Netbook? Ew. 👎

I got it strictly for classes because of weight and battery life. It's pretty slow though... I'm not impressed. It has nothing on my desktop

Double post! Reported... Unless...

What netbook?

I have an Acer Aspire One sitting behind me (but i use my Sony Vaio 99% of the time)

Team Edward? :odd: What's an Edward?

...Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky the 4th? Surely you've heard of her. :p

You should ditch it and get a Macbook Air. Yes it's a Mac, but unlike all these so-called netbooks, it has a real processor. And still has fantastic battery life, and may even be lighter than some "netbooks".

I went for a Toshiba but they were out of stock so I got a HP Mini 110-3735DX. I don't recommend it. I knew there was a reason I didn't like netbooks lol. The battery life is awesome though.

You lost me already.

EDIT: To stay on topic

👎👎👎

You can hate on Mac all you want, but any Mac is better than a netbook.

What is that? It's adorable. <3

@Dice's picture, D'awww.

The air's got nothing but its weight to brag about. Who cares if it's thin? It can't do a bunch of stuff anyway. Pro is where it's at.

Yeah, so why pay about $1000 for a netbook sized laptop? :indiff:

Why? Because it's convenient maybe? :p

Obviously I never would, because performance for me is so much greater of a priority than size. But the Air's got a nice balance of size and performance for people who desire a really small laptop but don't necessarily want mediocre performance.

I agree that the Pro is where it's at. The Air's got decent performance for its size though, so I disagree that all it has going for it is its weight. Hell, the 2010 Air could run Crysis smoothly, albeit at low graphics settings. I don't know if the 2011 models perform better or worse for gaming since they moved to using just the integrated graphics built into the i5 and i7s. I've seen videos of people playing Borderlands on the 2011 Air and it was a little bit choppy, but they were playing the crappy Mac port which I hear is choppy on just about anything.

Last post I'm gonna make on the subject:

I got it for class. I didn't get it for games. I have my desktop for that. It was cheap, was small, and claimed great battery life so that's what I went with. I didn't know it would stutter playing HD video... I figured it could handle that. Lesson learned lol.

Also another thing (but this is with all laptops) I hate is all the pre-loaded software that I had to go in and uninstall/turn off. It's so annoying. My dad's laptop he bought last year came with a bunch of unnecessary crap on it too.

I think Yoko's making that face because that suit's a bit (read: really) tight. I don't think I could watch Gurren Lagann without seriously ruining my pants.

Than a netbook? Okay.
Than a laptop powered by windows for the same price?

No.

and no, i'm not telling you what to buy, i'm just trying to figure out your reason for buying a macbook air :p

A netbook is small, but has bad performance.
A laptop has good performance, but isn't small.
A Macbook Air is small and has good performance.

Is that clear enough? :p

Sephy
(but this is with all laptops)
Not quite all. ;)

Macs are exempt from this. And so are custom gaming laptops from companies like Origin PC and IBUYPOWER. :p

Disclaimer: this is anime-related because we're discussing which portable computers suck at playing our favourite shows.... so we know which computers to avoid when we go out to buy a new one after our old ones break down from playing too much anime. 👍

The good thing about plug suits is that they can never be too tight.

Actually AOS- you have a point. That is the reason I started complaining about it here haha.

Macs don't count because I never talk about Macs. Custom laptops don't count either because I said so :p

I mean "walk into a store buy off the shelf" laptops.

For some people, myself included, yes.

 Fair enough.

is how I feel about that.

I'm Team Edward.

In that case I'm Team Blade. :sly:

EDIT: Seeing as we're all talking about PCs here, I'm using a Compaq Mini netbook right now. I'm guessing that it has something like an 11-inch screen. I don't have a ruler on me right now...

I'm using a 2011 15" Macbook Pro with a 2.2 GHz i7, 4 GB DDR3, and an AMD Radeon 6750M with 1 GB dedicated RAM to watch my anime with.

How about you guys?

Also, when I transfer to my next command, I'm considering getting a 27" iMac. Probably in May, for my birthday :p

Sony Vaio VPCF115FM/B laptop

Intel Core i7
6GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GT330M
15" 1920x1080 resolution screen
Blu-ray drive

I'm not gloating :sly:
