In any case it seems like some of you are taking the MAL ratings pretty seriously. Take them with a grain of salt. If you want to bitch about scores, go to Rotten Tomatoes.

My own ratings? Yeah sure, you could say I take rating things appropriately somewhat seriously. And I do wish others would put more consideration into their own ratings so that the overall ratings were less garbage.

But do I take the overall ratings seriously? Like I said, I do wish they were more meaningful, but... they aren't. And they never will be, to any significant degree at least. Thus it annoys me when people bring up, say, something being in the #2 place on MAL as if it's important or even a truly valid measurement of how good an anime is. ...Which is how I got started with my ranting to begin with. :lol:

I take ratings pretty seriously too and get bitchin' and hatin', but that's because some people don't understand how tier lists work. And no it's not subjective either, tier lists are structured very mathematically, and last time I checked, you can't say that 1 = 2. :p

I said hot, not practical. Soft weapons are sexy, idgaf how awful they are in combat. Chain whips, bullwhips, 3-section staffs, nunchuks... :trouble:

Nah, chain whips and the such are all fine, even the three section staff. It's just that when you get to much more than three, you'd be better off sticking a weight on the end and using it as a flail.

That said, I'm a pragmatist and I'll shoot them from afar with great ungodly levels of firepower. If the air itself isn't burning, we're doing it wrong.
