I always thought this was a cool kei car in GT4:

The Mitsubishi Minica Dangan ZZ

The M3 is well represented, but they're missing the original M, the car that kickstarted the whole thing:

I'd also love to see them add a bunch of cars that were in development, showed promise, or at least wild performance claims, but for various reasons were either produced in very limited numbers or not produced at all:

Italdesign Aztec. Conceived as a concept car, the roadster actually did make it into limited production with, I believe, a run of less than 50 cars. Powered by an Audi 5 cylinder turbo:
Italdesign-Aztec-10-1500x1000.jpg

Yamaha OX99-11:
Tandem two seater supercar with a Yamaha F1 engine in the back. Designed during the boom in the early 1990s and I believe killed off by the market crash. Only 3 were built.

Vector W2:
Jerry Weigert's idea of a supercar, famously inspired by aircraft concepts in materials and dashboard design. Used an American V8, I can't remember which one, with added turbocharging, married to, um, a 3 speed automatic gearbox. Always fighting for funds, Jerry also made a number of bad business decisions, ran out of money more than once, and eventually lost control of his company. Only a handful were built. Jerry never stopped fighting to get his dream cars on to the market. Doug De Muro did a very detailed review on one of these a couple of years back.

Jiotto Caspita:
I can't actually remember much about this car except it had, for its time, some really nice curves on it. Japanese, if I recall. And I think it had some kind of link to a lingerie manufacturer? Another one-person's-dream that didn't quite make it.

Speaking of which, it would be great to see the return of the Dome Zero:
art-mg-domezerop2a.jpg

And one of my favourite cars from Gran Turismo 4, the Protomotors Spirra. Originally with a big V8, apparently this car sold in Korea and a handful of other markets for nearly a decade as the Oullim Spirra, powered by a series of V6s. Road tests are rare, as is, from what I can gather, the car itself, but those tests I could find were complimentary. I only know this car exists because of Gran Turismo.

The Nissan Sunny GTi-R not seen in the series since the PS1 era would be a welcome addition for me.

This description is taken from the PAL version of Gran Turismo 2:

In Japan, it's called the Pulsar and in Europe, it's called the Sunny. We'll refer to this GTi-R car as the Pulsar, though, because it's a bit of a star. By 1990, this three-door hatchback was in its fourth generation, firmly establishing itself as a dull but dependable family runabout. The mad GTi-R changed all that beyond recognition. This particular Pulsar's body sports large spoilers front and rear and a large air intake for the turbocharger on the bonnet. Yep, the two-litre, DOHC powerplant has a turbo. Each of its four cylinders has a four-butterfly throttle intake and exhaust mechanisms that work to produce 227 BHP at 6,400 rpm and 210 lb/ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. Power is sent through the five-speed manual gearbox to a four-wheel-drive system, incorporating a centre differential and a viscous limited slip diff. On the road, the Pulsar flies up to 60 mph in a very rapid 5.4 seconds, then the speedo needle edges its way around to 144 mph. If you need to hit the brakes, rest assured that heavy duty ventilated discs up front and solid discs at the rear are worked by an ABS system. This very impressive capability puts the GTi-R on the same level as some serious all-wheel-drive rally-bred machinery such as the Ford Escort Cosworth and the Lancia Integrale - cult cars each one. Sitting on its lowered and stiffened suspension - with 14-inch alloy wheels and low profile 195/55 tyres - the Pulsar GTi-R boasts fantastic grip and traction for such a fast, small, lightweight car. The front tends to be a little nose-heavy, resulting in a handling set-up for mild, predictable understeer through the twisty bits, but feather the throttle, correct the steering here and there as the back end drifts round and you can take the Pulsar GTi-R - and four other people if you wish - for a laugh-a-minute drive.

Ferrari F355 - a revised version of the Ferrari 348, which itself was the last V8 Ferrari that Enzo Ferrari had worked on. It was also the star (and only vehicle) of the classic late '90s racing game F355 Challenge.

VW New Beetle - The old Beetle is already in the game, and the old Mini Cooper has its new counterpart in the game too. Why not have the new Beetle?

Panoz Esperante, Panoz Esperante GTR-1, Panoz Roadster...really anything Panoz makes - I think Panoz cars are really neat and you don't see them often in racing games.

Ford Model T - an undeniable piece of car history. Imagine modding one of these.

Benz Patent-Motorwagen - another undeniable piece of car history. I just think it would be funny to have it in the game after it was in GT4.

Daihatsu Midget - I just think this would be funny too.

I know people say concept cars are concept cars but I like all the concepts from GT4 way better than any VGT. I would love to drive this in GT7 👍🏻
Truly one of the best handling cars...

And you can also count this one too:

Isuzu 4200R concept car from 1989 !

isuzu-4200r-concept-1989-3d-model-ccb3fad4cb.jpg

Two cars I was pleasantly surprised at how well they drive... Especially if you tweak them correctly...
It was a blast and I wish they are back in GT7 .

People may hate concept cars or VGT, they are all the same... Those cars are directly from the mind of designers, how cool is that that we can play with them virtually, test them out...

Not all of them are good, but most of them are not bad

Right now any F–150 XL or XLT, maybe a first (1995) or second gen Expedition. I'd love to see how the first gen Expedition compares with the Urus and the Jimny (it's a compact SUV).
Or maybe they could sign with Westwood to get me a Sonic Tank.

