I imagine it's kind of necessary too, since the theme implies it's going to use some of the most expensive cars in the game and people will likely need time to actually get the money to obtain said cars if they haven't been playing for very long. Dropping an entire playlist at once and then saying "sorry, you need to grind for 6-8 hours before you can move to the next race, but have fun staring at all these icons you can't do anything with yet" is very off-putting.

I think it's a good compromise. We get more content than usual and we don't have to wait months for the playlist to drop but we have to wait tor it to complete. Like if this trend continue into season 8 we will get a new event every week. With two playlist per season we could expect 8-9 events in future playlists instead of usual 7 events. Actually it's really the same.

Been my best month in terms of performance yet in Motorfest. 1 Summit Platinum, 2 Custom Show Platinums, approximately 100 Driver levels at August 6th or a bit more!

Good thing I have 7 Million Credits for the next Playlist. It's gonna be useful.

I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one who feels uneasy about the Luxury playlist.
I already play TC2 every day, buying expensive cars like the Carrera GT that I'd likely need for the Luxury playlist, and importing them into TCM.
It's ironic that I'm playing TC2 more actively in order to enjoy TCM, but when there's no grind in TCM that's more efficient than TC2's Highspeed Takedown, it makes sense, right?

Summit/Custom Show bundles are going to be expensive since the theme for August is Bugatti and French cars. September is Porsche/Germany and October Triumph/GB.

While I agree that the chase races are best for grind they are also extremely repetitive. I would definitely do some races in each discipline in between doing the Highspeed Takedown and Bayou Break (Rally) method.

The Ogmios Rally Spec is shaping up to be my favorite rally car. It's really cool. Plus, unless the thumbnail is a placeholder using the stock Ogmios, this car looks like it'll have a lot of visual customization options, from stock to more like the rally car in the main image. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

But there's just one fatality problem:

I'm not a good driver, so it'll probably be a few months before I get my hands on this car.

I won't be able to play at all that week so I'll DEFINITELY be waiting a long time for it... it does look good though.

Not sure about the rally Ogmios (looks really cool) but you definitely didn't miss on the SF90 Assetto Fiorano if you didn't managed platinum last week. It has the same performance as the Stradale without any body modifications and 2 color options, no livery allowed either. A meh car but the Summit was fun last week.

Talking of expensive i was bored so popped in gt7 after months and thought i'd do the weekly time trial 🤬😡🤬 3 million credits needed to buy another freaking skyline 👎 i turned it off in disgust 🤢

You don't need to buy the car for the time trial, you can just rent them for it.
But yes, I haven't bought it yet either.

This week's summit cost in TCM is ONLY 2.5m... luckily I was sitting on 12m but need some cheap weeks now 😅

You can get the Proto car in TC2. It's a bit annoying you can't use the Marble Edition. In the past you've generally been able to use any variant of a car but here they've locked the special version out of eligibility.

A meh car but the Summit was fun last week.
I don't know if the difference is me rather than the Summit, but I didn't enjoy last week's summit much, this week's feels a lot better, with nicer flowing tracks and better handling cars.

Especially as the Marble Edition is the Main Stage prize this month.

Most of the time I buy the TCM summit cars in TC2 where possible, but I already needed 2.5m credits for the TC2 summit this week and next week's Veyron, so I didn't have time to get the moolah for the Proto as well. I did buy the Renault 5 Maxi for tomorrows TCM summit though.

At the moment, I am focusing more time on TC2 (for which the summit cars may not return later, and where platinum is normally achievable for me) rather than TCM where the summits will presumably repeat towards End of Life and where the competition is too high for me to get platinum (and the Prestige Tickets give us another option anyway).

Agree with you the hyper cars have such a lot of nuance in the controls, you can really feel the edge of grip and I love the way when it breaks, that you can subsequently attenuate it with boost on exit. I think it escapes some of the community here, just how nuanced the driving can be in Motorfest... Ive just been wrestling the Bugatti Centodieci through puddles and having the best time honing hitting the apex's to perfection. The boost system is my darling, deploying it like ERS with real cunning adds a level of strategy that Forza would really benefit from.

