HOTD has about 20-50 panty shots per episode. I'm not kidding. It's like it was filmed by a perverted camera man.

Or filmed for a certain audience...

And Vanishing Boy, I really like Azumanga and Yotsubato too :) The art isn't overly complicated because it doesn't need to be. It has what it needs, because it doesn't need to look "cool" or "action" or "sexy" or anything. It's a much simpler concept than most; light-hearted "slice-of-life" comedy and gags. Sometimes keeping to the basics just works :)

Not to mention those oppai shots as well...
Nah, but I guess in this day and age no anime can be avoided from fan-service. But HOTD at least was a bit restraint on their fan-servicing... 👍 (well, compare to Seikon no Qwaser or Queen's Blade at least)

Or you could not watch fan-servicey anime

This. Anime with little to no fan-service exists, trust me.

Fan-service itself doesn't ruin an anime for me, but if that's all an anime has to rely on to try and maintain my interest, thanks but no thanks. I'll just go watch some hentai instead. The problem with fan-service though is that it can be a little awkward watching it with someone who isn't into anime. Whereas I can just accept it for what it is, they might find it a little weird and creepy. This will tarnish their opinion of the anime, and will also likely create a bias in them against all anime in general.

Queen's blade was pretty bad. Sekirei was better. Witchblade...well the only real "fan-service" it had was when the witchblades were worn. FMP also has a lot of fan-service but it's pretty tame...only really one or two lesbian scenes.

This.

I'm not a huge fan of fan-service. I feel like it's getting out of hand.

That recent? It's been AT LEAST seven years.

Yeah that's fairly recent. It goes back farther but fan-service used to have more class. Now it's just tits in your face. Can't believe I'm complaining about that...

Battle Vixens is fan service.

I really don't see the fascination with fanservice and can't understand why people dote on it at all. It's OK in small amounts, but I'd be very happy to see it go completely. Ain't gonna happen though, sadly.

On another note.

DO WANT.

And be warned, you'll either love it or hate it. Never met a person who though it was just ok.

AOS may be the first in that case...:sly:

But I really do like on how Azuma simplifies his art works on his mangas..

If there's a show where the art isn't detailed and looks great, it's Lucky Star, and Puella Magi. :) ... wait.. IMO! *snickers*

@Hatcha's post vid... Why did the OVA have to suck so bad for.... BRS actually looks badass in the game. Speaking of BRS...

Spent my entire day drawing this. If I had drew it on a 8.5x11, I could easily use the lines and simply color it in on PS, but noooo I apparently can't draw on small paper so I drew this on a 14x17 Canson and had to take a photo with my annoying digicam. Now I have to redraw every single line :grumpy:

Thanks. Just finished Ore no Imouto ep 3... I wish I could run off to an arcade and just bang the hell out of the Taiko game like Kirino did!

Also, that was one massive long speech Kyou just did. Big applause for maintaining the energy til the very end!

edit: Holy Jeebus! White Rock Shooter!

Hey nk4e, doesn't she look an awful lot like that cyborg in BB with all them wings and stuff??

I'm becoming more and more drawn to the BRS franchise.... the OVA seriously misleads your perception of it.

I am now watching Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko for reasons up to and including the fact that the characters are freaking adorable and I want to hug them all.

But all the good anime out there right now all have fan-service in them. :(

Battle Vixens is fan service.

I think Ikkitousen was made with absolute fan-service in mind. But honestly the OVA itself was really fun to watch honestly... :D
Also, I think I should start watching Koihime Musou soon. That anime (I heard) had more fan-service in it than even Ikkitousen!

I just sat through the first 10 episodes of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.

Appropriate reaction, but try to keep the Twilight here to a minimum, we don't want Ponies infecting serious threads... (j/k, antagonizing )

I guess that depends on what you like, "good" being the fairly subjective term that it is. Fairly good shows I've seen recently include Tatami Galaxy, Astro Fighter Sunred, Natsume Yuujinchou, Level E... argh it's hard to think of new shows when I've most recently seen a bunch of shows from the 70's

Madoka.......
Madoka do have some fan-service in them, right? :p

Yeah, I guess your right. But I'm just saying the more recently released anime. The older ones aren't don't have moe characters in them like nowadays... :p

Oh boy! Jelly-filled, my favourite!

And Muzaffar, the ones I listed were aired quite recently. The ones that kept popping into my head were stuff like Lupin, Adventure Boy Conan and Gatchaman. Having said that, Lupin movies are really great fun to watch. Wacky hijinks of a master theif and the detective who's always one step behind :p
