I found an interesting post on reddit.

There is a mysterious gorilla icon painted on the wall, presumably a teaser for S8.

People on reddit seem to think that the gorilla is related to off-road racing, monster trucks, or demolition derby, what do you think?

I would like to see a playlist focused on monster trucks and demolition derby.
While there are monster truck racing events, Motorflix style stunt events are still not available in TCM, and there are no events outside of multiplayer that allow the demolition derby cars to be used as it should be.

It's about time we get an event for these underused categories. (And Jet Sprint and Hover, come back soon! I miss you guys!)

Monster trucks and demo derby = 👍
Jet sprint and hovercraft = 👎

Also, are we 100% sure that is a gorilla. It looks like a lion's snout to me?? Which could suggest something related to Peugeot?

Haha, it seems like people really hate hover, both on reddit and here! 😭

I should probably say this in the TC2 thread rather than in this one, but hover is a very easy and fun category once you learn just a few rules!

1. Forget about cars and boats driving techniques. (I think the reason most people don't like hovers is because they try to drive them like they would a car or a boat. Driving like a car or a boat turns the hovercraft into an uncontrollable pinball.)
2. Avoid using the brakes whenever possible, and only on straights if you must.
3. Always remember that in a hovercraft, the thrust is also the grip and the brakes.

That's it.
In simpler terms, always open the throttle and turn at full speed drifting towards the apex of the corner.
If you do that, hovers are a very fun category to corner in, where you can always take an "in-in-in" line.
I used to hate hovers too, but after discovering how fun they are, I'm looking forward to the day I can ride a hovercraft in TCM!

The reason its despised is not understanding inertia which only takes minutes, the elephant in the room is the bad gameplay. I hope you get your events if its your thing, but I would argue its a waste of resources / development time.

I hated hovercrafts at first too, than I got used to it.
I hated jet sprint at first, than I got used to it.
I hated acrobatics, than I just memorized the figures and it became much easier.
I still hate demolition derby. No matter how much I try I just can't ace those events. I gave up long ago and it's the only thing I will never complete in TC2.

+1.
The difficulty setting for Demolition Derby is clearly insane.
The races are the easiest of all the categories, and even the lowest spec cars can easily beat Ace.
On the other hand, the Arena events are insanely difficult even on normal, and I still can't complete them at all. In my case, I've played Destruction Derby and other Demolition Derby style games quite well, but TC2's DD Arena is completely out of my league.

Good news for those who like/love the Motorsports Playlist and who drive Street Racing in both tiers or the fastest: You can now add Iron Grip to these cars' parts, including transferring them to Tier 1 vehicles.

Currently racing the whole playlist in my Mini Cooper '69 with maximum Iron Grip with Legend Points and Affixes. (62% together.)

The 100% bonus for the online races is good i made 141k in one race 🤑 but the races locked to cockpit I've avoided so far I'm not a masochist unless they do it collision off which I've not yet seen 🤪

Did anyone notice, there seems to be a lot of Wood Panelled Wagons on Maui, a lot more than on Oahu. I wonder if these are Ford Country Squires or something similar being added as traffic NPC cars.

I really outdid myself up to now for this month. I might have my first Summit Platinum, currently sitting at 8,685th position and I made it to level 50 in this month's Legend levels as of now!
I think it's a summit where you can probably do better than usual if you do each event a few times to learn the track in cockpit view. I only did each event once, and did worse than I'd normally expect for doing that, because the lack of minimap and stereoscopic vision meant I just couldn't see the shape of corners. Chase cam normally compensates a bit for the lack of stereoscopic vision by giving you a better viewpoint. I did do one of the events twice and took 6 seconds off my time, because learning the track compensates for the reduced ability to see the shape of corners.

I'm happy that I can get the Summit Bundle this week without having to grind for the first time in a while.
Until last week, I was grinding on two games, TCM and TC2, trying to get as many Ferraris as possible as cheaply as possible, so this week I feel like I've been given a little summer vacation.

And the weekly challenges are weird but kind of fun.
The previous F80 challenge received mixed reviews, but since Season 7, I'm very happy that they've been making changes to the weekly challenges like this.

Last week summit was fun. Improved a lot using cockpit view. Still 5 seconds slower than using chase cam. This week summit on the other hand is just... I mean one still need different score breaker sets to be on top. But it's really easy to get max scores on skills. Which means the jet race is the only one that will make a difference. And the jet race is also not that difficult. I kind of feel sorry for those that compete for the top 10. 😭

It's nice to be able to change the favourite vehicles in the summit now makes the bullseye event's less annoying 🥳

Main stage is impossible for me to complete this week - finish 2 events in the summit contest never works for feats therefore only the Jet event will register...

Also where the hell can I jump a powerboat 109 yards? looks for Ubi dam

Also also, the 2 MV Agusta bikes aren't transferring across TC2 into TCM as they should be doing!

Straight Rush from Redbull's second playlist. I used nitrous while being propelled with a ramp with fans and it validated. 👍

The visual parts transferred for some reason. I'm just glad they are both back.

Put a good few hours in on the summit today, really like that its fair play too. Didn't miss the feats either... the races where generally good (apart from the drag race borefest) cant catch my own times now... be back at it refreshed tomorrow no doubt about it!

I need to get the Ferrari playlist done this week for the Main Stage tasks.
I have another issue. I already completed all the challenges 😭. All except one, to spend 500 prestige points. I already own everything 😭. So now I have to skip this week custom show, wait 8 months and buy the vanity when it comes to the shop. And than I will finally become a 'Commendatore'. 🤣

Pro tip: The easiest challenges are 'spend 3 minutes at the museum' and 'interact with all 6 vehicles at museum'.

There's a lot of moaning about the "2 ferrari challenges" on Reddit. They should have put that in week 1, or week 2 at the latest, not week 5. Thanks for the tip.

My quick and easy strategy for the Custom Show is still working reasonably well - stock car with only golden stripes tyres added gets me platinum almost every week.

You got platinum last week? Cool because lots of those that got 8❤️ were out of platinum. Custom show is weird. You have people that vote clean cars, those that prefer vanities or custom liveries. And than you have the purple/pink people.

Yes - platinum last week, not by a lot though.
I always make sure to do my Tuesday voting early morning, I think it ranks you based on "first come first served" method?

They changed it. It was like this before. Now the show starts randomly once 1000 entries are registered. Than it just randomly pick cars. Your car can be selected last even when you register early.

I'm not sure if that is a smart decision but Ivory is trying something new for the next playlist. Drip feeding...

So we will get one event, 3 challenges, one skill and a photo-op each week... For the next 13 weeks. We will be able to use our own cars and you will get a million instead of a vehicle after 3 months.
It's still content added so I'm happy. A playlist with 13 events, 41 challenges and 26 side activities wouldn't be bad either.
