FINAL ENTRY

I always loved the colors of the old Williams car in the past with it bright yellow, blue and white. Therefore I decided to use that livery as an inspiration for this design. I changed all the decals to its modern version.

Enjoy and good luck everyone with the competition, there are a lot of great entries already!!

@Slender_Man in the Formula 1 they haven't got Modern day number panels? So I didn't made it for this car. (it's sport mode compatible....) I changed it.

Thanx @Cytoria for the input I used your information to 'enhance' the livery to the VLN serie specs!

Really nice line work @PrinsvOranje it’s a popular livery but rarely have I seen it executed so cleanly!

I thought the idea was to enter the car into a suitable series, so you couldn’t enter a GT3 car into an F1 race, so it would need number boards etc fitting for that series?

Maybe I’m wrong but I thought that was the idea.

Awesome - and you solved the problem I was having with my livery. I Have gone back a few times to update it, and couldn't work out how to get it looking right. The red pinstripe makes so much difference. Fantastic job.

If @Slender_Man tells me that I need a number board than I will definitely add it to the livery!
The RS01 used to races in the VLN series, you can use this guideline for the mandatory sponsor placement.

@Cytoria, thanx I will see what I can do. For the others which also need a few decals. I just made a few here which I couldn't find in the GT-sticker modes.

#188 The Wrangler Racing RSR
History:
40 years ago, the Porsche 934 was the racing version of the 911 Turbo, also called RSR. Based on the Porsche 930 with 400 pieces built from 1976 to 1977, the car was used by private teams according to rules of FIA Gr.4 e.g. in the World Championship for Makes in 1978, the DRM (German Racing Masters) and IMSA GT of the U.S. and also 24 Hours of Le Mans. German driver Eberhard Sindel and Preben Kristofferson from Denmark of Wrangler Racing Team came up with that unique jeans livery which nowadays seems to be forgotten for quite a while.

Fictional story: Just until their grandsons Jonas and Nils met during a track day at Padborg Park and decided to resurrect the legend at Le Mans next year. The result is a slightly different jeans skin compared to the original: some worn-out effects are meant to pay tribute to 40 years of racing heritage. Still unique as a distinctive mark you see the zipper graphics on the bonnet of their Porsche 911 RSR (991).

FINAL ENTRY

Ok, so a few days ago, I posted in an other thread that I like the LEC, but don't have time for it because I'm busy irl and started a new Call of duty addiction...
Then I saw the theme of this LEC...

What I find one of the best things about the livery editor, is that you are able to put old liveries on new cars. If you go check my GTS profile, you'll see that 90% of my creations would fit this LEC theme. As I had a limited time, I was thinking about using an old livery I made, with a few little changes to fit the no-tobacco/alcohol rules.
Although I was planning to quickly modify one design and post it in this thread but what I did was :
modified my 2001 Arrows F1 Livery on the Toyota LMP1 car, modified Niki Lauda's BMW M1 Procar livery on the M3, Made a new livery for the Gr.3 Mustang, based on the Zakspeed Ford Capri, and then stumbled on my old E36 livery...

I thought I would deserve to go to hell if I removed the Warsteiner decals, after I tried some other decals I found that the M-logo looks damn right on this car.
The Fina decals are replaced by Total decals, as Total took over Fina in the 90's and I added some smaller sponsors from existing M6 race cars.
After that I thought I was good to go, but then I decided to review every square in the finish-flag pattern. Don't think anyone would see the difference with my original creation but I had to do it :D

So long story short, I used an old livery I created and made some changes, but you can be sure that I spend more hours on this LEC than I originally inteded :D

Hope you like it!

(will try to update the post on time with a wet conditions pic, but I'm not sure I'll have access to my PS4 on time :/ )

Hats off for taking the risk to present a totally original design, and face the nostalgia power of the other entries.
I thought, when i understood the rules, that @Slender_Man was looking for a new design. So having seen the replicas coming in, I felt I had to do something to bring these liveries into the new age.

Plenty of teams have done a momo livery and jalopnik even had a momo livery contest (I think) but I’ve never liked them or even the original designs. So this brought about the need to do something completely new! I didn’t want to do a replica at all. Just didn’t feel a replica really fitted in here so the only option was an original and the P1 GTR has so many small parts to play with.

For instance, take the design on the bumper right before the front wheel. I filled in the inner section of this and left the rest red. The angle of the wheel doesn’t really show this off very well. also, the front bumper was masked black so the yellow part looks like the bumper has actually been reduced in size...

I could go on and on about the details. I’ve expressed my thoughts on minor details and how I prefer to find cool little bits.

Also, is my car the only complete original?:nervous:

The car behind your original reminds me of something! :D

Good job man, I like your inspiration! (this BMW was the first one my father had, it was an humble 325d, before he went for the new 330d a few years later. Since then it's BMW for life.)

Awesome, I got the bmw virus as wel from my dad, he had an E30 when I was a kid, so a few years ago, I bought one too (316i). He now drives a e36 318is as a daily for 15 years or so. Also got a e36 325i that is waiting to be prepared for trackdays :)

@RealJaySee don't forget your bonus rain shot ;)

Normally tomorrow!

Two days left, already 30 great entries, and we’ve yet to see those of @KK78, @MaRcvdl1, @Thorin Cain and maybe @Teal, @NBDESIGNZ, @VulcanSpirit ...

Picking 3 entries only will be hard once again!
Have one in the works, but haven't decided whether I will be entering this time. Been busy with Daily Cs and preparing a livery for @Bivittavus88's upcoming R.S. 01 one-make race.

Please note that this is a very early work-in-progress screenshot; the main wing decals have since been replaced but I am not sure which ones to use for the endplates. I've tried to look for the ATP logo found on the original PlayStation 911 GT1, but without success, and have already swapped the BMC decals in the image above for the standard GT ones.
