Yes, it's worth it, but we've been waiting for so long we expect a GREAT thing. That means damage on all cars, cockpit views on all cars, none of this half-assed stuff. Instead, we rejoice at having insignificant stuff like "private races." Yes, private races are great, but in modern day gaming they are nothing but a necessity! And for GT fans it's something amazing!

All I'm saying here is that PD seriously needs to get its act together. Maybe what Famine said is right, maybe the demo just had damage toned down or something. But if GT5 releases with this crappy damage, then I'm through with Gran Turismo. If GT5 doesn't release in 2009, then I'm through with Gran Turismo. It has already been too long of a wait, and now we are being disappointed. How the hell does that happen?
I agree. It's taking way too long, and it's still not eye popping. Damage on some cars only sounds like a joke, for a game developed in over 5 years! As it is now, I'm not even sure if I'm going to get GT5.

And those of you saying we are too pessimistic and disappointed, just ignore us. We have all right in the world to be...

Omg people, TGS, is without a doubt, going to be the day. They've already shown us gameplay today, and it is not crap, its amazing, it had >damage< A GT game with damage! Its easy enough for other games to have it, but GT5 with damage is something we werent expecting. We have had a features list, that said there was more to be announced at tgs, MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED, sound good to me, basically means theres more to the game than we thought.

Does Forza have all car brands? I just know (and it has been mentioned by PD) that some brands do not want to show any damage on their cars at all. Which seems a bit silly to me, unless they know that their cars are really bad at obsorbing an impact and don't want that to be known to the world.

Im pretty sure they have to show the whole world how good their cars are at crashes during crash testing. Compulsory in almost every country these days i hear. And its pretty unlikely a game replicating dmg would be taken as a serious crash test anyway.

Well Gentlemen, if that's how you feel, then you need to make a statement by not buying this game.

It would be better for PD and Sony to give us some hard facts to prevent these 'fans' from not buying the game based on speculations.
Keeping their mouths shut til TGS won't be a smart move!

What I dont understand is if your gonna make damage by having a few cars get fender benders after a 200kmh crash then why bother??????
Why not just not have damage and concentrate on interiors, tyre modelling, skid marks, damagable track surroundings (which is important), reverse lights...

Why spend time making a few body panels move on just some cars.... there all the other features they could have worked on, features that happen on track.... weather, night day which seems to not be in... wipers.

So many negative nancy's around here.:dunce:

Sheesh.

Just play the game the way it's supposed to be enjoyed. Drive the cars, tune the cars, and have fun.

So basically play an HD GT4? Sorry, but GT4 doesn't cut it in this day and age. Sure, it was groundbreaking when it came out, but the racing genre has evolved a lot since then.

We don't know what's in the game yet. And we don't know whether there are several options on damage. Why don't you wait until we know before you start asking such questions and raising claims?

Did anyone noticed the MOVABLE ENVIRONMENT BOXES and Plastic walls? It's cool

To all the guys crying..
Maybe it's demo just for VISUAL DAMAGE, not mechanical yet? stop crying for god sakes..

As well In youtube video on NEWS page, the subaur rally car after some damage can't keep up with that Mitsubishi.

Also Note that RALLY cars can take a beating!!! Wach some clips on the net, you see them roll over, and drive away, hit rocks, drive away, make a 20 foot jumps , and drive away.. its a rally car, so far no videos I have seen when guy is going 120 slams head first on a wall.

Because PD has dug itself a massive hole with all these cars and claimed features... if I were to put together all the features he has mentioned over the years, we would end up with a massive Motoring world which covers absolutely everything... which is Impossible.. im expecting nothing more than GT4 now!

While I disagree that the damage isn't eyepopping, I agree that damage on specific cars is a joke. That's like saying that certain models are immune to the force of gravity. If you're going to implement it, it must be on all cars, period.

And yes, some of us out there feel that GT5 (so far) isn't delivering on our expectations. It's our opinion, and you're free to have yours.

I know why this happened, but I don't know how they could let it. Especially since Kaz is such a perfectionist...

Well, I just think people are expecting too much. I'm happy with what we've already seen, but I still enjoy playing Prologue.

Haha, honestly, what is going on here. They have shown damage, from what they have said its going to be on racecars only. Is that a problem? Its not fantastic but I can certainly live with it!

Is it the end of the word really? And if it is for you, you have to ask yourself some important questions!

The game has improved, look at the feature list from the website last night!
It has evolved, it has moved on. Its not perfect no, nothing is, but its going to be amazing.

Well lets put it this way, would you play a FPS where only certain characters could get injured from the bullets?

Don't know about anyone else, but I still play GT4 and a whole bunch of nutters come to my house twice a year to play each other at it.

GT4 with HD graphics, 275 more cars, a bunch more tracks, more accurate physics, cockpit cam and with an online mode? Not a problem. Chuck in some Ferraris, Lamborghinis and at least one Bugatti? Yeah, I'll have some of that. Some cars can be blown to smithereens too? Bonus.

Problem is that people don't think enough and jump on conclusions too fast. When Kaz says "I want to have day/night cycles in the next Gran Turismo", it will take minutes for people to claim that he promised that. So if it won't come for GT5 (which we don't know yet, since there is no official, complete feature list to this day), people will be disappointed. Problem is that they rarely ever promise anything. The hole you speak of was dug by fans and haters which didn't think clearly.

Actually, it's very simple. If you think the game is good enough and you can put up with waiting for it, go and buy it. If you think it was surpassed by the competition, go and buy the competition. And you're welcome to post your views on things on a forum like this, but repeating it over and over won't help. Everyone has his or her own opinion.

I'll tell you how. Because sony is getting its butt kicked, bloody hard. With the GFC plus its TV sales are not doing well. We all know the ps3 is not selling well. This is one of, if not the biggest game coming out on ps3 in the future and im sure PD would be getting quite abit of pressure from sony to hurry the 🤬 up and get this thing out already.

But games like forza having damage on all vehicles and Gt only having it on selected number of cars makes you wonder what has been going on in these development years.. sure they had to make gtmobile but man we expected more Full damage not half way done

Even though Kaz hasnt said how many cars are going to have damage, that number from yesterday saying 170 seems like it might be right

Now are we going to be able to Design are paint jobs, Auction house?

If i was Sony I would become Impatient also, C'mon now this game has been in development way too long, its time for some results to help the suffering Console.

cicohipe - Please refrain from slipping into txtspk contractions. I've noted it in several of your posts now. You clearly have the ability to type English properly, so please do so for all of your words. And don't swear - even in the contracted form you just used.

We all know the ps3 is not selling well.

The PS3 is selling extremely well and is 20% ahead of the 360 at the same point in its life.

Thats why they are different classes.

Race cars have damge, proddy cars will not, at least thats the way it looks.

We will have to wait and see till full details are published.

Yeah it's nice I've noticed it too. 👍

And some people really need to stop complain about damage it has became ridiculous. It is just a 3 min playable demo on one track (Which looks pretty good BTW). Relax and wait until TGS. For my part I'm satisfied with what we got.

I can tell you the difference, over 1000 cars to over 400 cars, 16 cars to 8 cars etc etc etc. Thats what has been going on in the years of development.

Also regards the paint shop, I don't know about that, for me personally I don't care, I think it may not happen as Sony will likely be against having Anime Porn in their flagship game.

Famine:
PS3 is not selling extremely well. PS2 did. Its selling just well...

Regarding damage, as other mentioned i sincerely hope this was some kind of "arcade" setting damage, otherwise it shouldnt even be there.
