I forgot too mention that I get all hipster when people keep saying I should watch, buy, read something just cause everyone else likes it. But to tell you the truth, I'm not going to watch it just cause some show-off got her head bit off I just don't want too watch it because it wasn't what I was looking for is all.

And if you want a hook in episode 3 of something, watch episode 3 of Durarara!! Because I knew this show would be good the mintue I read that strange title.

We're not telling you to watch Madoka "because it's good" in the sense that everyone else likes it. We're telling you to watch it, because the show is ACTUALLY a good show; story, concept, lasting impression, character development, etc.. Your argument is arguably flawed because chances are, you decided that you would watch Durarara because it's popularity has been exposed to you, or you've heard good word about it, which would contradict what you said about how you pick your shows. Someone maybe not be telling you directly to watch a show, but the exposure to images or videos is a form of advertising to you, where the person posting the media is making you aware of its existence and at a subtle level, to get you to watch it. Our avatars are in a way an advertisement for a show or anything it's depicting. You might be curious enough to learn who that is, what it is and what show it's from. You might even get the idea it must be a good show to me if I went as far as making a picture of it my avatar.

I personally really doubt that your reason for watching the show is a huge factor for watching it.
