I watching Elfen Lied on Netflix. it's quite interest and disturbed. I don't know what they saying. I'm deaf, and there's no subtitle.

Yea, there's no question that Elfen Lied is disturbing. You can tell just from the opening scene that it's not going to be a charming, fun anime.

After the mind trip that was NGE, I have moved on to less serious shows and I'm going to try watching more than one at a time for once. I'm now on Angel Beats!, which through 2 episodes looks good, and Panty & Stocking, which is an absolute riot. It's easy to see the American shows like Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Girls that inspired the design in the artwork.

Okay, so the last two episodes focused on the characters. Their insecurities, fears, emotions.. whatever. And the last episode was Shinji coming to terms with himself.... but am I the only one who feels it was all out of place? I don't know, it just feels like I'm missing something.

I just got mind raped and then treated to some weird happyish ending. But that was only in Shinji's mind. The story didn't have a conclusion, which bothers me. and the complete drop in animation quality bugged me a little bit, but not too much.

You know what? It's 5:30 AM.... I'm going to sleep now and I'm going to watch EoE tomorrow.

I just finished End of Eva, and it's on a whole other level from the series ending. There wasn't the same "ok wtf happened" with EoE, it was more the "ok that's sort of creepy" type wtf. I don't think there are words to describe the entirety of Eva. Never has an anime made me sit and psychoanalyze myself the way Eva did. I kept putting off watching it because I expected it to seem so dated, but I was completely wrong. I should have watched it sooner.

They sort of had their budget cut by a lot even though it was kind of their own fault. Without that happening though then no doubt we wouldn't have EoE. That movie won't make you feel happy but it is pretty awesome.