I see that Ford Escort Rs Cosworth (road car/Group A/WRC) is missing from car list.

All Touring Car era (BMW E30 M3/ Mercedes 190E Cosworth/Lancia HF Integrale) has more power available and engine swap available but the Ford Sierra Rs500 Cosworth has maximum Power at 442hp (in reality with minor modification it was able to reach and race with 470/560/700hp) and there is no engine swap available.

There is also the Sapphire Cosworth 2wd/4wd that is missing from car list!

I wish....

Italdesign in general has a glorious portfolio of cars that could be in the game. The VGT car in the game already is a pretty sad example of Italdesign in my opinion.

The aforementioned M1, Nazca, Schigera, Chiron, Cala, W12. Those are just my favorite concepts of theirs but they also did a ton of production cars, several of which are in the game already. I think PD should go hunting for these cars - they're probably in a museum somewhere - and give us a special Italdesign drop.

They were once a great part of the former car lists - especially GT2's - but now they barely make up half a dozen cars in GT7. The non-Japanese, non-supercar late 1990s and early 2000s road car needs to make a huge return. Here are some good examples.

100% agreed. They've skipped over many cars that are now sought-after because modern cars simply don't give you the analog experience that these old cars did. They were modern enough to be "reliable" and comfortable but analog enough that you still had to drive the thing and make it do what you want. I keep saying I'd gladly pay $50 for a big DLC of 90s and 00s cars that features in GT2-4.

one of my go to and favourites in the franchise. When we got it in GT4(plus the 330i) I could live out what I was watching on tv at the time.

I drive this in Project Cars 2, but would love to revisit this in GT7 with PSVR2.

My picks for Volvo are as follows:

242 (First-gen, with the rounded headlights!)
Amazon Sport
P1800
850 T-5R (My dad and I used to drive a black saloon version of these, even if it wasn't necessarily a T-5R.)
S60 Polestar
S60 STCC Race Car (Maybe as a Gr.4 or Gr.3 entry?)

With this in particular, I wonder if Callaway might also be not happy with the C7 Gr.3 being a copy of C7 GT3-R to the point of it being essentially acknowledged in the cafe text.
I could try seeing if they'd be willing to at least discuss Gran Turismo in general, seeing how I literally live ~5mins away from their HQ. I'd be ecstatic to see the C4, C12, C16, and C7 GT1 come to the series, perhaps alongside Lime Rock Park!

If I picked any more Volvos I would pick the 850R, C30 R-Design, S60 R 2004, and Amazon

And

The Dallara Stradale

Dallara Stradale.jpg

First one one is a brutish german übercoupe that sadly never was, the second a light and curvy italian exotic.

In fact, with Stradale we could get 4 cars in one: basic barchetta, roadster, targa and coupe. First one from the dealership, add-ons from GT Auto.

And both with 6-speed manual, thank you very much.

I can't believe there aren't any Honda Preludes in the game yet. I've seen people mention the Mitsubishi FTO and Starion recently, but not Preludes.

There's also a lot of earlier Japanese cars that seem underrepresented right now. Other than the Toyota Sports 800, 2000GT, and Honda S800 there isn't too much until the more famous ones like the early Z and Skyline GT-Rs. I'm surprised the game is missing cars like the Mazda Cosmo and first-generation Nissan Silvia. Other cars from this era I'd love to see include The 1973 Mitsubishi Lancer 1600GSR, 1969 Nissan Bluebird, any Prince Skyline (But I like the early '60s sport coupe the best), First-gen Celica 1600GT, Honda Z600 (or N600), and Datsun Fairlady 2000.

I linked the cars to their applicable threads in the suggestions forum, except the ones that nobody's suggested before. Go vote them up. There's plenty of other non-early-Japanese-cars I could bring up, but I wanted to limit myself. It's GT, old Japanese cars are part of what makes them unique.

Always loved the Prelude. It was the Megane R.S. of the times. Best handling FF and there were enough on the roads, but still low volume.

Oh, I’m also one who mentioned those oldies in various GT7 threads.

Cars I’m also surprised never been in the franchise. Corollas models would seem like a given to represent each generation.

Absolutely, Mazada Cosmo Sport, 1st Gen Celica and Isuzu Bellet should have high priority for next updates in my eyes!

Yes and Prelude (maybe 2nd Gen) and Starion right after these. Since the newest Skyline addition, I’m really into 80s boxes😀

Koenigsegg would be great it’s a complete brand but they only have a few models
Indeed, PD could likely add every single car they ever made. Same with Spyker, the rest of De Tomaso, and the rest of ISO Rivolta's cars, which started with the unique Isetta egg-shaped microcar.

There's also the Heinkel Kabine and Messerschmitt KR200, '50s microcars made by, yes, that Heinkel and that Messerschmitt who both made warplanes for the Germans in WWII.

I'd love to see some of Skoda's older cars in the game too. Skoda has some real motorsport history, so I'm surprised they only have that GTV car in the game right now.

While I'm at it, I'll suggest adding some of MG and Triumph's classic cars (especially the Triumph TR6), the Saab 900, the Saab 66, the Chevy Chevette, and the Pontiac Aztek. The 66 was an affordable compact and capable rally car, the Chevette was a '70s econobox that wouls provide a fun contrast to the Corvette and Chevelle, while the Aztek has that infamous design and an unintentionally iconic role in Breaking Bad.
