Awww man! TVBoy! You and me just became best friends as of today!
Man Kazehana and that Homura chick are HAWT! but wait...isn't Houmura a guy......? AH WELL STILL HOT EVEN BEFORE HE WENT INTO HEAT AND HAD THOSE CHANGES!
I don't watch anime for fan service.....most of the time.
You said that you being at school for 6 hours a day is like having a full-time job. I'm saying that it's not like having a full-time job unless you work 6-7 days a week. It shouldn't need to be stated that you have less time since it's already obvious.
However, you stated you liked Endless Eight, and found Haruhi season 2 very good, that arc being one reason why.
No matter the point they made in it, pulling a move like that pretty much makes it bad, especially since the viewer gets tired from watching it, no matter whether you're marathoning it (As I've heard from people who marathoned it, it was a very terrible idea looking back), or watching one episode every 5 years.
So just because it's a time loop makes it bad? So that must mean that Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray is a bad film because he is repeating the same day over and over again, despite that Groundhog Day is in the United States National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
That also must mean that 50 First Dates is also a bad movie because Adam Sandler has to repeat winning over the same girl over and over again. It's not a time loop but the same concept is applied here.
You also watched Endless Eight, at your leisure, knowing that it would be the same eight episodes. I watched it as it aired, so your frustration is moot compared to those like myself who waited for 2 months, hoping that it would conclude.
You seriously expect me to remember a show I watched almost two years ago that I didn't complete or really care much about to remember in explicit detail?
Yes, but you still got on me about not seeing why Steins;Gate is considered an absolute masterpiece, so that's not putting words in your mouth completely. Steins;Gate I found excellent, but I can't see how it was a masterpiece for people. I stated my reasons near the end of our argument at ARM that I linked to, but to put it simply, the first half dragged the show down.

Point taken, but it still shows I don't have as much free time.

I haven't seen those movies you're referring to, so I can't comment on them really.
As for Endless Eight, it was the way it went about timeloops (Luckily it wasn't as bad as Magikano which I went on about earlier). As I've said before, they made it 8 episodes, which BTW made it much longer than in the novels. They repeat the same thing 8 times (Only with people wearing different clothes, having different angles), and end up being redundant.
Steins;Gate is a show that did timeloops great, and much better. While you have the same conclusion every time such as (Second half spoilers)
Mayuri dying every time
the events leading up to it were different, but you still had the same conclusion
Mayuri dying.
With Endless Eight, it would have been done better in 8 episodes if they had more different events, but those still repeated tons of times, causing
Nagato to get sadder and sadder, and in the end start to have emotion.
Like 1 episode they go to the arcade, another they go to the beach, they go out sightseeing, and Nagato later explains they repeated going to the arcade like 9000 times, but for the other 6000 some times, they went to the bon festival.
You would have eight episodes with different things (You could repeat the pool scene every time as that's where Kyon notices something), causing the viewer to not get bored, but in the end Nagato
is still getting sad, and starting to have emotion because she repeated those events tons of times, even though we didn't see those events. She would still explain they repeated that summer vacation multiple times, but each one had a few differences.
You're basically showing the viewer different things, having those eight episodes differ, but you still get the same conclusion
Nagato getting bored, sad, and getting emotions.
Showing the viewer the same things 8 times in a row, and in 24 minute increments was the problem. This is something I've agreed on with a few people (They're two of the top reviewers on MAL). Here we go on responses...(First person gave S1 a 9, S2 a 6, second, S1 a 7, S2 a 5)
As for Endless 8, I agree that it could have been condensed into two or three episodes. I'm currently watching Andromeda, and one of the episodes had a "Groundhog Day" style story where multiple timelines were explored, but the main events remained the same until the best future was found. They managed to do all of that in around 40 minutes, which is why Endless 8 doesn't work.
I think time loops are a cool concept but making them almost identical and about people who don't even care to change something is just a pain in the ass.
I understand how it is important for Haruhi to create the endless eight but at the same time I have seen something ten times better in the Beautiful Dreamer movie.
If Steins;Gate came out before season 2 was about to get made, it would have been better for them to look at that for how to do timeloops. There's also the 3 episode thing I've suggested before.
Also while I watched the episodes at my leisure (I watched it in 3-4 some weeks), here's the thing, before I knew what Endless Eight was (All I knew was it was just some arc in Haruhi season 2-and at the time, I was unaware of how most people don't think well of season 2. I thought most people found it awesome), I could guess just from the title, "Endless Eight", this thing was 8 episodes, and when I learned what it was about, I was right.
If you could guess episode titles, you could get it goes on for eight episodes. When I talked to many people who watched it while it was airing, they said to others it would go on for eight episodes, but most people said to them it wouldn't, and it would go on for 3 full years even. Those that said it was eight even as early as the first episode were right.
Though yes, my frustration isn't as bad as those who watched it while it aired, and couldn't guess it was going to be eight episodes. I still am allowed to be frustrated with Endless Eight.
You seriously expect me to remember a show I watched almost two years ago that I didn't complete or really care much about to remember in explicit detail?
Oh, so he was being opinionated by saying those elements ruin Trigun and Rurouni Kenshin, shows I find great ruin it for everyone? If it was "break shows for people like me" instead of "everyone else", then it would have been fine.
Also, an example of me moving on is better here. This is how I responded to the guy I was talking about the 5 Centimeters Per Second ending who found it really good as he felt it fit the tone of the movie well.
BigOnAnime
Personally I felt it wasn't a good closure, but I digress. To each their own on how it ended. Regardless, it still was a very good movie that's well worth watching. My favorite Shinkai work though still remains The Place Promised In Our Early Days.
them getting married, someone getting killed, them talking to each other (Something they hadn't done since the first half of the show), and then never seeing each other again.
And yet, you still don't stop.
This is how you look every time you post those walls of broken logic.

