your frustration but the TH8 is definitely worth the wait 👍 despite it currently limited PS3 compatibility I feel it will only continue to be included in the top level simulator games and as was said earlier updates will most likely follow once they have sorted out their supply and demand issue (no point updating the games if no one has the shifter)

Can you tell us how much strength adjustment one can make? Or maybe make a little video showing the difference.

Also I am surprised as well. Getting my shifter out of Belgium now. I am 7 hours from Paris and 3 hours from Hamburg (where Fanatec is shipping their stuff from).
I hope I'll receive the shifter soon. That way I can put some attention to it. ;)

The resistance strength is pretty firm. I left at original to start with and after about 1/2 hour decided it was too loose (never used any other shifter than a real one in a car so loose compared to that)
I then set to about 75% and it felt way better. I now have moved it up to about 90% and it's perfect. As you feel it click out of gear it want's to move back to neutral as a natural movement and then smoothly guide it into the next gear.
Tried to get some pics on last night but failed (don't have alot of free time at the moment so trying to use it all on using the shifter) will try get some up today :dunce:

I see. So it's still a pretty loose shifter, or the shifter in your car is very stiff on its movement. Ehm... that sounds wrong if your mind is in he gutter but you know what I mean.
Ah well, I will fiddle around with it. Lol

On a side note: I will excuse myself from this topic for now. Something derailed my mind again.

I think it's still a fairly loose shifter. But it's strong and will take a pretty heavy beating. I think if you want 100% real you need to spend the $500 + on a frex.
