So much commonsense is lost in anime, it's almost painful.
Moé show and you didn't recommend it to me? Are you sure that when you really were you when you gave me that list?![]()
Before more cool shows come out. You're watching a lot of crummy shows anyway. Watch cool shows![]()
Is A-Channel or Kill Me Baby any good? I saw a few clips of them and they seem pretty funny.
Don't collect 200 bison dollars.Skip Another, go for Guilty Crown, Gosick and the Toaru Majutsu no Index series and hold off on Higurashi until you start to accept srsly messed up 🤬
Also, this may seem weird for me to ask, but what exactly is moé?![]()
The first is the way the characters are drawn. You can think of it as an art style even though it's not trademarked by one artist anymore. For example, here is a picture of Revy in how she is originally depicted as:

Take note on the facial features; eyes, nose, face shape.
And here is Revy depicted in a moe style (specifcally Chibi in this case):

Ignoring the obvious body size, moe styles tend to use ginormous eyes, small noses and mouth to make them look all cute and adorable. Heads are usually big and round. These are the main things that people will use to identify moe art styles.
So to burn that into your memory, I'll show examples of non-moe characters, and moe characters, starting with the former:

And this is moe:

Noticed how they all got very similar art styles than the former set of images? The big eyes and small noses? Yeah, that's the visuals of moe essentially.
The definition of moe are fetishes that are used heavily in current anime. You can use the term "moe" to describe that one fetish one person may have. Catgirl-moe, glasses-moe, sailor uniform-moe, striped panties-moe, etc.. It's not limited to objects however; it can extend to commonly used actions and behaviours people usually find cute and charming. Examples of these include cat faces :3, meowing like cats, and talking adorably like a little girl. I don't think you'll get it right now. But if you want to truly understand what isn't moe, you need to see shows that don't contain any, or at least significantly less than what you've already been watching. You'll notice that the "moe shows" then to employ the same things they give to characters and you should be able to notice how similar some characters are (happy girls), the settings (like school... with happy girls), the relationships the girls have with the male protagonist (this is a very specific example, but is almost always an occurring one).
Bottom line is, if you truly want to understand what moe is, watch other shows other than the shows with the same art style you are particularly attracted to.![]()
I'm debating between Gosick and Toaru Majutsu no Index. It's too hard to decided. The first seems interesting, but the second seems more known. Also, this may seem weird for me to ask, but what exactly is moé?![]()
Gosick. I love my cute little detective Loli sucking a pipe.
Ganta is moe? WTF is this 🤬?!!!It's not weird since you haven't experienced enough shows that don't contain any of that content for you to know what it is. Moe has become two sorts of terms that are usually associated with each other.
Bottom line is, if you truly want to understand what moe is, watch other shows other than the shows with the same art style you are particularly attracted to.![]()
About how much action-oriented? Is there so much it gets in the way of character development and story, resulting in my enjoyment being low? Action alone never really makes a good show.Index is good, more action-oriented.
That's not Kirito, that's Kyousuke from Oreimo and beside him is Kirino.
Those eyes...........*snip*
