This movie bored a lot of Japan's youth, but was more of a hit with adults.

I hate that anything animated here is viewed as either for kids or is South Park.
Same, but it's going to take quite a bit to change things. The Wind Rises being nominated is going to do a little probably, but we're still quite a ways away from getting people to realize what animation truly can be. When you limit yourself to just kids stuff and adult comedies, you too easily get the "Been there done that." feeling, and really limit what you can do creatively. Also here's a really good article I came across.

Most "Been there done that" people aren't creative in the first place.

And I always find it amusing that media foreign to America have to appeal to them first rather than other countries. Why not Europe or Canada? Why does it have to conform to US standards?

Because we are Murica! Though I believe that we have a prestige for top of the line entertainment for years now.Stuff like this really doesn't appeal to the American family.

Kill La Kill.

Episode 18.

Fertilizer, I'd like to introduce you to Rotary-Motion Aerodynamic Device. Rotary-Motion Aerodynamic Device, meet Fertilizer.

That is all.

Haha, screw you dude. Since I saw you tagged me in the alerts but did not click the direct link to the tagged post due to checking other threads first, I later came here and started looking around for my name. Until I clicked that. You had me good  I didn't even know you could do that!

NGE shpoilers > When I found out Toji was going to be the fourth child, I was like "oh snap, the schoolyard bully's getting his own frickin Eva, **** just got real!" But then **** happened and I was actually disappointed.
Then the later episodes plus EoE just made me feel extremely disappointed and sad. Much like how life makes me feel.

Keep in mind that Anno was suicidally depressed either while making NGE or immediately before, which is why things went pear-shaped over the course of the last 9 or 10 episodes; and that EOE was his way of saying "Well **** you too!" to the people who sent him death threats because they didn't like the way the series ended. The movie actually shows some of those letters for about one and a half seconds.

He got over his depression, though, which is a huge reason why Shinji wasn't (as much of) a wuss in all the official spin-offs and in Rebuild.

I don't know, since I haven't watched anything Evangelion after the initial series and wrap up movie. That's great for Shinji, but I heard things go to **** again in 3.0 >.< (As much as I like to know, don't answer that please, I'm waiting for 4.0 to marathon the whole thing.)

Needless to say, NGE + EoE didn't go as I expected. Or should I say wanted.
EoE spoilersh > Asuka didn't have to die. She finally gained a better sense of things. If only EVA-02 had an Eva-sized katana at the time she could've finished the damned Eva Series off. Slice clean through every one of their cores containing all that ridiculously OP S2 Engine crap. We'll see how they regenerate that. Haha, that's how I wanted it to happen. She didn't have to die. :'(
She's just a kid. They're all just kids. It's like nobody cared. :(

Also, how the hell do you spioler tag in this thing?!!
King Something quoted my comment and the spoilers are now somewhat visible!!! :banghead:

Holy crap Kill la Kill 18. You threw me off! Again!

Spoiler below (highlight to yada yada):
I figured after crucifixion, there would be some down time. I was anticipating filler.

"Nope!" says the writer. Ragyou is going to have her way again! The tables have turned! Honnouji and Matoi are gonna give you trouble, Satsuki!

"Nope!" says the writer. Satsuki is smarter than that and she decapitates Ragyou. The tables have turned! It's all over.

"Nope!" says the writer. Ragyou isn't going down that easily after all. Turns out it was a trigger for the life fibers to move out. The tables have turned again! Take a few fists to the face while we're at it, would ya Satsuki? And lose your clothes, your sword, your army and your dignity too.

Delete the text if you're quoting this post.

Apparently my sister Kirsty called K-on "Moe s***". Well, I have some idea what so-called "Moe points" are, after Miyuki-san's mishaps were confirmed by Konata to add to these "Moe points".

Indeed, K-On is a moe soap. It it also the death of the anime industry....

What do you mean it isn't actually the death of the anime industry?

Sorry, let me correct that. It's the death of any respect that anybody had for Kyoani.

What do you mean that was Lucky Star?

Sorry, it's the continuing death of any respect anybody had for Kyonani.

What do you mean they fixed that by making the best film ever made?

Oh.... Wait.

I'm arguing with myself again.

Am I the only one here who anticipates a (spoilers below)...
an end somewhat like Instrumentality in EoE?

So if you watch Fujiko Mine, you tend to get a feeling how they all ( Lupin, Fujiko, Jigen, and...Goemon) met( and probably a little bit of her past.. Go Monkey Punch GO!

Wait, what?

Also just a reminder, K-On! is done and the first season is getting old (It turns 5 this year). It may have been quite the success story, but it's done. There will be no more K-On! ever again.

These are the best when they don't go the conventional route. The Madoka one got me good.

DK
Am I the only one here who anticipates a yada yada yada?

I'm not. If I had to guess (spoiler below):
Well I'd simply think clothes would just lose. The premise is so basic-shounen action. After all we've been through, a loss for the protagonist just no longer seems fitting.

What makes you think it's going to be Instrumentality though? Or rather, what events do you predict will take place?
