Has anyone seen Yu Yu Hakusho?I saw one episode today and it was pretty good.Right now i think it's beign aired on Cartoon Network.

GoKents
009 wasn't good.

At times I did think it was bad.

Thing is, there were occassional moments where I said, hey, that's ok.

Not much more than "ok" at its best. :indiff:

I could never really get past the art style or the character design.
Only 009's super speed ability was OK, other than that one element I didn't like any of the series.

Oh well.
Just another opinion .
But hey, atleast you know there will probably be something better on another channel. ;)
Or maybe not. :odd:

Well of what I have seen. I definitely agree with the character design. They just do not look right at all. The super speed was not bad either. Hopefully they will find something better to air.

Is Astroboy on Fox too? It is also being aired on CTN. I have not watched any of it because the characters look just like those on 009 and I just do not find that style appealing.

What happened in the first ten minutes of Gundam SEED? I did not see what had happened. I had just got home. I also missed YuYu, so I have no idea what happened on today's episode. Could you feel me in GoKents, as I know you watched it?

Inu Yasha was not bad. Though I need to start paying more attention to what is going on. I get too busy talking on GTP. :dopey:

:grumpy:
👎 Seito,
Spoilers not cool.
Especially since anyone on the net can get them through tons of sites... speaking of which, that is the same reason why I don't mind... I already knew today's show, the next and so on. :D

About what actually happend in yu yu hakashu...
Kuwabara was killed by young taguro.
He put up a brave and honest stand against taguro only to be taken down with 1 punch (that was seriously edited for sake of not having a "gut busting" blood scene. ;) ).

At that point yuske broke through his emotional barrier and managed to truely tap into 100%.
He proceeded to whip some ass. 👍

However, the fight continues next week with a final round between the two... sure, we know yuske will win, but lets try and leave the details out (please :D ).

Now regarding Inu Yasha...
I love it, I know you guys hate it, but I love it.
Tonight there were all kinds of subjects brought up in just 1 episode.
First off, the inu yasha/ kagome inter-action had plenty of the back and forth bickering that always entertains me.
Second would be miroku and sango... and those preistess girls.
Miroku managed a few great grops. 👍
The priestess girls were plan funny with their evaluations of the inu yasha group.
And there was even a touch of the miroku/ sango relationship displayed (in an odd way). By that I mean, miroku started getting a feel when the priestess girls were knocked out, however, sango grabbed him by the ear and dragged him away. That was totally a sign of miroku being "tied-down" to sango. ;)

Also, on an action level there was some good stuff too.
Although I must admit that this episode had me laughing a ton.

Anyway, Inu Yasha broke a barrier to a holy shrine. That was big since he wouldn't have been able to do so when the story began.
That wasn't the only fighting or display of skill, but it certainly did catch my attention.

Oh yeah, vash, for real, if you are intrested in the inu yasha story, just ask catch me in this thread or any other way.
I've got no problems talking it up with a fan of inu-yasha, yu yu or anything else related to "my gtp life."

Alright, well that's the saturday anime reply for the week.
Can't wait for next week, but until then,
Stay cool. :sly:

oh sorry i was trying to hint at what happens AFTER the fight.. with his older brother..when he trys to build the thing.. with the other guy.. cant believe there were 3 of them..

GoKents,

Sounds like I missed a good episode of YuYu yesterday. :dunce: Seito did not really give a spoiler at all, as we all know Yuske would win the fight, one way or another. It is just like DBZ and knowing that somehow the good guys will win in the end. But it really is a matter of how they win that really makes the difference.

Though I was not quite as entertained with Inu Yasha as you, as I do not know enough of the story up to this point and because of that it is less entertaining. This really is the one biggest thing I hate about anime. By that I mean, you really have to watch every episode to fully understand the story; but at the same time, it is a good thing, as it fills in the holes in the story and adds to the series. I really am trying to watch as much Inu Yasha as I can to see what all the hype around the series is aboutf; I also bought the first volume of the manga so I could read the start of the series, though I am very annoyed by the layout of the book, as they made it like an American book. Though I have yet to find the time to sit down and read it, but I will get around to it eventually. A friend of mine would have a blast talking to you about Inu Yasha, as he also loves the show too. But I did watch yesterday's episode and caught most of the humor. I knew about the whole grooping thing with Miroku and thought that was pretty funny. The big "doll" things were just plain funny to look at. But this brings up a question. Can Inu Yasha's wind scar attack--I think that is what it is--only travel across the ground or can he like throw it off the tip of his sword?

