im very concerned about the sounds from the cars in gt4 from what ive heard from most people it sounds nearly the same as gt3 wich sux doesnt sound much like any of the real cars i havnt played prolouge yet whats ur verdict?

I think that some sound the same and some sound more realistic and throatier. As far as sounds after adding mufflers, I hope they get it right this time.

A bit of some friendly advice, it's not a good idea to start two stupid threads, in the same day, here.

Use the search function, and use proper grammar. There are people from other countries that have difficulties reading English, and they don't need your version of it to screw them up.

I was reading somewhere that in GT3 they only recorded the cars at around 5000rpm and in GT4 they have recorded them through the whole rev range so hopefully they sound more like the real thing.

plologue was better than GT3 in most cars except say the GT-40 which doesn't sound as deep as on GT3 but the JGTC supra sounds AWSOME at higher revs

Actually, I believe they recorded GT3 sounds at various RPMs. However, they recorded the sounds at steady RPMs with just enough throttle to keep it there. In the GranTurismoWorld announcement, it said that for GT4 they have recorded all engine sounds at full throttle, so we can expect much fuller sounds in the game than before.

In GT3 there was the GT40...the ORIGINAL old one.

In Prologue there was the compressor equipped Ford GT.
(The 40 was dropped later! It was describing the height
in inches. The new one should have been GT 42, since it is
a mere 2 inches taller.)
This two cars have nothing in common concerning the
engine sound, believe me.

In fact, the Prologue Ford GT sounds quite realistic, as you
can hear the compressor scream combined with a soft V8
rumble. Regarding to some car magazines, this is as it should
sound like.

If you ever have the chance to hear an original GT40, go there.
Unmistakeable sound.