I said it before and I'll say it again, this discussion is over.
And neither have you stopped replying. When one of us stops, that's when the argument truly ends. You kept replying, even though you knew I wasn't going to stop. You kept giving me something to reply to. Don't want to be involved in this anymore? Stop replying.
Also you never actually said the discussion was over. You merely said "You just don't know when to stop, do you?", as what I'm guess is you got tired of the argument. If so, I know where you're coming from on that as when I was a little kid, I kept telling the other person to stop, usually when I couldn't win the argument.
Well umm everyone in GL died (To me) soooooooooooo yeeeeeeaaaa. besides i don't even know how to put stuff in spoiler tag thingys. and Shirley was more a minor character anyways....just....yea. AND WHO EVER DIDN"T WATCH IT YET HAD SOME YEARS TO WATCH IT! SO WHATEVA I'M JUS GON ROLL WIT IT! PICTURE!
You watching the wrong ones, Cano! You need to watch the OVAs! I freakin' love the Slayers! once you get past the first season though it gets waaaaaaaaaaaay better!

It wasn't so much the caps locking, it was more the erratic surge of overemotional typing like a fangirl. I can understand splooging if it's something you've longed for, but this attitude or emotion really and truly need not be explicitly expressed down to word slurring to communicate the emotion itself every time.......calm down, guy.
So had a go at the first two eps of Madoka .
First and most importantly i wasn't expecting the nichijou'ish style characters, the scenery was very well done pretty top notch actually, but i cant help feeling it was let down just sleightly by the characters rather "dull" appearence. Its not big deal but just my opinion that i think they lost abit of appeal in that area.
Well i shall soldier on then. EDIT

They were indeed but once you watch more shows, you will notice the really pretty shows tend not have well developed stories. The art is a factor to deciding whether or not you will watch a show, but ultimately the story is what you will care about the most.

Can't we all just be friends without all the BS about how one person has typing habits...
I can't help it since I'm mostly on MSN talking to my bubby from France and all. We just get hyped about a lot of things, ya know? and I'm not the biggest fan of using stupid ass emoticons and ****. except sad face, that's my favorite.