Well,

First off, the sword is called the "tetsaiga" (sp?)

It is a tooth from his dog demon father that was made into a sword.

The "windscar" is actually not so much an attack, but actually a place!?
You see, in the story they play it out like this...
Each person in a battle has energy that comes off of them.
On the battle field there is a spot where the energy of the 2 combatants will clash.
That spot where 1 person's energy meets another person's is called the "windscar."

With the tetsaiga inu yasha could cut at the wind scar and release the blast of energy you saw yesterday.

It can travel through the air, but usually it runs along the ground.

note: one reason all of that probably makes no sense is because the wind scar isn't really a big issue anymore.
At first inu yasha couldn't even use the windscar. Then he learned to use it and in the show you would get to see demonstrations of its power in a way that showed the energy of the 2 fighters, then the windscar, then inu yasha slicing through it.

However, as the show progressed inu yasha learned how to use other techniques with the sword... eventually the windscar became a simple task for him to perform.

The real power of his sword comes when he does the ultimate attack, which puts out the windscar attack at the same time as an enemy's attack, then the enemy's attack is reversed and sent back on them along with the windscar.
The attack looks cool and is very powerful so keep an eye out for it. 👍

So yeah, even though I just gave a long rediculus answer, I am still gonna sum it all up real quick...

Inu Yasha's windscar attack is thrown off the end of the sword and is not confined to traveling on the ground. :D

Ahhhhhhh! What a long answer! No big deal though. I knew that was the name of the sword, but had absolutely no freakin' idea how to say it. I also know Inu Yasha brother has a sword too with a very similar name. Well now it makes alittle more sense. You definitely explained it better than I could have figured out from just watching what I had. I had always wondered what the heck this so called windscar is. Now I better understand. But the reason I asked about where it would travel is because if it could only travel along the ground, then it would be pretty lame; though I kinda figured this was not the way it would work.

Seito4Counter
But does it have to travel through a medium? Could he use it in space?

I don't think breaking out of the atmosphere is part of the show. ;)
And I'm not a big enough fan boy to elaborate on my theories.

Vash,
👍
Glad I helped a bit.
As for the swords of sheshomoru (sp? for inu yasha's bro)...

1 is a sword thier father gave him, it can actually bring life back to a person by killing of any demons trying to take the soul of the person... he actually tested it on a little girl and now she follows him.

The other is a mega evil, super powerful sword made from (I don't remember, but I think it was part of a powerful demon... maybe a claw or tooth? )...
This sword was made by the rouge deciple of the man who made the tetsaiga.
It is a formidable force and will certainly be the subject of shows in the future.

Also, just to rub it in... :p

The very first time inu yasha used the windscar, it was saving miroku from an incredible number of demons flying down towards them... the tetsaiga sent its power through the air and killed them all.
That was back when they were talking about how the tetsaiga could slay 100 demons with only 1 stroke. :scared:

I sure hope Inu yasha goes to a daily adult swim schedule utilizing the new episodes after they run out of weekly updates.
That would really make it great for catching up on the story.

One more thing...
When do you guys think cn will bring back kenshin?
Just a guess here, but I'm gonna say it will come to the saturday block, then to the daily adult swim.

Also, do you all think "samurai champloo" will be brought onto cn?
It does seem to be a property they could market quite well... I mean, super bad ass samurai combat with hip hop flair.
None the less by the creator of cowboy bebop. :dunce: :dopey:

So yeah, what do you guys think?
btw, sorry for another long post. :)

Just thought some of you would be interested, so I put this together as a conversation piece.

:D

What say you?

It sure would be nice if all these weapons has names that were easy to spell. I just wish they would start Inu Yasha from the very beginning so I could watch the entire series up until the point we are at now. Though this would probably annoy some people; but would not bother me at all, since I could catch up with the story.

You know it was really lame when CTN took Kenshin off being on daily and moved it to just Saturday. It was that much more lame when they decided to take it off air basically right before the battle with Shishio. At least that is the last part I caught before it was taken off air. I think the fight Sano has with the rock crushing guy is pretty funny, at least before the fight. Sano and Saitou bickering is very humorous! I sure do hope they bring back Kenshin. RK has always been the series that comes very close and I mean very close to matching Trigun as my favourite. At times, I really do think though it does match Trigun as my favourite, especially after watching some Samurai X. Hey GoKents, have you seen the Samurai X movies? They are awesome! The animation style is just unbelievable. Every time I watch it, I am just amazed at the quality. Most of the music in the movies is of top notch quality too, as it matches the events very well. There is one of the background tracks that always seems to give me chills. If only the RK series was as of good quality art wise. Though the quality is still good to me on the series and to me does not take away from it at all. But if it was up to the movie standards, WOAH!

