The 20 tracks issue is really bugging me

I love it how people see one piece of circumstantial evidence, offer it as proof of existence, wholly convince themselves of said existence, and then pull random percentages out of the aether as if they were ever in a position to make such a comment.

👍

Though PD themselves released an image a year or so ago that had Spa's logo in it. I can't be bothered to dig it up though, but it's around. Monza was there too...

In the latest piece of news on here yamauchi said in n interview that they have not revealed anywhere near the full amount of tracks so there are many more to come

Yes, and he hinted at Deep Forest. I mean, I don't think he would mention a track not included in GT5. No early conclusion but I feel less worried now. :)

gtracedriver Silverstone is KY's fave track, but unfortunately didn't say if the track is included.Personally i want the 60's vers. as it's the fastest Silverstone.Plus could be used in a classic race, maybe Touring Cars perhaps.

Ohh I see. But anyways hope they have more tracks left. I thought Hockenheim in Germany and another of my fav tracks A1-ring, Austria would be announced at Gamescom. But Monza is not bad either

It would be nice to atleast have one real racing track from the UK included, I would love Brands Hatch to be in but Silverstone I would be more than happy with.

I'm still wondering what that city night track is that we saw in the E3 2007 trailer, 0:38 in this video.

Robin.

I would deeply surprised if GT5 did not have Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, and Grand Valley. In fact I can't wait to see if they made changes to them like they did when GT3 came out. All three I've always loved.

I'd also like to see Grindelwald, Red Rock Valley, and Seattle Return. All updated of course :)

I'm going to throw in a wild guess.

Maybe we're getting about 70 tracks, and 20 "locations" for the Track Generator?

Taken from the interview on the news page. https://www.gtplanet.net/gamescom-the-yamauchi-interview/

Kazunori was visibly awed by this question and spent nearly a minute thinking of an answer. “Deep Forest”, he said. I countered with “Trial Mountain?”. His next answer was complex – the team haven’t revealed anywhere near all of the tracks yet and there may be a fantasy GT5 track which exceeds Deep Forest in his estimations, and Trial Mountain in mine.

Hmmmmm.....

What does Famine know?

I'm sure Grand Valley has been shown many times in videos. Mainly the final tunnel. The 350z super gt car in the e3 trailer above.

"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" .

According to the interview "he was able to confirm that the number of unique courses available in the game is “more than 70″ – with the added scope of online Course Maker circuits"

This thread either needs to be renamed to track debate or something or closed as we now have more than 70 tracks confirmed and we have a track editor so basically 70+∞.

In my opinion it's still not clear whether "more than 70 unique courses" doesn't include all possible variations too (if it does, it then clearly excludes reverse versions).

Combining known GT5+GTPSP tracks+variations brings the total to about 70 different courses, and there surely are a few more tracks awaiting to be unveiled, maybe at TGS:

It's not more than 70 unique tracks...it's more than 70 unique routes. 3 of those will be Nurburgring, for example.

We will end up with anything between 20 - 30 unique tracks but between them there are more than 70 racing routes.

That's why there's a track creator.

If there really are only 20+ track locations (Nurburgring, Fuji, Daytona etc...) with 70 unique layouts (GP track, Nordschleife, 24H etc...) then that would mean, looking at the list in the first post, PD have told us 85% of the tracks in the game. I can't see them doing that to be honest and they'd be mad to miss out Trials Mountain, Grand Valley etc...

It is not hard to scale up most of the tracks from GT4 as the track modeling is already done and just a touch up to the overall graphics is necessary. Thats 50+ tracks already done.

So the high-end of 20, 28 or 29 tracks (20+) that feature about 5 fictional tracks, a couple of other real tracks...to include Spa for example...and the rest made up of rally stages.

I think the rally section is going to be pretty small for offline. I think rally stages will be created rather than designed. We'll get a few and the rest will be made and shared by the community.

Don't mistake your opinions for facts, and don't present them as such.

Ha...I read a post recently of someone saying that they shouldn't need to express 'I think that' or 'In my opinion'. I guess the only time I did that I get caught out for it.

Unless I work for PD I'd expect you to figure out it is my opinion/expectation.

To me, considering everything about GT5, I think I'm in the right ball park.

the official US site says this about tracks in the Gamescon section, page 4 "Gran Turismo 5's selection of over 1,000 cars and 20 tracks / 70 track layouts".

I certainly hope that's a consequence of someone not having their facts updated, assuming it's Sony who updates the site. Remember, Yamauchi said that they haven't confirmed no where near the full amount of tracks making it into the game. It was in the interview posted here on the site a couple of days ago. I don't think he would say that if the remaining tracks are going to be variations of those we already know.

It's pretty obvious something has been mis-reported. And it's equally obvious that there is no further need for this thread - because the circuit creator means that there is literally an infinite number of circuits available.

While that maybe the case, will there be an infinate amount of leaderboards. I only ask because hotlapping is quite important so some members.

Personally I don't expect any leaderboards for created tracks because it would be a nightmare to manage I suppose.
