I never seen it before, so I'm a cherry in all of this.

I really liked the mechanical design, very cool. But, I think the English dub is way off, really off. I usually don't complain about the dubs, but this one was almost irritating to listen to.

I've seen about 8 episodes of the series and have never really had a problem with the dubbing.

NGE, if you really get into it, you will get religion mixed within science. Like for examples (spoilers) the Eva suits are buit after certain angels or gods , then there is the tree of life that happens within the EOE , very weird, ill try to explain it better later.

Ah yes... Eva is on the way. :D
I've been waiting for CN to show Eva since a few years ago when they did the "Giant Robot Week."

If that was any indincation of their plans, I would expect Nadesico as well as Eva (since both were shown during the Giant Robo Week).
It will be interesting to see if they do Nadesico eventually.

In the mean time I will be happy with only getting Naruto.
Lately that show has been the one Anime I'm really trying to catch. 👍
An awesome show that it is.

On that note, I've also started watching Full Metal Alchemist again. :D
For me that show seems to come best in spurts... Just a few episodes at a time, then a break, then back to the show.

When I stopped watching a while back the show felt like it had stalled out and I was starting to feel like the overall story was taking a back seat to side stories. However, the main story is starting to come back stronger than I ever expected.
That's probably the only reason I'm watching again. :sly:

I'm wondering though,
Do any of you know if FMA & Inu Yasha have come to the end of their stories over in Japan?

Edit:
I've just done some searching and found that FMA has indeed come to an end.
51 episodes and atleast one movie (the movie came out this summer).
Seems the movie also gives the true end to the series. :D
If any of you are interested in the spoilers feel free to PM me. :sly:
I have links for a summary as well as plain and simple english for those who don't like reading lengthy story summaries. ;)

I think FMA and inyuasha has been over but I guess its still popular among some people in Nippon

I've been watching both InuYasha and FMA a lot lately. I, like Kent, got kinda bored with FMA. I felt like the story was going kinda slowly there for a while and then after starting to watch again, I have seen the story pick up. I have actually started to like FMA a lot again. I guess the breaks that CN always puts in the middle of a series have just ruined a lot of series for me. FMA was pretty much ruined because of a long break of new episodes and I fear that Samurai Champloo will be the same.

Has anyone seen Cromartie High? Oh my gawd this show is hilarious. It's soooo random. The dude with the purple mohawk is hilarious!

Vash,
You speak the truth my anime brotheren. :D

CN does manage to screw things up all the time.
Hell, I look at what they did with Samurai Champloo and you know what I think to myself...? They are just holding us off with Naruto.

It's one big game with CN, that's my only complaint for them.
Otherwise I have to admit that I love them giving us anime. :dopey:

Also... Remember how I said I did some net research and found the ending to FMA?
Well I am sure of it now and I am quite pleased with the results.
Not to spoil it, but I did find one thing they did that I really like... They ended the series with something of a cliff-hanger, and then finished the entire story with a movie that followed the last episodes. 👍

Unfortunately, based on the summary I read, there are a few things we don't get to learn about in the movie, and so, some of the story is left out. :(

Otherwise though, I was really happy to learn about the ending of the story. 👍

Now, regarding a different subject...

Inu Yasha.
I'm going to start a search for spoilers, endings, episode summaries and all that stuff as soon as I can.
However, I'm not sure that IY is over in Japan just yet.
I think they may be wrapping it up right now (winter 05), not sure about that though.

In any case, if any of you know about the final stages of that story, please feel free to PM me and let me hear what you know. :D
Thanks in advance. :sly:

Samurai Champloo is yet another series I think CN may ruin for me by their stupid layoffs. I'm sure that once these new episodes of InuYasha run out, I may yet again lose interest in it. Every time the new episodes have stopped, I have pretty much kinda stopped watching. Well not completely, but not with the previous enthusiasm that I had during the new episodes. As of right now, I have pretty much all but lost interest in Samurai Champloo, which is not a good thing because I was very interested in the series and very much enjoyed it.