Who is this Samurai Champloo? Is he from Ninja Scrolls or a totally different series? Anyone know anything about Ninja Scrolls? I know I asked about it before, but forgot what answers I got. :dunce: Every time I go into Best Buy I think about buying a volume of it and seeing if it is any good. But never come to do it because I do not want to waste around $25 if it is not any good.

Your posts are bad at all GoKents. If you want a long post, you should check out the write-up I just put up yesterday in the GT3 section. Now that is a freakin' long post. And earlier when I said something about a long post, just giving you a hard time.

Samurai Champloo
What say you?
:D

Kinda small, and what series is this guy from? I have never heard of him until you just mentioned him.

You know I think both of us just made a double post. Shame on us! :dunce: [EDIT]Nevermind, nightkids broke mine up.[/EDIT]

Wow, you got that reply in with the quickness. :D

About Samurai Champloo...
Cowboy bebop creator does new series. Simple as that.
Infact, I'm still waiting to see it since I haven't had the chance... It's not really in America yet... in fact, the main official site is in japanese only. :indiff:

Also, you're right about the RK schedule... they really screwed everyone with that. However, they did show through to the end of the kyoto story. Shishio got what was coming to him... although sadly, it really wasn't as good as I would have hoped.
I mean, to use a cliched phrase, it was rather anti-climatic.

Yes, you heard me right. But I say that for a reason...
The Batosai vs The jinku squad leader. :trouble:
That was so badass it's crazy.
I loved the art, style, action, and story of that section of the kyoto story. (I think "they" reffer to each story as an "arc"... like the kyoto arc).

anyway, ... oh yeah...
Ninja scroll.

Don't waste your time on anything other than the movie, the original movie.
The second story they wrote onto the ninja scroll story was just horrible.
Border line hentai in parts and lacking in overall quality. I was not a fan.

However, the original ninja scroll movie was and still is one of the best anime movies I've ever seen.
If you can get your hands on that, by all means, do it. 👍

They definitely screwed everyone with the RK schedule. Just out of nowhere they decide to move it to Saturday without telling anyone, and then out of nowhere it seems they start showing new episodes.

Which character was the Jinku squad leader? I do not really remember all of the characters towards the end of what was shown on CTN. You are correct on what they refer to as part of the story, as they do in fact call them "arcs". I think I have been impressed with just about all of Kenshin's fights throughout the series. Kenshin is such a badass that it is not even funny.

Well after what you said about Ninja Scroll, I am not even going to mess with it. I do not want to buy the wrong thing and then find that out later.

Ahhh the creator of Bebop makes Samurai Champloo! That reminds me, I need to take some time and watch all of Bebop all the way through, as I have never done so. It sure is nice having the whole series on DVD.

Well, first off... I made a mistake
Progress has been made since I last checked the ninja scroll series out... they came up with a legitimate tv series (which I have not seen).

I mistakenly thought you were reffering to something else when you mentioned picking up volumes of ninja scroll... my bad for getting you wrong.
The legit tv series, I have not seen.

I have only seen the movie and the horrible follow-up story called "ninja resurrection."

This is what you want. Ninja Scroll
http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/iW6oRq-tCwwErCg=Yp/browse/item/4675/4/0/-930

This is the series that followed, which I still have not seen.
http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/iW6oRq-tCwwErCg=Yp/browse/item/60302/4/0/-930

The series looks pretty good actually.

Just remember...
Ninja Scroll The Movie is great and totally worth a purchase.

(of course, go find it way cheaper at a local store ;) )

About the leader of the jinku squad... the wolves of ibu (or whatever)...

I was reffering to Hajime Saitou

His fight with Kenshin right at the begining of the kyoto arc was awesome. 👍

Here's a pic just to jog your memory.

But remember:
Ninja Scroll is a great movie. 👍 :D

I've watched the movie version of Ninja Scroll, and its was sick 👍 . But I haven't watched the TV series, how was it? Is it any better or worse than the movie version?

