Well I did end up getting the Samurai X OVA Collection. So far, I've only watched Trust. I've read it was supposed to be pretty bloody; well I went into watching Trust knowing this and was shocked at how bloody it is. Though I do think I was expecting more of the gore farther in the movie; I think the fact that it starts right from the beginning was what shocked me. Otherwise, I didn't think the blood was that bad at all. Trust is very well done, and it does explain more of Kenshin's past. Very good stuff! Definitely check it out if you like RK. Now I just need to getting around to watching Betrayal and Reflection.

the OVA series is the only RK stuff that is worth a watch. if you ask me, the series is LA-ME. if you saw the ovas before watching the series, you wont even stand how IDIOTIC the series are and how much of an asshole Kenshin has been turned into. Hell, even music will be a joke. The 4 OVAs are awesome and have an excelent production and great story, a must-see wheter you like kenshin or not. just dont watch the series.

aaah,.. its good to be back.

Well so far, I've only watched Trust and Betrayal. I haven't gotten to Reflection yet, and the movie isn't in the OVA Collection (guess I'll have to pick it up on Amazon.com, eBay, or BestBuy.com . . . along with the 2nd and 5th Sessions of Cowboy Bebop); but Trust and Betrayal are just awesome. The animation is done very well and the story is great. But unlike you, I think seeing the OVAs adds that much more to Kenshin's story; it adds more of his background and his trials and tribulations through life. I find it amazing that a man could bear killing all the men Kenshin did, even though it is totally against his beliefs; also, I find it amazing that he could carry on after the end of Betrayal, after having lost the one person who kept him from turning into the Battosai (permanently). By seeing Kenshin's past, it makes me realize how much a human being can take and not totally cave in on themselves. The fact that after killing all of these people he wished to repent for his sins and help others by being so selfless is amazing. Not only will I continue to watch the series and the OVAs, but I will continue loving RK. Nothing against you Cano, but I think you are wrong in your evaluation of the RK series. But then again, who ever cares what a Humanoid Typhoon thinks???

I DO care. you have a point you know? and its true, indeed the OVA series add a LOT to kenshin series. the thing I cant stand is just how badly produced the series was and how stupid kenshin turned out. the OVA kenshin ruled. this one says oroooo and then you are suposed to laugh. LAME.

and, yeah, go take the maddox personality quiz. it roolz. and stop watching initial D. it will drain your brains.

I'm midway through the fifth season of One Piece, and man is it getting good. The story is just chocked full of interesting characters.

We've seen 11 instances of Devil's fruit and supposedly there is 30, I can't wait to see a throw down between more than just a couple crappy fruits. Let's go Luffy, take on Buggy and Yarlita. :D

Alright guys, I just rented vampire hunter D: bloodlust. I don't want any spoilers, but I figured I would let you all know what I'm hoping for and what I already think of the vhd original.

Vampire Hunter D was the first anime I ever saw as an adolescent. (That being the dividing between youngster 80's tv series anime and full blown adult anime.)

So, needless to say, I greatly respect and revere the first vhd. Will bloodlust match the animation quality? I would think the new age anime style could easy make for good eye candy.
Will the story be a classic like the first... I mean, father is dracula w/ saving the young beauty from an evil super vamp. (who's still no dracula :trouble: )

Only watching the movie will tell, but I will come back as soon as I watch it. Talk to you all then. ;)

Dude, Sailor Jupiter was hot!

IMO, it's one of those 'starter' animes, to get you hooked. I've since then grown out of Sailor Moon and I will admit to watching it.

As for me...

First off, no sailor moon here. (ever!) only seen clips of it when they did the occassional airing on cn. (that means I saw those clips for the first time after being into adult anime for atleast 5 years)
(I still hate when people act like watching voltron at the age of 7 means you have been into anime for the last 14 years.) (atleast, that's how it would be for me... but no, cause Im honest... I consider myself to have started with anime when ... 1. I knew it was anime. 2. when I started with real adult anime.)

Anyway, back on topic...

Vampire Hunter D: bloodlust.
I thought it was great.
Just what I wanted.
With the new animation the eye candy factor was incredible. As for the story... I was suprised, they actually did a good job of retaining the elements of the first movie, which made it a classic, yet managed to change the story so there were new elements that have not been over used in the past.

I was really happy with the story. Just enough action, just enough dialoge...

I give vampire hunter D: bloodlust an enthusiastic 👍 👍
(2 thumbs up = very good.)

Im just sad about the fact that it took me so long to actually take the time to watch the movie... I mean it's been out for a long time, and I had known long, long ago that it was coming out.
(btw, I have some friends who have now had to eat their words as it happens that I told everyone about 6 or 7 years ago that a new vhd would be coming out... :D ) (guess those guys feel like idiots now for not believing me... :trouble: )

Hey GoKents, I know you like anime, and you got some fine tastes as well. (Vampire Hunter D: BL kicks arse)

Have you seen One Piece? I'm addicted to it. I have the first seven series on DVD, plus the 4 movies and one TV special. I'm almost done with the series DVD's I have and am going to move on to watch the remainder, it's some really good shizzle. You should definitely check it out. :D

I started watching yukikaze yesterday, it cannot compare with macross zero on any levels, i'm not entirely sure how to feel about it yet, it looked cool in the ads, but seems to be failing in its expectations.

had the same feeling here, there was just no characters that stood out like they do in macross . its the matlock of anime. the concepts are great but no fun at all.
