Yes, it's been subbed. Fansubs are already out since the movie came out on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan last week. I have no idea who's subbed it as I haven't bothered to look.

Ok, thanks, just as long as the fan sub is good.

As to what I've been watching recently, after an unplanned break, I watched the first 5 episodes of Oreimo in a row. That show is just so awesome.

Hunter x Hunter (2011) would be up your alley then when it comes to action. It's still airing with 41 episodes out already.

As for comedy, try The Tatami Galaxy, it's absolutely amazing.

The general idea of getting someone into anime is to ease them in. Tatami Galaxy is amazing, but the subs are crazzzyy fast. And starting with an airing show is ridiculous.

If you want a good action show Jwolf, go with Darker Than Black. You can also find it dubbed on Netflix if subbing is a problem for you(which it shouldn't be, but you never know). You should also give Cowboy Bebop a try, great action and some pretty awesome humour. It's very western as well and one of the few dubs I actually recommend.

There's always the 1999 version of Hunter x Hunter if you want finished (I haven't seen it, but heard it's good, and in certain aspects better than the current adaption). That was 64 (?) episodes, and had a bunch of OVA's.

Hey there everyone, I'm sure this question has been asked many times but do you recommend any good animes? I'm not sure where to start really. I personally would prefer something more action oriented but also some comedy. Any input would be appreciated. :)

Cowboy Bebop.

The sub is very good as is the movie. 👍

Don't be like me - I dived straight into Evangelion after watching Initial D.

I agree with Sephy - watch Cowboy Bebop. If you want comedy, try Excel Saga.

Doesn't look a thing like her. Wanna guess who it is? (for those who don't know)

Was imagining more foreshortening, but human body parts are difficult to draw from your mind in perspective.

NEWS -> Uh oh, this is going to be (very, very) big.

I'd probably do a lot better on larger paper but then I can't scan it. Means I can't do digital airbrush because I'd still have to redraw the lines on computer which I tried to avoid by going with smaller paper. I'll try to figure out some lighting setups that will get me sufficient results with large paper.

Mind you, I find it far, FAR easier to draw on small surfaces for a reason: I can see the whole thing in one sweep look and check if the proportions are right.

As you know, I sometimes do big-ass car-toons, and I have done a few of them entirely by hand on a giant 50x70cm piece, and GOT DAMN is it difficult to maintain proportions and get perspectives right. When I draw small, I can get proportions, perespective and that stuff right most of the time.

Whoa, great stuff nk4e! 👍

Oh, there's an anime thread here? Only took me ten years to notice that. I'm hecka weeb lol. Been doing cons for 12 years now and been pretty involved in the cosplay community (through my GF) for the past four or so. I also do figures, dollfie dreams (ridiculous money pits...) and all the other stuff.

I was a big Fate fan, especially of Saber, until Fate/Zero came along and brought a whole bunch of people into the community that kinda ruined it for me for a while. Loved Carnival Phantasm, though. I just (finally) got talked into watching Oreimo and ended up totally loving Kuroneko, to the point that I immediately went on Mandarake after watching it and ordered these two:

Well at least you found it. You seem like you can be a worthy member of our twisted little community, you'd be the first guy that's into cosplay and all that. Keep frecuenting this place and tell us what else you love. And don't talk about Initial D.

Welcome.

Talk about figurines:
