Hey guys, so I thought it would be nice having a single thread, where all input/help/videos/discussion would be stored. I think that could actually be a nice help for those, trying but still struggling to gold some of those challenges. This is racing game, not exploration treasure seeking adventure. Without practice and skill you won't get it.

There is only one advice i can give. Be patient, do not give up. Eventually even Nordschleife will fall. 💪 Earning those Gold's is verry rewarding satysfying.
 
So I've been trying Driving Mission 31 - Moby Dick - Mixed Class Race Overtaking 1 - Gold and really struggling tro come to do the pass for the final two cars, I've got 2nd because the NSX has made a couple of oopsies but I cannot outdrag the Aston Martin over thhe line, it always has 0.5 tenths on me.

Is there some trick I am missing here or is there a bug with the mission difficulty/spacing of the cars, my race the NSX is never overtaking/outdragging the Aston Martn over the finish line it's always just beside me 0.5 tenths behind.

Anyone any ideas/suggestions?

I did it a while ago so it's possible PD messed it up but what you said sounds similar to when I did it.

You can go much faster than you think, you need to fly through the first turn and then drive around the outside of the two cars and then you can pass the NSX and the other car before the chicane (if they don't hit you), then there's just the Aston left, you can pass it before the last corner but it likes to bump you so best to stick right behind it until you can drive clean by on the exit. :D

Just did it again for a video, a bit messy but it'll do.



It might take a number of goes, it did for me and the AI may hit you hard enough to cause a DQ but it may let you off like it did for me or just don't brake too late and crawl through corners and you'll be fine. :D

Thanks! I eventually got it a few tries after I posted, I ended up dealing with the NSX and 911 after that corner but I think the Aston must have messed up a bit because I caught him same spot you did so it's all done now!

My other question I had is any fuel saving tips for the Ford F150 Eco mission in the same set of challenges, I have managed to get a 7.25 mile record which I am quite impressed with but I see many higher scores on the leaderboard and I feel I can eco-manage better!

I am ususally coasting in 3rd gear no acceleration on the straights or downhill sections, the only bit I accelerate lightly for is the hill after T1 and going in the tunnel then a small burst to get me up the hill after the long down hill tunnel exit.

Two places I always lose time are the beginning and the end, turn 1 right at the start and the final chicane. What gears are you guys taking these in, and any other advice would help.

I show my run in multiple cameras and comment on gearing, etc. You should check it out. I hope it does help. :)

Turn 1 you have to brake late and very hard. In my 200 attempts, I always gained time in turn 1.

Even though I've watched every guide going, I really need somebody to come and complete them for me.

Whoever said practice makes perfect was lying - despite collecting 1.3 million drift points, I'm no better at it now than I was when GT7 came out! The only comfort factor I have is that I'm not alone - I have more people on my friends list with less points in each drift mission, than people with more.

Try to be more "balsy"? Lol idk what to say. I DO think lots of practise does help here and I actually DO think that it's A LOT easier on the pad.

Totally me this.... I'm useless trying to drift with the G29 (which can't recalibrate either) and I have ten thumbs on the controller... I'm A+ rated driver in GT7 and a pretty good drifter in the real world (with my 455 Hp daily drive).... so..... Is it me, or do the physics suck?

I finally got some time to smash out all the circuit experiences in the last few days, it was one hell of a ride, probably one of the better ways to experience gran turismo, kinda substitutes the many license tests from older GTs, variety of cars on a variety of (or all) tracks. Hopefully we can do the glen straight away tonight as well.

edit: the glen came with CE for the long course, never drove the genesis before and to me it understeers like a brick and, if you're not careful, snap oversteers like a brick with a supercharger

edit 2: also i've been trying to smash out the missions but realised some of them are gonna take a while, also i am terrible at drifting on a wheel, i drift better with a controller but trying to stick with the wheel is making each drift mission go for at least 30 minutes

I did it today for the car, following the video in the OP I just couldn't get it, but I watched this video and followed their map pattern and got it within a few tries. All in all it doesn't require too much changing of the map. I ran out of fuel a little before the line but still got it.

Update, did it! Got 4.999 seconds, haha. Now all I need is the Honda NSX Type R '92 for the other menu. It's not in the used cars right now but I assume it is a used car and not a reward for anything?