Found this weeks summit not very competitive, last week by comparison was hardcore. Ive not enjoyed shaving thousands of a second in a driving game as much as this one, since OG Sega Rally on the Saturn.

It was more competitive. And I like it from time to time. Now I didn't have troubles staying in platinum. But I did have troubles staying in top 5k. Last week I didn't need to repeat any race and ended top 3k. And I agree last week tracks were nicer.

This week summit is going to be interesting with forced manual transmission. 😂
But then we can drive the Ogmios rally. Such a nice car.

Im not sure what to think of the manual gear change at least its fresh, what it will make you appreciate is how much the boost dynamic matters because there is none... Im not sure I can be arsed even one shotting the summit this week when I can be driving with boost elsewhere in game. Just imagine what this game would be like if this was baked in (yeah looking at you Forza!). I dont think I would have 1300hrs on it if it did! Looking forward to next week already in TCM will pivot over TC2 see whats happening there summit wise...

It's funny, the lack of boost is one of the reasons I like Horizon a bit more than Motorfest.

I should really jump back into this and try some of the recent content, but I'm having a bit of driving game fatigue at the moment. Not really playing any of them.

Im obsessed must admit, Forza has a great sense of speed without it and the braking and throttle is generally better sensitivity wise. For me the fatigue creeps in on games with less elements. Anyway longer you take a break the richer these games become for content ;-)

Well i completed the summit and didn't get forced to use manual gears once did i miss something ? or is it a wheel options issue like i had last week i had restarted an event and thought i'd set manual and up the hardness but it didn't work unless i quit out and set the option in the wheel section myself

Maybe it's a bug related to how wheel has different gear options. With a controller, it forces sequential gears and nitro off. Did you have nitro forced off, or was that still working as well as having auto gears?

Nitro was off so yeh it looks to be the same issue i came across the other day 😵‍💫I'll freak it right out later and try steering with the controller and throttling with the wheel pedals 🤯 i often end up flying that way i find it easier than using all 4 shoulder buttons

I broke it ooops lol yeh na! it didn't like that at all hehe even after leaving the summit in open world the throttle didn't work on the peds but the brake still did and it was back to auto changing gears 🧑‍🔧

This drawn out one race weekly in the Luxury Chronicles is stupid. It shows they don't have anything really new so what little they have they are drawing it out over 12 weeks to keep players here. Pretty crappy.
The norm is 1 playlist of 7 events every 2 months (8 or 9 weeks).
This time they are adding 1 playlist of 13 events over 13 weeks.
Or in other words, more content than normal... (13/7 > 13/9)

I like it, im engaged with something new to do outside the summits, a new course per week with new feats and challenges is welcome. Ive been posting some really decent times on the leaderboards, very addictive doing so. Cant blame you for wanting more, me too!, but as @sirjim73 says its the same ammount of content for the timeframe.

My whinge is manual gears is a bit turgid for the summit... hiss! lol

I'm not bothered much by them adding 1 event, 1 photo op an 3 challenges every week. Because it's something fresh. I would definitely hate it if this trend continue in season 8, 9, 10.... Maybe not really hate it... Definitely not a fan of it.
Adding the option to do custom events for the races we completed wouldn't hurt either.

Is It right or a bug but if you start the new events in your own car you don't get the loaner or is it like the playlists once you finish the race you can use your own if you drive up to and start ?

It's not a bug I believe. If you own the car already the livery and visual parts will be from the car you own even in playlist mode. I'm not sure about pro settings.

I gained 10 secs and more so i guessed they were working i also have to stop equipping the nitro kits when nitro is off and go for loot etc :banghead:

On a side note for the old buggers like me i couldn't believe inside sim racing are back .......oh Jess 🥰
