The 20 tracks issue is really bugging me

Its 20+ locations on some interviews, so we might end up getting 21, 22, 23 or something. lets assume its 22, thats a good amount of tracks for a racegame, that focuses on roadracing, but since GT5 will feature offroadevents aswell, the actual trackcount for those interested in roadraces only is smaller by that number.

As long as I get the Nürburgring GP and Nordschleife, Iam happy. The Nurb is the only track I play in GT PSP since months. Taking a car, driving 2 laps in a row and comparing the laptime with some other car is what its all about. Grinding has never been that much fun! :D

In GT4 we got lots of tracks, but I hardly raced on half of them more than necissary (to win all events). It was all about Nurb, Laguna Seca, LeMans, Deep Forrest and Grand Valley for me. If I get those, I will be having the drive of my life for sure!

Fixed.
The tracks are 24-25.

Erm, yeah 100 track and variations, as in overall. What part of 100 tracks and variations in total makes my statement incorrect?
The guy I replied to was talking about the same thing, 100 tracks and variations. At least I hope cause there's no way anyone could make a 100+ track estimate out of 20 locations/70 variations.

Nice list but I've found some errors:
Laguna Seca is in GT4, Tokyo R246 and Seattle are in GT3.

Plus Grand Valley East and the Super Speedway (Motegi) are in GT4. And SSR11 was in GT3 and not GT2. And you forgot about Motorsports Land from GT2.

Could it be we didn't see all the tracks throuhout the GT series is because of the size of what the disk could hold? If that is the case hopefully they didn't use up all the free space on the blu-ray disk with premium cars that they could've put in more tracks.

I don't think so, 50 Gb is a lot of space.

He is saying gt3 and gt4 didn't have all the tracks from all gt games because a ps2 disk can not store all of them.

Correct. So now with a disk that can hold 50gb I am wondering if it is possible to fit every track from the whole series on one disc.

I really hope that the track count will rise because 20 sounds like way too little compared to previous games. Anyway, original courses like Grand Valley, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, Midfield, Apricot Hill have to be there too. They are true GT classics. However, I am so happy that the three variations of Nürburgring have been confirmed and Circuit de la Sarthe which I have visited twice in real life.

wait wait wait
they said gt4 tracks will be in the game
& gt4 have 40+ track !!
WTF
& come on , only 20 track
that is the most Ridiculous thing i ever heard :yuck:
im begining to Realize that GT5 will be the worst gt ever :guilty:

Please do yourself a favour and look at the tracklist from GT4, a lot of the 40 ( it's closer to more than 50 I believe ) or so tracks are variations of one location ( especially the real life tracks ).
For example Fuji has 4 and Suzuka 3 which all add up to that 40 ( or 50+ ) number.
GT5 has at least 70 variations...........

alright then
well wait & see what those PD guys well give us

I said it before, and I'll say it again

20 environments/sceneries/locations = 20 photo mode locations

The real track count is the other 70 or so figure they have put out there

Makes sense, if you count on the tracks listed in GT5P weather forecast system and the old ones from the GT4, you'll get easily to that number. If that's true, PD just screwed my december vacation, I'll be at home all time. :D

Exactly and lastest screen shots support this as they have the countries name as the location next to the track name.

The problem with people who believe that it's 20 tracks and 70 variations is that means the average track has 3.5 variations.

Sorry, but that's just not going to happen. Nurburgring, which seems to have become the flagship track of the game, will only have 3 variations. So now you're saying another track has to have 4 variations. And we know most city courses will only be forward and reverse, so now you're looking at tracks that need to have 5 to 6+ variations. That's not going to happen.

^^ Nice logic. I think you may be right altho theres a vid where kaz refers to the Nurburgring as a location. I'll try to find it.

EDIT: Here we go, skip to 4 minutes.

Second edit: Actually it could be interpreted as photo mode or track *sigh*. I thought I had something there..

More than that, I'm wondering if they have fixed the snap oversteer? It was also made 100times worse in the third-person view, and before you say who races in that view, it is a nice feature to have since that way driving, drifting, and racing videos can be made to show the exterior of the car as you are driving.

One thing Forza has always done is have a great third person view, other than that I love GT waaaaay more in terms of a quality sim.

Looking at GT4 some approx. 54 variations, reverse wasn't considered as a track/variation.

Hopefully it should be getting clearer at this point (at least to me) that Locations/Environments was referring to country's such as Japan, United Kingdom, Germany etc., & variation are track layouts such as example the Suzuka Circuit, Suzuka East Course, & Suzuka West Course counting as three variations. At this point Its just a matter of guessing what those 60-70 variations/tracks will be. :)

You live in Brazil for god's sake, where would you go on vacation? Just drag the TV and ps3 outside and voila, you're good.

I used to use third person. But now I only use third person for drifting and stuff like drag racing in other games. Otherwise I cant drive like that.

I figured out whats been bugging me, I don't want Rome or Spain, their just like every other city track, (London, Tokyo). I also don't want tight city locations where you go a 100km average (citta di...something rather). I want a tight straight road passing through a city where you feel that speed, going through mountain tunnels, and so on (a reason I like trial mountain), but I don't want something Forza's Japanese mountain pass track. I want something like Auvergne, or some of the Monaco Variations (These are tracks from NFS PORSCHE 2000 👍 ) where it's short but fast through the city (you would really feel the speed), they differ from the F1 Monaco track (GT) where it's dynamic through turns and tight hairpins. Something thats not like Rome or Soul where the track is wide. It's hard to explain, I hope you guys got my point or whatever 💡
