Course, you settle down on one eventually. That's why Sanae out of Touhou has been my definitive best girl for 3 years now.

Then again, Rem is pretty great.

Well a true connoisseur doesn't mention having one favorite. Rather, he opts to create an elite list of best girls by type, ensuring all bases are covered. Hell, if animated clueless young boys can have harems, why can't we...? :p

Now there's something I was expecting, DK's trademark Asuka References! If that's not proof of how loyal he is to his waifu, I don't know what that is...

Also, is Asuka pretty much the sole EVA waifu here? I haven't seen a single Rei and/or Mari reference here, but I've seen about a zillion Asukas... Obviously because she's the best, but my doubts linger.

I'll begrudgingly agree, if not for the fact that in the prequel episode/episode 0, Umi is stated as being "known as the best idol", or something along those lines.

I'm not lying either.
 
I'll give them that, Umi is a top girl. But, she's not a top, top girl. I'd call her only the third best in her own group.

Eli is objectively the best. Umi's just my favourite, if that makes sense.
 
Yeah, I get you. I think I've got a similar thing going on. I could easily argue Maki is the 'best', because I think she's absolutely brilliant and she's everyone's favourite. Doesn't mean I like her more than Eli, though.

Maki is in my top four, most definitely. I just prefer everything about Umi more so, but the bar is set pretty damn high.
