If you like a show about a band who like to drink tea, then you like a show about a band who like to drink tea. I honestly can't judge on the grounds of never having watched K-ON.

I like a show that's basically about me. I am so narcissistic.
 
IMHO, it really doesn't help you're that sensitive about someone who doesn't agree with your opinion. You have to understand there's going to be people out there who don't agree with you and honestly believe they genuinely know a little more about the subject than others. Who knows? What if Lain has seen a large array of anime to say K-ON isn't really all that great?

You're taking me too seriously. I word my opinions in that over-the-top matter-of-fact way as a joke.

Even though I do think K-ON sucks, I most definitely don't honestly consider it to be a cold fact. It just appeals to my sense of humor to state it as being such when it's so obviously a matter of opinion.

We're not going to see the Nielsen ratings that don't matter (Because they're the total ratings, not the demographic ratings (And Nielsen TV ratings accounts for only an extremely small portion of the US anyway)) for another couple of days.

We'll probably never know how well it did in the ratings that actually matter that [adult swim] doesn't show us anymore.

I wonder if they stopped because it got old or if they stopped because anime numbers took the top spots again. :indiff:
Something tells me the Family Guy hype is finally over and the original reason for AS's success came back (anime). I swear, if it hadn't been for the heavy previewing of Cowboy Bebop AS wouldn't have taken off like it did... So many of us tuned in for CB and ended up watching Home Movies, ATHF, and all the other crap.
It's a shame AS started to hate on anime so badly, it got them an audience and the second FG started taking over the ratings anime was treated like a dirty dog in the house. 👎

BTW,
Been waiting all this time to see Space Dandy, finally got to watch episode 1 tonight and totally not impressed. Really hoping it gets better as I expect way more from watanbe. :(

Honestly, I remember quite enjoying it. I can't remember much else about it, which probably isn't a good sign. But I watched the whole thing and remember liking it, so it can't be all bad. ;)

On a Gundam-related note, I just finished Victory Gundam Episode 36.

Wow, Uso witnessed his mom literally crushed and beheaded in front of him. Even Katejina and Chronicle couldn't help but have feels for a child witnessing that amongst other things like Junko's death as well as Wannabe-Sleggar-Oliver's.

I love this more then Turn A already! Someone said this to me and I can't help but repeat it: Depressed Tomino is best Tomino. The animation, for it's time, is fantastic, the music is fantastic, character development of Uso, Shakti, Chronicle, Odelo and friends is fantastic..

I can't really find a flaw in this anime other than it hasn't been remastered yet.
 
Woot. Saki: The Nationals is up and running. Nothing really happens in the first episode though so if you're like me and only in for the playing, you can skip this one. Glad I didn't sit for all 22 minutes. :lol:

Seitokai Yakiundomo publicly announcing those dirty jokes too. Damn.

Have you seen Rebellion yet? My mind is still blown after seeing the camera rip version and seeing it in theaters.

Funny, I see a Gundam post and here I am finally trying to finish decaling my RG Char's Zaku. SO MUCH TINY DECALS ARGGHHH

Nope. Being European is horrible. All we've heard is that it will get a blu-ray and DVD release at some point, and watching a camera rip is never going to do anything SHAFT produce any form of justice. :grumpy:

Yeah, they stopped doing it around 2010 I think. Also the only time I ever really saw anime make it on the list was Bleach with like 300,000.

Anime doesn't really do very much for [adult swim] in terms of ratings, especially considering how it costs them money to air. The main reason they continue to play anime when other channels wouldn't bother (Does anyone really play non-toyetic anime on American TV beside [as] now?) with this niche stuff is because they like it. I mean they could cancel all the anime and play only Family Guy in its place and get way better ratings.
