The cool thing about Maiden is (for the most part) they do a good job covering their entire catalog when they tour. Usually each album has 2 tours. The first tour they play a lot of the new album. The second tour they play a set with a song from all of or most of their albums (minus the two Blaze albums, expect on the BNW Tour). Another song I wish would return the the set is Wasting Love 👍

Wasting Love would be very welcome.

Such an underrated song, as is Sea of Madness. That intro riff is epic.

Back in the Villages intro riff 2 is great as well. I love that.

True fact, I listen to way too much Iron Maiden...

I listen to every one of those too. Except two, which are the ones from the Brink. I like to see The Thin Line Between Love and Hate on your list. That is a spectacular song. I wish Media Player had a way of showing most played songs.

The Thin Line Between Between Love & Hate is one of their best songs in my opinion. I've recently downloaded a few songs from Dance of Death, Rainmaker is my favourite so far. 👍

Dance of Death's best songs are

Wildest Dreams
Rainmaker
Dance of Death
New Frontier
Age of Innocence

Paschendale is great but I never cared for it or much of the rest of the album. The entire thing is great, just those are the best in my opinion.

Very true, I'm not a fan of Paschendale it must be said. On the subject of Age Of Innocence, have you seen this?

What about Journeyman. For me that is a spectacular song, especially live when Adrian does improv between the chorus and the second verse.

My favourites on Dance of Death are:
Rainmaker
No More Lies
Dance of Death
Paschendale
Age of Innocence
Journeyman

Maybe as a vocalist I'm more appreciative of Journeyman. 💡

Never listened to Journeyman, will look it up. Although that probably does explain why I prefer Rainmaker, as a guitarist..

I don't really care for the album version so much as the electric version, but that I don't even like that much.

Age Of Innocence (How Old?)-Look it up and listen. Nicko sings it and laughs the whole time

I posted that on the previous page. I've never laughed so much in all my life.

Hello thread, 2011 was the year I decided to start really getting into Maiden. I'd always liked two or three of their songs but I never bought albums in general up until last year. So this year so far, I've bought 9 albums (and 2 T-Shirts!). Order of purchase: Somewhere Back In Time, Piece Of Mind, No Prayer For The Dying, Fear Of The Dark, Killers, Somewhere In Time, Number Of The Beast, Powerslave, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son. So basically everything up until 1992 except the Live album and the first one, which I can't seem to find anywhere.

My question is... what next? I've listened to some of the newer stuff thanks to a friend who has more albums than me, but I'm unsure what to buy. Not too keen on the Blayze stuff; I just can't appreciate his vocals. Recommendations?

And for what it's worth: Wasted Years, Wasting Love, Run To The Hills, Chains Of Misery, Quest For Fire, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Fear Of The Dark and 22 Acacia Avenue are some of my faves.

I can send you the songs from their first album if you like? And try Dance of Death, Brave New World, A Matter of Life and Death and The Final Frontier. Some of their best songs have been on the newer albums. Albeit they have taken to a more "Progressive" style in the recent years, it still sounds great. 👍

Prog's good, but I do love the 80s stuff. It's magic.

Final Frontier is a great song. It's an album I'm looking at buying when I'm back in the UK on Monday. See what HMV have got to offer. They've always got Brave New World, and I'll see if A Matter Of Life And Death is there.

Check them out

And that's just vocals. There's drums, guitars and bass only on the related videos for a few of the old songs.

Those master tracks are ripped right off Rock Band 2's DLC. I know how he got them too...

My vote is with Brave New World. All albums from there till the newest The Final Frontier is really good. Any of them are spectacular.

Age Of Innocence (How Old?)-Look it up and listen. Nicko sings it and laughs the whole time

That was the funniest thing I remember hearing it last year. It's hilarious

Ta for the recommendation Skython. I eagerly anticipate my next trip to HMV. £30 on 4-5 albums is money well spent.

Indeed it will be. 👍

I can't stop listening to Rainmaker and Age of Innocence (Not Nicko's Version ) My band have to cover those songs. :)

Age of Innocence is like God when the chorus comes. I love how it just, I don't know, flows.

Best Iron Maiden Album: Powerslave. Here's my collection (the El Dorado album without the picture is actually the exclusive pre-release single I got from their website):

Your No Prayer for the Dying and Iron Maiden albums covers aren't the originals.

Also, anyone know why the logo change since Virtual XI? I like the original better and it just looks stupid. Like not right.

It is a flowing chorus, isn't it. Speaking of chorus' what does everyone think of Starblind's chorus?

Different World flows real nice too. That's one of the reasons I like that song. Starblind, overall, personally I thought it was ok, but I've only heard it a few times and want to give it another chance. Some songs I have to hear it a few times to get the full effect. The Alchemist I like more though.

I can honestly swear I'm the only person who doesn't love The Alchemist. :odd: I think it's a great song, but the rest of the album outshines it. Different World has a great chorus. So does The Prisoner.
