Little off topic, but not really.
Anyone here ever seen a 240 with a Ford 5.0 V8? My buddy bought one, and the guy he got it from had 2 more. Apparently its almost a straight drop in, lil to no modifications need to be done.

I know guy who has that done to a 740 sedan. He said it was pretty easy, and with some mods its now running mid 11s

my 240 :)

i would have love to hve seen the XC90 in gt4, ive read up on it and its a pretty strong 4x4... As for that matter GT4 needs alot more SUV's eg honda CRv cadillac escalade etc...

Why?!

GT4 is the ultimate driving simulator, not the ultimate lumbering simulator.

HAHAHA, I agree.
If they did that, they'll have to start putting in missions like "drive the kids to soccer/football practice in under 5:20.00 seconds"

I've pulled about 12.495 on the drag strip with a maxxed out S60, could be better with tuning.
Both the S60R & V70R are in Enthusia.

My dad's S70 T5(man) is givin him mucho trouble.

When I was watching the carlists for GT4 before its release they almost all said there was a 300 series entering GT4! I was so exited when I read that! But no luck... It's a great drifting car, especially the 360 GLT series (2 liter engine), very popular among amateur racers in the Netherlands since its the cheapest RWD car with at least 100HP here! They are about 300 euro and cheap in maintainance and fuleage. (not the 360)

Although I'm not all that into Volvos, I simply love those older boxy Volvos like the 240... In fact I bought 7 of the 240 in GT4 just because I wanted all those different colors :scared:

Can be drifted really cool that thing -> FUN!

Gotta love the brick 👍
Oooh, GNX wheels, primo. :)

Not that I don't appriciate this thing, but why is it in the game? I'd have thought they'd pick something more desireable, like an 850 T5-R. Does the 240 have some cult significance or something? Is there some animation called Initial Ö where some kid develops amazing driving skill delivering blåbärssoppa to a hotel at the top of a hill in his dad's old 240 wagon?
(No offense intended to any Swedes, who have my undying respect for being able to pronounce words like blåbärssoppa and making the best Q-cars in the world.)

the 240 is just fun, but yea an 850 would be brilliant

especially the BTCC one :D

When I drive one of these Volvos in the game, I set the ASM/TCS at max just so I can get a sense of that great Volvo safety goodness. :D 👍

...Then take them drag racing for quarter mile times.

Yeah, there`s the classic Volvo!

Btw, the 240 in the game is waayyy to heavy; about 500 kg or 1000 pounds overweight. No wonder it handles crappy

Yeah im with you lot (glad its not just me) The racing is a bit easy for my liking in GT4 so im now dedicating my time to mucking about with cack cars such as the Volvo 240 and Fiat panda which I was luckly enough to get both in blood red.

Dutch design, durabillity, not very well known outside the Benelux (Belguim, Nethelands and Luxembourg) and Germany. But, most of all: RWD!

The Volvo 300 series (this is a 340 GL) 👍 :)

i saw an add with that model, were a guy drove it off a 4 story car park , and crashed (obviously) with the car perpindicular to the ground ( car --> | ground = _ ..._|_.. <-- it looked like that) anyways, the guys climbs out and gives it a hug..lol.. and thanks it and its safety. LOL~!

I'm a Volvo junkie, have been for years. My dad has been a dealership Volvo Master tech for about 20 years now. I've seen all sorts of interesting stuff, like a police report on a Volvo that had a head on with an F-150. Each was going ~50mph. The people in the truck were hospitalized while the people in the Volvo walked away. I also totalled my last Volvo due to hydroplaning...and walked away. Amazing cars, really. And now there's the S60R/V70R? Man...that's fun right there. My older bro has T5-R. It's that p*ss yellow color. At first I hated it, but after a while that color grows on you. Like a fungus. Anyway, he's got a few mods, and it's a pretty quick car...but I bet it's got nothin' on the S60R.

And for those of you who were talking about the 302 being dropped into a 240 or a 740... www.converseengineering.com
Yes, it's a straight drop in, and it fits so well it looks factory. The only problem that's coming about now is that EVERYONE wants a Ford 302 for their fox body Mustangs, so finding junked drivetrains are kindof a pain, and getting more expensive.

The v70's and turbocharged awd volvos, are a great car... they just tun to slop when cornering. ( wheels magazine- "confused chassis doesn't ride" -may 2005) I kinda feel sorry for those poor volvo engineers.. there trying so hard to shake thier bad image, in some cases thier even using that image to boost sales, "become a bloody volvo driver"... Although it is catchy and insulting- it does make me want to go buy one ... :sly:

The problem Volvo is having is that they're making sportier cars, but not going back to RWD. Having driven both FWD and RWD Volvos, I can tell you the RWD ones feel much better when cornering. They've made a step in the right direction with AWD, but they need to reverse it so that it's primarily RWD and AWD under slip.

The 262c definatley deserves to be in any GT, especially the Bertone one with the vinal roof. It looked like a tank with the tiny slits for windows & high beltline.
I seen one with a Ford 302 in it.
