If RBR is really on the verge of quitting, then it would make sens if Haas only announced one driver. I mean Riccardo, Kyvat, Sainz and Verstappen would be on the side line. That's a lot of talent that I'm sure Haas wouldnt mind taking, at least for Riccardo. Not sure how Sainz/Verstappen/Kyvat would do on a car developpement program.
Even if that happened I doubt they could get Ricciardo, Verstappen would probably be the pick.

If that Happened i wouldnt be Surprised if Ferrari paid out Kimis contract and put him in(Ricciardo).
 
Pirelli has stated that if RBR and STR are leaving they might also throw in the towel.

Paul Hembery claims Pirelli would consider its own future in Formula 1 should Red Bull and Toro Rosso fail to make it on to the grid for 2016.

Both of billionaire owner Dietrich Mateschitz's teams are reaching the critical stage as to whether they will be in F1 beyond this season.

In terminating contracts with power-unit supplier Renault early, both teams are relying on reaching satisfactory deals with Ferrari.

The WMSC has the power to end this tonight. The offer of a 2015 power unit is only possible under the rules because Marussia did a deal for 2014 engines this year. The WMSC can close that loophole, even though they have proposed a two-tier system with teams paying €12 million for a current-spec engine and €8 million for a year-old set-up. But the smaller teams oppose this, and with Sauber and Force India complaining to the EU Commission about the sport's governance, the WMSC may be hesitant to introduce anything that puts power in the hands of bigger teams and hamstrings the smaller ones.
 

What he said was; "As Ron stated at the last race, I have a contract with McLaren-Honda for next year, so I’ll be racing for McLaren-Honda".

That doesn't literally say that he's staying at McLaren, it says that Ron Dennis says he is. I wouldn't put too much store in that scoop, it may turn out to be correct but that statement is far from confirmation.
 
So when Ron Dennis said soon a year ago, it was time traveler Ron stuck a year behind...I see now.

Remember when he said they could win races? That's definitely time-travelling Ron.

In other news; Grosjean says he would have been a Renault driver (or would like to have been) if the "takeover" deal at Lotus had been completed sooner. Beeb.
 
The thing about Sir Bernard is that at least he actually has F1 experience. He was a driver and a team owner before transitioning to running the commercial aspects and acquiring his epithet of "F1 supremo".

The next person drafted in by the Wisemen Committee we know so little about to run the show could be a complete idiot with no real experience of how F1 works. People might hate Ecclestone for the direction (and locations) he has taken F1 to but at least he has a semblance of what happens on the pitwall and what occurs in the garage.

I'd be glad to see him go but twice as trepidatious about whom might succeed him.

They're currently grooming a Baboon names Supremo to take over :sly:

To be honest, it all comes down to balancing the business aspect and the sporting aspect of F1 that will make it successful or keep it going into a path of uncertainty. However, the FIA has a role in this too and they seem to be making leaps and bounds on their more personal baby living up to what F1 use to.

Frankly, I would rather have another Bernie E.-like replacement than a Mark Miles type that wouldn't know what an F1 Car was if it ran him/her over.
