sorry to all who didn't make the picture, I was running out of room and ideas, maybe on the 2000th post celebration ;-)

I'd post more and stuff but GTP is extremely lagged and usually takes me 5-10 minutes to get one response to show up after I type it, so yeah, big lag issues >:-/

The 1000th post picture

Seems deviant art didn't like external linking so I just popped the URL to it.

Yep, that's about where I've been lately. It seems I've been finding every possible way to spend time other places than at the computer or playing any form of video games. Don't ask me how I've done it, I've just found a way to kill time and not remember how I was killing time.

Couldn't say any more than a guess.

I do want to bring up something else.
(spoilers ahead. ;) )

The Animatrix
I was suprised by the content, this was definately a good form for the story of the matrix to take. (I dare say that the real matrix movies should have been animes)

There were several stories (9 in all, I think) and each was different in terms of art, story and creator.

Some were good, others were not so good.

I would say I was most impressed by the story related to the rise of the machines, and one of the "neo stories".

The machine stories were the best... especially the story about our fight with them and what led to where the matrix picked up in the real movies.

That story had the most graphic and stirring scenes. :trouble:

However, an awesome skateboard chase scene was perfect for some diversity in the various adventures.

I would suggest this for a rental, maybe a purchase if your name is "daddy phat stacks" (as in your cash supply), but for my broke ass, this one is a cartoon network only thing.

What do you guys think?

Seen the movie?
Like it?

Btw, I also liked the detective story, as well as most of the music.

Later. :D

Shoot, the more I think about it...

I really liked the detective story, and I thought the samurai story was badass.

So come on ya'll, whatcha think? :D

I would have to agree with you on the Animatrix--though I never have gotten around to watching the last two stories--overall, I think it adds more to the story of the Matrix. Whatever the last Matrix movie was--can't think of the name of it--the fight at the end made me think of DBZ. Really, I could have seen the Matrix as being better off as having been anime, though I don't think it would quite have had/has the following it does now.

Don't you own a Supra too? I had a Celica; I think it was an '86 GTS too . . . right around those years, can't remember the exact year.

lol, wlecome back vash, haven't seen you for awhile, thats why I figured the doughnuts sign would be good :) I even went to great lengths to find the exact tread from vash's shoes (i'm a weird kind of perfectionist :p)

kirkis, thnx for the toyota site, my poor 86 needs it's engine :(

yay, I foung half of the "anime thread" crew online. how have you been dudes?
it has been a real while. I just missed the anime thread for some time.
Tenchi Muyo is being aired in Mexico. what a crapload of ****. I cant believe how pointless the story is, and its not even funny after a while!!! the animation quality is crap, the characters are lame and the music is worse than that. I cant believe that a series like that can be considered a "legend" by as many people. have any of you seen it?

I've seen some of the Tenchi Muyo series, but not enough of the series to really give a say on it. But from what little I have seen, I haven't been too impressed. Again though, haven't seen enough to really tell.

Well, I haven't been on GTP a whole lot lately, so that's probably why you haven't seen me. There hasn't been a lot for me to comment/don't know what's going on. Plus, I'm seemingly busy with absolutely nothing! Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist.

hmmmmmm is anyone going to d/l the fourth stage of initial d and i know cano u hate initial d

I would--if I am were patient enough to draw or not easily frustrated when trying to draw--but I am still busy with nothing (at this particular point though, I am reading Invisible Man).

 Amazing!!! I can't even even draw that good (but still practicing, hard). :(

The Characters as far as I know belong to "Azu Manga Daioh" because I saw those girls on New Type USA, am I right? Please correct me if I'm wrong. :)

(I'm about to put those girls on the "Anime Girl Thread") :D

BTW, welcome back Vash and Cano! Long time no post! :)

:dunce:

yes, azumanga daioh, a series that is funny as hell but i'm embarassed to admit i've seen it (just watch the opening, you'll understand)

cya folkss! i'm off, bbl

Yeah I agree, by just looking at the pics, it easily grabs you, just like Inu Yasha.

:dunce:

That has got to be the coolest pic I've ever seen, nk4e. (I mean, I gave it to you after all. :D)

Seriously, there's definitely some mind-blowing fanart out there. That's just an example.

I do like fanart. :D

Yes indeed.

I'm a big fan of simple cartoon work as well as those awesome sketch works you find here and there.

Some times I wish I could catch an anime with more of a thick sketching style.

Anyone know of something like that?

Later. :D

Has anyone seen Gundam SEED?

What is this crap?

Seriously, I've been a Gundam fan for almost 4 years and I haven't seen a Gundam series as worse as Gundam SEED (besides G Gundam). It's the same old, played out storyline Gundam has been using ever since the first.

Earth and the Colonies are in a war. Someone designs a supreme mobile suit and calls it 'Gundam.' They hide it in a neutral colony. Everybody wants it. Boy magically pilots it. Protects his friends. Fights the bad guy with the mask and saves the day.

Sound familiar?

The mech designs are not very interesting or realistic (if big robots ever could be realistic). I couldn't care less for the characters. Same type of casting. If you seen any Gundam episode, you'll know what kind of characters they are. Can't say much for the voice acting. The actors seem to overplay some points that shouldn't had been exaggerated. They must have something against cussing as well (or is it just CN's edits?). "Why won't you just GO AWAY?!" Oh yeah, how interesting... It should have been replaced with 'die' or 'go to hell,' something more colorful. The animation seems nice with help from computers. Though, the designs seems 'childish,' not gritty or realistic as 0080, Char's Counterattack, or other UC series.

If I had to sum up SEED with one word, I have to say 'cheesy.' It just doesn't have the grit that most of the UC Gundam series have. I hope this isn't the direction Sunrise wants to go with Gundam, it's a huge mistake.
