Not at all surprised, its bad when you hesitate to make a move on a corner because you know the AI is going to inexplicably brake causing you to rearend them, especially on license tests where a tap DQ's you
You can take that as the half-way point of the game, theres the final credits film once you finish the final cup in extreme series (even though there are more events to unlock )
Oh yeah, and i'm not surprised at all. I was racing at Indy alongside a Chapparel car which decided to turn into the side of me and then didn't come off the throttle as he was basically t-boning me along the start straight with my nose in the wall

Pretty sure GT has always had the credits after the GT World Championship.
Heck, in GT2 you could win the GT World Championship pretty quickly if you tried - much quicker than the time it takes you to get to a level to even unlock the event in GT5.
