Just got my key... should have COD AW in the mail today, and I am still enjoying destiny.. what to play tomorrow morning and this weekend. :dopey:

What's the best settings to use? Driving is bearable using Hardcore but I'm not too sure if I should change the other settings below.

First impressions are not good. I don't like the way the cars pivot around the front axle and it's really unattractive in places. I'll forgive the latter because it's a beta, but the handling is terrible.

I was expecting something like Driver SF, but it's actually a long way worse than the original Driver. I was going to ask for it for Christmas, but I can definitely live without it.

The installation time after finishing the prologue takes waaaay too long. I gave up for tonight after 29%. I'll need to open the game early tomorrow to continue installing.

Same here. I'm thinking about waiting for the game's price to drop or go on sale for about $30-40 and then pick it up.
I don't think I'll bother even if it's cheap. I mean I'm not trying to diss a game that is still in beta...but I see no real difference in look, aim or plot from the middle period of NFS titles - which, I enjoyed by the way - except the handling and collision physics seems worse than driving in Watch Dogs...a non-driving game.

I am actually surprised at this. Please don't get me wrong, those who are enjoying it, I hope you continue to have fun. I was sort of expecting something like an open-world Driveclub with lots of pretties and some fresh air so to speak, not recycled plots.

I'm leaving it on overnight. It's taking forever.

I got on for an hour last night and the thing that I was impressed with was the character models they looked really good. Didn't mind the driving to much but the thing that bugged me was how bad it looked when your car got scratched just looked like really low quality textures or something.

It reminded me of Motorstorm Apocalypse, which is odd considering...

It's at 91% of the post-prelude download. I had hoped to jump back in to see what the open world bit would be like.

This was exactly what I was expecting. Driver SF was actually rather good. Every car felt different, "heavy". You know what I'm saying? Each car I tried so far just felt exactly the same. I'm forced to throw the car into a slide just to get around a corner. But then all it takes is a small bump against something and the car just flips.

As @MeanElf pointed out, this game just feels recycled. I bet it would do great 10 years ago though.
I like the game. Hate the physics. Could do without any plot whatsoever.

Another in the 'meh' camp, won't be picking this up, yes it's just a beta but as mentioned above it feels like driving in watch dogs.

Not my thing.

Only played apocalypse once and don't remember what it felt like. But like you the install thing stopped me playing. By the time it finished the servers had gone down lol

Ouch, it seems the latest beta has really turned people off. If the physics are as bad as everyone is making it out to be, then count me out. I'm extremely sensitive to physics and in a game like this where you are driving ALL THE TIME it's even more important to have an engaging physics model. I'm not asking for a sim, but at least make it semi-believable and intuitive like Burnout Paradise or NFS MW 2012.

The only savior left on PS4 for me will be PCARS and GT7. If those two drops the ball as well, I'm migrating to PC...

I m a bit surprised by all the negative posts about the handling. I like the feel of weight that the cars have, that you have to actually calculate a braking distance and not have instant stop brakes like most other arcade games. I also dont get small bumps flipping the car?

Of course Driveclubs handling feels more precise and nimble, but I can have fun with both. Hooning the street spec Mustang over the dirt roads of the mountain areas is lots of sideways fun! :D

I wish there was a way of letting the developers know about this. And I mean a direct channel straight to the big cheese instead of filling surveys and rambling on twitter.

I'v plaid non-car games with better driving physics than this. Watch dogs has been mentioned above, but for a non-car game I actually don't think is that bad. At least I can feel the weight of the car and the it changes direction according to where the wheels are pointing.
On this one [the crew] however I feel like the car has a tooth pick right in center of the car, and every time you turn, you feel as if the map is orbiting around the car. It's really weird, so weird I lack the vocabulary to express it.

But they! I got a PS4, I can try make a video to demonstrate. But then again, the game won't let me play anymore because it's still "installing". By the time this is done the beta will be over...

While you're on the subject I'd like to point out that up to this point there aren't many car games these systems. Sure you got Forza and DriveClub, but those are exclusive games for their respective systems. If we're talking about a game available to anyone regardless of their system all we got is Need for Speed Rivals, and The Crew will be facing some serious bumps when being compared to that one.

IMO The Crew physics make MW look like Mario Kart... but I think Criterion ruined NFS so I'm biased.

The crew just has some odd steering settings with no explanation, so you have to mess with them a lot to get a good setup.

Ahh, don't let me influence you LeGeNd bro - I'm guessing you haven't tried for a beta key? I do know that you like your physics though. A redeeming feature I found, as I got to play some free-roam, is my Camaro felt a lot heavier and more stable. A bit twitchy on the Freeway though...and why is it in all car games that cars on the Freeway insist on driving side-by-side?)

Anyway, I know it isn't for me - I have enough with DC to be honest. See if you can bag yourself a code and try for yourself.

It finished finally and I took a trek off to Jellystone Park ;) where I left my Camaro parked halfway up a mountain  Plenty of Deer and Bison roaming around out there...didn't take me too long to get there either. I'm guessing about two to three hours to cross the country.

@Deko Wolf-GTPT that's it, you've hit the nail on the head with what I felt last night.

It really does feel like the map rotates around the car, which is what totally ruined it for me. TDU 2 had its handling faults but even that was better than this.

Finally finished the install and after doing another mission, I decided to take a trip to the car dealer in New York. I don't like the way the camera jerks upwards when you apply the nitrous in cockpit view. I just reached the New York dealer when the server went down.

Waiting for mine to download, been waiting since half one...
