Should we delete the beta or leave it there just in case we get extras for being in the beta?
I already deleted it. There are some stickers for being in the beta, but I think that's tied to UPlay, so you should be good to delete.

I always forget about that Uplay stuff. I will just delete the beta when I get home before I install the game.

I uninstalled it, then I saw a post from one of the Ubisoft forum moderators that said you don't have to delete, if you don't delete it, you'll save time during the install.

Really? That's very strange. :odd: Now I am not sure if I should leave it. I guess it wont hurt anything to leave it on there until after I start playing. What time you on tonight?

Sucks for me...I won't be buying this tomorrow. That doesn't mean I'll never play it, though...I will be getting this soon.

As for reviews, I was thinking someone could do a bait-and-switch at the beginning, and pretend to review the 2000 movie "The Crew". Here's the trailer for that movie:

...I'm sure that I'm the only one who thinks this movie is garbage compared to the game, especially when it looks like it was made in 1993.

Wait a minute, there's also a 2008 British action thriller...under the same name.

Did anyone know those movies existed until I just now told you?

I heard about the movie getting leaked, apparently it's an Indie movie and they were disappointed about it being leaked because of that, that's all I really know about it.

I'm hoping I can get on about 7:00 (10pm your time). I'll install it before dinner so I can get that out of the way.
Oh that's a bit later than I expected but I should be on. Hopefully dg will be there too. He has been playing the game ALL day.

Lucky DG, I would love to have the day off today, but we are short-handed right now and need to hire another person (whom I will have to train after we do).

Any handling improvements in the final game compared to the beta?

Not sure which beta you played, but they changed the physics engine after the 1st console beta and added more weight to the cars. The 2nd console beta and the Open beta use the new physics engine. From what I have heard today, the physics are the same as in the open beta (I'm at work with my copy of the Crew and won't get to play until later tonight).

I meant the 2nd/open beta. If it's the same then I think I'll hold off getting it for a while. I'll probably get it next year once all the Season Pass contents have been released and all the bugs have been ironed out with patches. Hopefully the price will have dropped to something more reasonable by then (it's $100 here in Australia ).

So I borrowed my friends xbox 360 to play this and it freezes on the first loading screen after you hook up to the satellite tower. Tried resetting it but it always stops loading at that mark. Is anyone else getting this problem?

edit: Nevermind. Seems this is a known issue.

It's the same from what I can tell, I'll be able to play in about 2.5 more hours. I think that's a good plan to wait, MMO games are always a little rough a launch.

Yeah, after the Driveclub debacle I'm a bit iffy of getting always online games at launch.

IGN's in-progress review says they got disconnected 3 times in 7 hours (starting 4.30). So good luck to those buying the game at launch. You guys are going to need lots of patience

Yeah I saw that, from what I've read other places, 3 disconnects in 7 hours is actually quite good, many others are having a freeze/ disconnect issue once an hour.

A few pages ago I said that if this game launches without any issues then that would be a first for a MMO, they would've effectively pulled off the impossible

Even with 5 betas, I knew there would still be problems at launch. Of course I'm sure the DDoS attacks and hacks haven't helped either (Ubisoft is getting some serious hate from spammers and hackers in the last 24 hours). You are definitely right about lots of patience being needed, after a week most of the problems should be ironed out.

I think it's pretty smooth launch-wise. Sure, there are issues, but no biggies (at least on my end).

I'm still deciding whether to get The Crew on PC or on XBox One. XBox would be better because simplicity and guaranteed quality, but PC would be better because the G27 will work, and the possibility of an offline version being modded in.

Have you played the Beta yet?

If you're expecting anything similar to Horizon 2, don't get it. I played the Beta on both the Xbox and PC, and while everything else about the game was great (i.e. map size, graphics were all right, car selection), the physics were unbearable even after changing the driving settings to what were apparently the best ones. See if you can rent it from Fatso on the Xbox One before you buy it.

Hehe... Hehe... Fatso.

No great problems on PC version, just random crashes 1 time every hour / 1h30m. Runs smooth and clean on i5 3.1GHz, 8GB RAM and nVidia ASUS GTX 660 (not ti) at high settings.

Hey guys,
does someone of you already play the game on PC ?
Could you please tell me if there's an option to disable the ingame wheel and driver hands like in various titles ?
thanks in advance

X1 version.

I played for 6 straight hours last night and only had 1 minor hiccup. I pre-ordered the game so now I have 8 cars and my Challenger is around level 66 and my character is level 9. As mentioned before, the more you play, the better your cars will handle. This is a racing game with full RPG elements.

The Crew is technically one of the best launching sandbox games I have played on the X1. Its actually insanely impressive how well this game runs when you consider the vast size and everything going on. I teamed up with 2 other friends last night including @DDastardly00 and honestly when all 3 of us were together, we did not have 1 single issue. You can jump in and out of co-op races within 1-2 seconds. Almost the entire campaign can be played as a co-op. You can even re-play the co-op missions with friends at any time. Along with all of the side races, jumps, slalom events, everything. Works very fluid. I highly recommend The Crew as a purchase. 👍

Is anyone getting the cars that were offered on the pre-order codes? My codes worked but I didn't get any of the 3 cars...

Yes that's why I said I have 8 cars in my previous reply. I started with the Challenger and if you include the pre-order cars, you technically get 6 cars because they give you a Full stock car and Street tuned version for each car. I drove all the pre-order cars last night. X1 version.