It is just plain frustrating getting a series stopped somewhere in the middle of it, especially since either CN doesn't really advertise for when new episodes start back up or don't do a very good job of advertising when new episodes start up. I know on the Sci Fi Network--where I watch Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis--they do an especially great job on advertising for when new episodes of a series are going to start. At times, it can seem like they cram it down your throat, but at least you know when the new episodes are coming.

-> I kinda noticed that, CN doesn't really promote their animes that well, at least not as bad as G4TV. But they should notice that this is a growing trend. If CN still ignores animes and still concentrating on their own in-house cartoons, they will lose some share of their audiences. (:

^ Yup, I've seen volume 1 DVD and chapter 1 of the manga, to me its by far the weiredest anime I've seen so far (seen Excel Saga and FLCL). Its funny thou, but there is not much moving animation to it. And I like the guy who looks like the lead singer of Queen. That show is 100% pure stupidity, heh, heh. (:

And a lot of their new in-house stuff is pretty crappy. I watched like five minutes the other day of The Squidbillies and it was terrible. I still have no idea why Tom Goes to the Mayor is still on TV. That show should have died the day it was thought up.

-> Those in-house 'toons recently are CRAP. They should be cancel it, the only ones I like from them are the Aqua Team and Sealab, in fact the Clone Wars should be in Adult swim too (due to violence).

-> Is there anyway we could get the Anime Network? Since Cox Cable, Dish Network, and Direct TV doesn't carry them in Vegas. :(

I have comcast and I don't have it ...I think its satellite

My friend has Comcast Digital Cable and he some anime channel on On Demand. Is that what you are talking about? I have DirecTV satellite and I don't have an anime channel and I get everything.

The new in-house stuff is pretty crappy. Though Stroker and Hoop isn't bad, but that is the only one that comes to mind that is any good. I wish Clone Wars was on AS. I haven't really watched it and I would like to.

The Clone Wars is an awesome movie.

Yes, I said movie. ;)

I bought the DVD for the Clone Wars because of the show's format...
20 different 5-minute episodes was just horrible for the home-made recording. :(

The DVD takes all the episodes and makes them into a movie. 👍
I still haven't bought Vol. 2 and I don't know if they have made Vol. 3 but I will have my eye out for both of those since the first one was so good.

Regarding that "Anime Channel"...
I know there is one but I don't know who carries it or anything like that. :(
Actually, I saw a commercial for it at the begining of my most recent rental- an ADV dvd called "New Fist of the North Star."
Wasn't too bad but not exactly something I would buy.

Plus, it wasn't a remake of the original so the story was lacking. :irked:
However, if you're looking for the Ultra-Violent type with strained emotional content and over-the-top martial arts then "NFOTNS" might be for you.

Anyway, back to the point...
The anime channel had an ad at the begining of this DVD and it looks like ADV is big on that channel (they do some cool stuff if you ask me).
Of course, the commercial basically came down to those famous words... "Call your cable provider." :(

Oh well, but atleast we know it's out there (the anime channel that is).

Is FMP:F Full Metal Panic Fumofu? If it is, I've seen like three or four episodes of it and it is pretty funny stuff.

Anyone here a fan of the Street Fighter series? A couple friends and I picked up the new Street Fighter Alpha: Generations today. One of my friends has been really excited about it for a long time, and man did that movie ever suck. We watched the last Street Fighter movie a couple days ago to prepare us for this one, but it was a total disappointment. The story just leaves you confused, and the "fight" scenes just leave a lot to be desired. After a long wait, it was a real let down. I strongly recommend not buying it.

i saw street fighter;2 the animated movie when it came out. that was really good. :)

i also saw street fighter alpha and that really sucked.

My replies have slowed down but I'm watching just as much as usual.

Lately I've noticed some good stuff too. 👍

Samurai Champloo is back with new episodes.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is on CN.
GITS: SAC is back with a second gig (although I still don't think the series is very good... not bad though).

