Yeah. On the DVD I got from Netflix there was an episode called Nina and Rei Danger Zone. It's a full half-hour episode that takes place before Rei had her Ducati and Nina and Rei were a team.
Before the Ducati was the Impreza?
That's the one with the little RC car right? I own that.
Not really. Japan hardly gives a 🤬 about the North American anime market these days. VERY few anime in the past couple of years have been targeted towards us. Relying on foreign sales isn't enough as the money they get overseas is not enough to make even half of a normal budget 12 episode show. The thing is that even if they're not getting revenue from the site, every time somebody watches a video on a streaming site, that adds to a statistic that the producers of anime are looking at when they decide what to make and how to distribute it. We're at a point where the industry is considering the foreign market more and more, and we're now affecting what actually gets made in addition to just what gets translated. The Japanese market has traditionally relied on DVD/BD sales to fund productions, and they've really fallen off in the last few years, so they've been looking much more to foreign markets as a core source of funding.
Crunchyroll and other sites are licensing content from the producers and distributors. When they get the money from ads, that money goes right to paying for the content.
How would this start another argument...?Oh god, don't start another argument TC.
*facepalm*
Awesomeness.

So when will this happen? The other party hasn't responded, so the discussion on the piracy/Japan giving a crap about us issue is pretty much dead. You're both wrong. It won't start an argument per se, it'll just be two people rambling about two different subjects, like they somehow relate to each other when the point of it is non-existent..
