Wow, I love OADR. One of the few times I actually like Rei.... but she's still a worthless character. Yeeaaah, NGE might be great and all, but the cast of characters is horrible.

Maybe I'll get one or two episodes of Bebop in tonight, I don't know. Still gotta finish this episode of Sherlock that I've been putting off...

Wow, I love OADR. One of the few times I actually like Rei.... but she's still a worthless character. Yeeaaah, NGE might be great and all, but the cast of characters is horrible.

A lot of the characters aren't so great until you really look at them and dig into what makes their minds work. I get a huge kick out of Rei just trying to figure out what she's thinking all the time.

But there are some awesome characters. Asuka of course, Gendo, and Kaji.

Maybe I'll get one or two episodes of Bebop in tonight, I don't know.

A lot of the characters aren't so great until you really look at them and dig into what makes their minds work. I get a huge kick out of Rei just trying to figure out what she's thinking all the time.

But there are some awesome characters. Asuka of course, Gendo, and Kaji.

Rei.... she had more personality in Rebuild, which I absolutely loved. In NGE she was just THERE, her thoughts were simple(aside from the occasional mind rape). Asuka's a neat character, Gendo...... eh, I'm not interested in him and Kaji's the man.

Shinji.... Shinji... Shinji..... Words can't express how much I hate that little... 🤬...

But whatever, it was mostly Rei and Shinji that bothered me.

Not to mention Misato.

Irresponsible lady undergoing what seems to be a mid-life crisis. Further proof that the cast of NGE was taken straight from a mental institution(which is both good and bad).

But one of the worst side characters of all is definitely Ritsuko.

I thought the relationship between Ritsuko, Misato, and Kaji added a more realistic tone to the show. And the "relationship" between her, Gendo, and her mother solidifies the fact that Gendo is THE pimp! Plus without Ritsuko Nerv definitely would have been owned much sooner.

Also put yourself in her shoes. We the viewers know how it ends. She was brought up into that world and believed what she was doing was for the good of humanity. BTW I'm not defending her. She's not my favorite character but she definitely isn't the worst. I think she's interesting, just like I think pretty much every character in the show is interesting.

Teams are just some things we made up to keep ourselves entertained. Team Asuka is the best followed by nothing else. You're more than welcome to join.
