Guys I have to say that I was just amazed hearing all the new GT 5 CES replays. They look great and show new cars and tracks but what struck me the most was the sound. Despite the lower quality of the video sounds the variety, roughness and rumble that pops from these videos is just better than anything I ve heart before. I guess one would have to be deaf not to hear that:)

There is a very big improvement on sound compared to prolouge in all areas-screeching, engine sounds and other effects.

On headphones or a surroud system it sounds great.
SLS AMG, Gallardo and McLaren are my favs.

the hype is getting me now to xD i cant belive the sounds.car porn is comming

Just wanted to slip in that in that the sound in those videos is overamplified to quite an extent, so the "snortiness" may well be down to the recording device instead of the cars.

yes, i was thinking that as well.
The audio seems to be clipping due to the recording input being a bit too high, making for a rumble in the engine sounds that make the engines sound like beasts.

But im afraid that is because it's a stage demo where the audio is turned on very loud, and i think it was recorded too loud in the last bunch of videos.

I especially fell for the Super GT cars at Fuji. They almost sound like the real deal, and that's from a poor quality, off screen video!

That mercedes on Indy sounded insane. I wish I didnt read the comments about the recording device :( Imagine that sound coming from your TV.
The race cars on the Nurburgring sound very nice though.

Look, clipping from a mic will only make the sounds worse, not better, Seriously people are you never going to be happy?

The sounds are a big step up from GT5P, lets be happy, and if they sound crap on your TV then you might need to invest in a Sub Woofer, no big deal, and worth every penny.

Yes, theres also a lot of clipping.
It makes the tyre screeching louder, but the engines also rougher.
Some of the SuperGT cars didnt sound too good.

Better than GT4 and Prologue though.

Do you guys think the Gallardo sounds true to life?
Do I care? It's a game, not a real Gallardo... Honestly, as already said, people will never be happy. They moan at the sounds, then they hear some better sounds, and they pick fault in the recording method etc.

Different people saying different things though.

From the footage, Gallardo sounded a bit weak to me.

EDIT: still happy with the videos. Nothing's perfect!

My amp blew a capacitor a couple weeks ago so I'm not as concerned with the sound as I would be if it was working. I'm happy for all of you though...

Exactly NO

So you're been inside a Gallardo while it was revving through the gears?I'm not saying you're wrong. Cars sound different from the inside than they do outside, especially these hyper cars that are meant to be be fast but at the same time comfortable and QUIET on the inside.

No, 'twas not. The grease on one of the caps seized up and it's like a month out of warranty.

the sounds are incredible , the sls sounds so grunty! and the race cars actually sound like race cars... i just hope the pops and flames are added to finish the sounds off :)

The muffler sounds on the nordshleife sound great. However a car engine sound is not limited to farts in the back. The sound does not change only with the speed. The biggest factor is how much throttle you give it.
I wouldn't be concerned at all if I hadn't listened to the gallardo movie. Still in the world of hairdryers on wheels.

I think what people mean is the poor quality recording leads to the extra grunt in the sound, so the cars won't sound like this when you play it, because the sound will be too clean. People see recordings on camera phones on cars with mufflers and compare them to in game shots of prologue and then complain that GT is too clean. And now it sounds good, its all down to the recording, now the actual ingame sounds, some people will never be happy

I'm happy with the sounds now, but the poor quality recording does exaggerate them quite a bit.

The distorsion you hear is due to the high volume of the low frequencies added to the low quality of the mic, plus the compressed sound for internet streaming. Trust me it will sound clean AND loud.

I think every single car sounded great except the Gallardo. It was really bad. maybe it will sound much nice with an upgraded exhaust.

Would you people stop judging the sound of the cars from an internet video recorded at low quality off screen? Seriously, you just CANNOT get an accurate assessment of the game's audio quality with videos like these. Sheesh.

The Gallardo sounds terrible compared to the real car, it doesn't sound like a car at all in fact.

And from what I've heard of the McLaren (in that video on the Indy F1 circuit), it sounds very dull indeed.

Both of these are a shame because they are two of the best sounding cars around.
