Does anyone recommend Space Brothers?
Yep. ^_~
I haven't finished it, but it hasn't done a poor job as far as I got. I got impatient because I wanted the series to end asap and stopped around episode 49.
I've seen it all(99 eps of Space Brothers), and I imagine there'll be more to come once a few more manga volumes come out. Hey, it happened with Fairy Tail. :)

99 episodes...

When you think about it, wouldn't it take about 99 weeks to get a rocket to Mars?

Well, if anyone here hasn't seen Angel Beats, I personally recommend it. Especially if you're an emotional masochist like me.

Oh man, the feels. The many, many great little character moments.

Also I nominate Yurippe for new Best Girl.

Apparently not, because Nanba is still not in space by ep49.

Yeah I spoiled something, but I didn't spoil anything that needed to to be kept secret.

Nah, it's fine. I was wondering why the show had so many episodes

I'm gaining a preference for shows that don't overstay their welcome. Mainly because shows like Supernatural and Walking Dead ruined themselves by stretching the story for profit as-opposed to telling the story they needed to then ending it.
Ironically when it comes to anime, they keep things as short as possible for more profit as the vast majority of anime, adaptations, are made simply to get sales of the source material to increase. Hence why very, very few adaptations ever are completed.

Longer than one cour is a rarity these days, especially anything longer than two cours unless it's some children's toyetic anime.

Finished Mirai Nikki. Soooo many feels.

I think I need to watch something funny or moe next. I cant handle all these feels.

You mean to say Nanba didn't become an astronaut in 99 episodes?
He has become a astronaut, but he hasn't gone on a mission into space yet in the anime

Watched Rebellion, it was a'ight.

Angel Beats Spoilers:
Kanade's theme plays when Otonashi signs the donor card? Oh foreshadowing, how I always miss your graceful touch!

When Angel Beats aired, I never finished the series. Or that episode about Yui for that matter, I couldn't take it. Manned up and placed an order for the BD, I need to prepare myself for feels.

Theme of Kanade is nice. One of my most memorable and favourite tracks of the bunch.

Some of my other favourites include (but not in any particular order):

Initial Impulse
Let's Operation <-ballin'
Worthy Rival
Theme of SSS
Theme of Otonashi, a derivative of Theme of SSS.

what's the theme of Madoka Magica?

What you really want is this one (watch it on youtube):

Yep, totally went over my head. :dunce:

EDIT: Honest question by the way, to anyone, what's the theme of Madoka Magica?

Primary themes: Not all that glitters is gold. With great power comes great responsibility. Know your enemy. Effort does not always equal reward; sometimes, you need to forcibly take what you want. Never give up hope. Your true friends are always there for you.

Secondary themes: Madoka is love, Madoka is life. Head tilts at that angle are only possible in anime. Keeping your hair bouncy is the key to getting girls to fall in love with you. Don't trust talking animals.

Okay, I was only serious about the primary themes. But really, it's such a shame that Homura never gave an answer to that one girl in the first episode who asked her what shampoo she used. That said...

... Sometimes, the answer is obvious. :X

Just saw the latest ep of Fairy Tail and had this thought go through my mind...

If the current arc concludes the same weekend as the FIFA World Cup Final, I will not be surprised

Nice. :D

3/4s of the time, you will start to fall over whilst attempting a Shaft head tilt.

Cute gif, too.

The theme of Madoka Magica is either Connect by ClariS or Magia by Kalafina, depending on whether you want the OP or ED.

My Engurishu! :ouch: I am getting sloppy. Well played.

Celtic music makes me wanna shoot myself in the head. That OP is pretty enjoyable after a while. :)

Mhmm, got it. 👍

I swear, that pic of you is shopped.
Cute pic, too.
FTFY.

Yeah, Connect does grow on one more and more the more they listen to it, which is strange, because it's supposed to be a throwaway pop song that does the exact opposite of that.

I am going to attempt that head tilt as much as possible. Given that work's stupendously busy right now, it might be fun to use to make myself look overworked and insane. Only an overworked and insane person would attempt such a thing!

@AOS-

Gotta love Decisive Battle, purely because it was the accompaniment to so many badass moments. That said, Angel Flight is a good variation, and Tactics is excellent. Operation...STARTO!

SSS Theme and Kanade are probably my favourite though. I mean genuinely, after watching this Anime I registered as a donor with the NHS. Which sounds silly that an Anime prompted me, but it made me realise that everyone dies, and well, like Otonashi, perhaps it'd comfort me when it comes to know it's not all bad news.

Connect is utterly brilliant, and I thought so from the moment I heard it. Gonna get a little "music"-y here, but I love the way the chord sequence rises into a crescendo in the chorus, the way the drums build at the end of the verses, the "stuttering" effect near the end of the chorus ("itsumo mat-te-te"), the swelling violins, the awesome solo after the first verse, and the fact that it's so distinctly "pop", yet feels so orchestral and natural. It has a perfect, bittersweet melody, too, and even though I don't understand the lyrics without checking a translation, the song sounds almost "hopeful", in a way - and the fact that it's so damned catchy...

If you weren't singing along with at least the "kujikenaaaaai" at the end of the show-length version, then you were probably skipping the intro. ;P

I can't fault it, personally. Luminous and Colorful are fantastic, too. Turned me into a massive ClariS fan, mere weeks before they broke up. :X

... Then I started watching Oreimo and, when I heard them singing the intro, was absolutely ecstatic. Anyway, I don't know whether or not I mentioned this here before, but I'm actually a musician who specialises in eurobeat (see: weeaboo dance music) - and I'm currently putting together an English-language remix of Connect. If it's a success, I'll do more anime remixes, so when it's done, I won't hesitate to post it here.

Well, I've had some time to think over Rebellion after watching it. I have to be honest, it didn't do all that much for me.

Homura's betrayal kinda makes sense, but also feels a bit out of character. Plus I feel it was more a twist ending to set up a sequel that never came. It was cool to see Mami and Sayaka again, and Kyuko x Sayaka was a nice moment for the two. Still, the ending left me feeling...disappointed. I dunno, it felt like it rewrote everything achieved by Madoka for not too much gain for any except Homura, and it's difficult to feel closure about it.

Also, this movie was almost entirely in the style of the Witch Labyrinths from the series, which tbh were my least favourite aspect of it. I understand their point, but they're annoyingly chaotic to try and wrap my head around, and thus become white noise that I zone out of.

That said, Mami vs Homura was damn epic, and I was glad that Absolute Configuration came into a suitably badass section. It was fun to see the girls all actually working together at once, happy, even if it involved weird cake songs. Homura's collapse into witchdom was interesting, and I suppose the cause of her sudden daemonic disposition. Seeing Kyubey get repeatedly killed, and then left as a crushed pulp at the end was satisfying, though.

Also Bebe appearing out of nowhere, no idea who they're meant to represent, but moving on. I'm still trying to work out what Homura is meant to be other than a self-serving deity who likes Madoka.

Due to the lack of any way of watching it  I have as yet been unable to see Rebellion...

I've managed to keep fairly spoiler free. I hope. I've picked up that Homura goes mad and that it's really depressing. Not much else. I've also heard that it's one of those things that people tend to appreciate more after they've sat down and had a think about it and perhaps rewatch it, ala End of Evangelion. (Oh, how I hated that film when I first watched it. Not now.)

Anyway, if I've been kind of inactive anime wise lately it's because I'm catching up with the 3D TV. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.

Roger, I'd like to introduce you to two wonderful things; the Internet, and the Malleability of Conscience within it. ;)

Avatar test of new Best Girl.
