The Crew really looks and sounds good, I won't deny that. The only thing that's ruining this game is being a Online Only game. Why did the developers thought that was a smart idea, it's stupid and not smart...
Wow no kidding!I can't wait to drive this

All the Driveclub talks here. Might be worth my while to chime in and give my two cents.
Driveclub is a track racer. Automatically, that gives it the more popular following here on GTPlanet. However, from what gameplay we've seen and interviews we've heard, it may not be worth the hype. Allow me to explain. We always knew the physics model would be more "simcade", however the gameplay we've seen indicates that it is easier to get out of powerslides. If you look at say E3 2013 gameplay, you would be able to see that once the rear end of the car was out, it was out. So the question remains: is there Criterion Drifting (ala Grid 2)? Also, there does not seem to be much in the way of progression. In that, the progression in the game is not starting with a low end car and build up and up to finally get to the car of your dreams. In Driveclub, every car is given to you for levelling up. So Driveclub to me looks like a game I'll play for two weeks then rest it aside, unless the Multiplayer is awesome.
The Crew. In development for eight years by Ivory Tower studios. The premise of the game is an MMO CarPG, so that is why the game is always online. Just like GTA Online, just like Elder Scrolls Online. I actually applaud them for taking the risk of doing that! The Crew is an open world game, but Ivory have actually made an Open World where not one person will want to stick to just one area, there will be people who will be exploring the whole map. Think of it as Test Drive Unlimited 2 in a way when it comes to the MMO aspect. But an open world is useless with out things to do. Oh, does The Crew have you covered there. So there is a 30 hour long story mode in The Crew. Very good length for a racing game. Add on all the side missions and skill challenges and we're looking at another 30 hours. Julian Gerighty (Creative Director) has stated to fully max out one car will take 40 hours at maximum. So, if the rumoured 70 cars are indeed true, and you are a true completionist, to max out all 70 cars would take you 2800 hours. Moreover, Ivory plan to release new DLC for free every three months (ala GTA Online) so more cars and events to add on to those hours that are already there.
So, both games will be awesome I know that. It is merely longetivity that separates the two as well as value for money. Honestly, it doesn't take a blind sailor to see that The Crew is better than Driveclub. I mean, Ivory are so proud of their game that they were showing it off in live streams! I will get both games, but it looks like The Crew will be in my PS4 for a very long time indeed.
Show me the raid version, then we're talking...I can't wait to drive this

On a side note, did anyone notice that New York is in a really strange place compared to real life? Its all the way on the East coast. The other cities are quite close to their real life location, just New York is way off.
I haven't seen a livestream yet, but i would like to watch them. Can you please give some links?Honestly, it doesn't take a blind sailor to see that The Crew is better than Driveclub. The actual streams are no longer available to watch, however Youtuber BlackPanthaa has uploaded most of the footage to his youtube channel. Here you go!I haven't seen a livestream yet, but i would like to watch them. Can you please give some links?![]()
New York is NORTH east of Michigan on the US map. It is quite a bit south east in The Crew. Not a complaint, just an observation.Scratching my head on this one. The real NYC is pretty damn east. Like, nearly as east as it could possibly be without running out of country.
Actually Detroit is at 42 degrees latitude, with NYC slightly south at 40 degrees, as a reference.New York is NORTH east of Michigan on the US map. It is quite a bit south east in The Crew. Not a complaint, just an observation.
Exactly my point, now go look at the Crew map. You cant actually think that is 40 and 42 in the Crew map.Actually Detroit is at 42 degrees latitude, with NYC slightly south at 40 degrees, as a reference.
I haven't seen one yet, only the new GT500 so far.

The offroad version of that mustang looks sick.
I watched a customization video last week that blew me away. Really getting more and more excited for this with each video I see. Also not sure if you knew DD but I will actually have a week off PAID when this comes out. The Master Chief Collection and The crew come out the same day and I will have 30 paid vacation days by then. So I couldn't resist. With a highly condensed map, we can all expect cities to be in differen places than where they should be.
Yeah I can't wait to do some offroading in this game, plus the raid missions look really fun, this game is going to be great to play with friends.

Yes there are a lot of great games coming out at the end of 2014. Reminds me of 2007 all over again. You're going to have your hands full this November, with any luck I should be joining you. I want to get a Vizio P series (4k ultra TV) first, rumor has it they should be hitting stores in late August/early September, hopefully I will have some money left for a new X1 before The Crew hits or at least before Christmas, I aslo want Horizon 2 and then maybe Destiny next.
I'm thinking of a Xbone/PS4 for this game, but I don't have a group of friends I play with.
Or friends at all really.
