Usually there is a 10-15 minute qualifying session anyway. We could try it tonight and see how smoothly it could go. Bowtie can name the driver to the track and call out who's next out. As soon as the driver crosses the finish line after their second lap, the guy on deck leaves the pits. You are correct in that qualifying doesn't matter so much at Daytona. But it will at Motegi and Indy. Track position is track position. Starting from the rear for someone who shouldn't be back there could be a recipe for disaster. Also this way no one gets to turn a million laps and put up their absolute best time. Hell, I could call out names. I've done this before and I guarantee it be run as efficiently as possible.
I would much rather see the point go for leading the most laps. In all of the races I have done at Indy, Daytona, and Motegi (still a big draft fest), the usual winner spent the first half of the race in the back of the pack keeping draft, but conserving equipment.
Not sure I am going to make it tonight. I gotta get a little testing in for something else and get back upstairs to stay with one of our dogs who seemed to have injured her leg again. Sorry guys.
I just updated the qualifing part of the first post and ive added a pace lap to every race.
We may do cautions tonight, Acording how many show up for the race tonight.
Hope to see every one tonight!!!!!
Yeah, great race guys. I'm so disappointed to wreck on the last lap. Killer got sideways in front of me and I slammed right into his driver door. And of course I'm the last one to get moving. Felt like I had a car that did anything I asked it to. Can't wait for next week.
Got to come in and see a good 11 lap race. Still bummed that I missed it, but that give me more incentive to win this week, or at least finish ahead of killer.