But I miss Ruruoni Kenshin/Samurai X. I don't get to see them quite lately on TV. I think it was cut out of the line up from CN (but I think its better suited for Adult Swim because of its brutality content). :(

And BTW, who has the Anime Network here? Does anyone seen this rare channel on cable?

Yeah the movie was good. But I've never heard of the TV series either.....

BTW, The Bebob team loves music, thats for sure....

Cowboy Bebob (Jazz?)
Wolf's Rain (Brazilian music)
Samurai Champloo (HipHop)

So what would be some good music they would do next?

I am guessing this is the same thing as the movie you showed me. Ninja Scroll Movie? Well I guess I kinda confused you too with the Ninja Scroll series stuff, as I did not even know their was a crappy follow up.

Ok, I know who Saitou is, I just did not remember him being the leader of the Jinku squad that's all. Saitou is a bad ass. You have to like his motto, "Aku Soku Zan" or "Kill Evil Instantly". And actually I think he is also refered to as the Wolf of Mibu or Mibu's Wolf.

babe.jpg

This is actually from that fight you talked about.

If you would like to learn some more about Hajime Saitou here is a pretty good site that has a lot of information on him. Good Site about Hajime Saitou

Well before anyone says something about the double post, I am sorry for it, but it has to deal with something totally different from my previous one and I wanted to make sure each one got recognized.

Well CTN put Inu Yasha back on the nightly schedule as least for now. Tonight's episode was Terror of the Ancient Noh Mask. It seems it is Episode 11 in the series. So my question is, what has happened in the previous ten episodes? Since it is only the eleventh episode, I would think I have not missed out on a whole lot of the story. And being that we are only a couple episodes in, was there anything about the Noh Mask before this episode? Could someone--more than likely GoKents--tell me about the previous episodes? And could you also tell me how this "sit" command came about and why it came about? I have seen Kagome use it before, but no idea why it exists or why she has it.

[EDIT]Well nevermind about the Noh Mask, the episode pretty much explained everything, at least I think it did. This episode was definitely pretty funny. When Inu Yasha kept tryhing to get up after Kagome give the multiple sit command and the rock falling on him was pretty funny. Though overall, the whole episode had some humor in it. It was almost like RK with the slapstick humor. Though now, I would like to have my couple of questions I asked previously answered. But I also have another question, why did CTN decide that it would be a good idea to start Inu Yasha on Episode 11 after bringing it back to the nightly schedule?[/EDIT]

Vash,

Well, basically, I have no clue why they would start on the 11th episode. Maybe some kind of mastake, or maybe a long term scheduling issue? :indiff:

I can give you some info about what you have questions about.

First off, you didn't miss too much since they did a great little intro at the begining. Kinda helps for people in your shoes.

However, the "sit command" was part of the first 2 part episode (counts as episodes 1 & 2 probably).

So this is my quickest story for what you missed and how the command comes in...

Standing by the well in her own time, kagome and the jewel magically in her body slowly awaken a centipede demon trapped in the well between the fuedal era and kagome's era.

The centipede grabs kagome and pulls her in. When Kagome wakes up she is in the fuedal era. She gets out of the well and looks around, being lost, she runs to the only thing she knows... the great shrine tree.

This is the tree Inu Yasha was stuck to by Kikiyo's arrow.

Upon Kagome's arrival at the tree she is captured by local villagers. Eventually "lady centipede" attacks the village in search of the jewel. Kagome runs from the village and makes it to the tree holding inu yasha. When she arrives Inu Yasha wakes up after 50 years of sleeping. They argue. :D

She removes his arrow through the heart... he kills the centipede demon...
Then he goes for Kagome to get the jewel.
However, the older preitess (kikiyo's little sister from 50 years back) uses the necklace to protect Kagome.

She says a prayer while holding the necklace. It breaks apart and flies around inu yasha's neck 1 peice at a time then combines into a necklace on his neck.

The priestess then calls out to Kagome, say a command of submission (something like chill out or stop what your doing, in whatever way someone would say it).

Kagome remembers feeling up Inu Yasha's ears while he was sleeping and pinned to the tree... bingo, "sit boy!"

So that's the necklace.
About the mask... it's nothing in the story, just filler for the first season (along with some good development between Kagome's family and Inu Yasha).

Anyway, gotta run,
back soon...

just tell him the story, anyways, has anyone seen the first movie of inuyasha and we should a inyuasha fan club, since ken likes it so much and u guys like sango