As for new stuff I've seen lately other than what is listed above...
I can't say I've seen much. :(
How can I complain though!
NGE and new Champloo episodes!!! That's awesome and surely enough to hold me over. :D

Although I wonder...
Does anyone know what's on "Anime Unleashed" these days?
I think they are doing Rahxephion (or something like that).
Haven't had the chance to really check it out but from what I saw it looked like eye-candy laced with the typical philosophical explorations of a main character (dude) surrounded by chicks.
If any of you know anything about the series feel free to speak up and let me know if it is worth tuning in to watch the show. :D

In anycase, I'm just happy to have NGE on cable!

ok, if you haven't seen NGe. Can someone tell me what does the tree of life looks like?

Yeah, I pretty much also lost faith in GIT:SAC. Did you also get frustrated with the constant moving away from the main story? I like the side stories every now and then, but it was getting stupid where every other episode is that way.

I haven't been watching NGE, even though I haven't seen it, on CTN. I guess the main reason for that would be that since I own NGE on DVD I can watch it any time.

I sure wish I would have known earlier about the new episodes of Samurai Champloo. I missed the first episode of the new ones.

Anyone been watching Full Metal Alchemist? They have had new episodes on lately too and they have been pretty good. Every time I think that the series is going down hill, I watch an episode and that goes away. The story just seems to keep pulling me back in.

code_kev
Nope, too addicted to Stargate Sg1, Atlantis, and Lost.

You watch SG-1 and Atlantis too? That is freakin' awesome.

Haven't kept up with FMA lately. :(
Well, not really... Although, I did catch a scene a day or two ago where "wenry" was in a ventalation duct with another girl. They were both attacked by "lust" (I think that's her name... It's the female hummugulus). When wenry was attacked, she recognized lust and said it was 🤬 !
Also, the other day I found the story I was looking for... :trouble:
Knowing the final outcome of FMA makes me want to see the whole series. 👍

Regarding "Ghost"
I've actually been put-off most by the main story.
I get tired of the overly philosophical blabber between elite special forces types. :indiff:
However, I love when they get down on what they really know- warfare!
The new season has been good about this too. Each episode seems to be a little more action and less thinking (as bad as that sounds it is actually good ;) ).

... Champloo...
Same old.
Some of the history for Logan came out (where he was raised and some of the ties he still had to his home village). (that was an awesome episode btw).

There have also been some off-subject episodes that were highly entertaining, such as Logan's attempt to get some leading to a crazy fight. ("bogus booty"). (another great episode).

Finally, the one new CN show I've wanted to see more than any of the above...
NGE.
Basically, I need to buy the DVDs. :guilty:
The show's awesome and has excellent story development.
Each episode seems to steadily develop the story while keeping short term entertainment value.

It's a perfect example of what a good show should be. 👍 👍

Anyway... I'm out.
Catch you all later.
Till next time,

Dang, you already know the outcome of FMA. What are you, Chuck Norris or something? But I have found FMA to be very entertaining lately. I just wish I had the time every night to watch the show from the very beginning so I could actually know a little more of what is going on. At times, I am kinda lost and just kinda try and piece things together.

Actually now that you say that about GIT:SAC, I think I am in agreement. Whenever they have had action on the series, it has been really good. I just think I have had more of a problem with the main story because I don't really see it going anywhere in particular.

Who is Logan? I am pretty much lost on Champloo for the same reason I am at times with FMA. I have missed a couple episodes or skipped around with the episodes and it has led to some confusion.

I pretty much agree with what you have to say about NGE, except that I already own the DVDs. I just need to take the time and watch all of them.

I think I have a problem with time management and getting things done. For example, right now I should be studying for a final that takes place tomorrow at 8:00 tomorrow, but instead I am posting in this thread at the moment. I think I need a roundhouse kick from Chuck Norris to make me figure out this passage of time thing.

Wish I could help with that Vash but I'm doing the same thing.

Exams all week long.
Court for my car accident tomorrow.
A paper due on thursday.

:(

I should manage but video games and net time definately screw with my time management more than they should. :guilty:

Regarding Anime...
"Logan" is the one with the scruffy chin and break-dancing martial arts style.
How's this? (see attachment)
