THIS FORTNIGHT'S THEME

This week, we're looking at another "GT" series. Last winner @Sian set this theme, here are the details :

« Some Grand Theft Auto cars are inspired by actual cars, so for this round I want you to pay a tribute to one of the best selling franchise.

It could be any car, replica of a racing car (or not), a modification from Benny's Original Motor Works, racing car with game sponsors, bug truck, ice cream truck, or whatever. company present in the game, coast guard pick-up, police car or FIB ...

The possibilities seem endless to me, I think it can give you some cool stuff!

Only restrictions, ONLY brands present in GTA (any) and Sport Mode safe.
No need for a number, just make sure that the GT number does not spoil the design, and if there is a number, it must not be that of GT (there are stickers which take over those of GTA if necessary, otherwise a single number is sufficient). »


CARS :
- No restrictions.

LIVERIES :
- Inspired by GTA cars and/or brands.

UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS :
- The livery must features GTA brands only.
- The livery must be Sport Mode compatible.

BONUS PICTURE SETTINGS :
- Up to Two Bonus Pictures allowed.
- The pictures must be taken in an US location.

USER MADE DECALS :
- No restrictions.


GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

ENTRY SUBMISSION

- The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here
- Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
- Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following:

- One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
- You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
- Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
- Absolutely no entries which utilize edited/hacked file saves.

- Winner gets to choose the following Fortnight's theme.
- Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
- The Host may ask for the original image/livery and it must be submitted if so.
- It's recommended to share the original livery online (in-game) to prove it’s your work.
- Winner, second and third places will have to share the links of the liveries for the Hall of Fame thread


ENTRY PRESENTATION

- All images shall have preview images which may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction (main and bonus pictures)
- You have to post two main pictures of your entry using the mandatory locations and settings as shown below
- You are allowed to post two bonus pictures in a spoiler with free location and settings (unless the unique restrictions of the week’s theme specify something else)
- You have to make one post with ONLY the 4 pictures and the FINAL ENTRY mark. If you want to add precisions/background story/links, you are allowed to double-post under your entry. The best way to do it will be to "reply" to your own post.

- It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr
- Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
- A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
- Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it; it makes poll creation much easier!
- No heavy post-game editing, slight enhancing is allowed.


MANDATORY PICTURES

- You have to post a front quarter view and a rear quarter view of your car.
- You can choose between the Shiretoko 03 location or the White Sands 01/09 locations. No other location will be allowed for the main pics.

(Adjust these figures to suit the colour of the car)

- If you choose the White Sands 01/09 location, please follow the settings in the spoiler below.
Zoom: around 90mm at stock position
Aperture: f/32
Exposure Correction: +1.0
Shutter Speed: 1/1
Single AF on the A-pillar/mirror

Temperature: 6500
Color Cast Correction: 0.025

Screen Effect: Background Mask
Individual Correction:
Saturation: 100%
Brightness: 500
Contrast: 250
Highlight: 0

Car Effects:
Brightness 120

Hey guys!

I hope you'll like this theme, I think even if it's "limited" to GTA brands it will allow you lot of freedom and maybe let some of you make very original things.

If you have the game it will be easier for you if you want to go for a replica.
There's a lot of race cars in the game, already painted when you buy them, or to be modified at Los Santos Customs or at Benny's Original Motor Works.

By the way, this is why I said "Strawberry and Harmony may be part of your inspiration"

And one of the Los Santos Customs garages is on the Road 68, basically in Harmony, small town in the Grand Señora Desert.

You can find lots of GTA vehicles or brands on the Wiki page, and many decals are available in the game.

@p78 nice one! This is ONE of the hundreds things you guys can do!

But please make it Sport Mode safe if you want to enter this one (no mandatory number though, it's well explained in the OP), because as the last time with my Samba Bus theme I'll download every livery you'll make, and eventually use them while racing so I don't want your job to be totally ruined by the GT panel...

Based off the Massacro (Racecar) I used the Aston Martin DB11, Had to make a few decals such as the ones on the rear, used Car Number - Design - Type 10, BBS rims that slightly matched the ref car, I did not know much about this game or the cars to be honest but I think I got a pretty good copy of it for this LEC.

Probably the most obvious one, with the Dinka NSX ;) well done, the side decal is great!

Cheers! I wanted to do the flame NASCAR thing but I couldn't get it to look right with the Sport mode numberboard, also sticking to my weird rule of using a car I've never used before I wanted to keep the NSX for future themes

Pretty simple design, most of the work was on decals.
I haven't played GTA since Liberty city. I just found a YouTube video that lists cars liveries and pick this one because I really like the sponsor design (and I was too lazy to try the Val de Grace :D)

(edit : I didn't know what "stronzo" means... now I do)

I have just one idea, but I'm 100% sure that it'll show up before I can get the time to do it.

Is there common motorsport supplier brands on the GTA universe? Things like tyres, breaks, oil and fuels and so on?

I've found that Atomic Tire (kinda like Michelin) and Xero Gas (I don't really know about this one) are the common denominator of most liveies in the games. My entry will definitely contain both of those!

Edit: If you guys have found any more "common" brands post them as well!

As said above I didn't want to do a replica so went looking for inspiration when I found a definitely not an F-Type in a Castrol style Blue/red Xero livery. So I took this and ran with it and used another Jaguar that ran a Castrol livery. I've seen that there's lots of crazy cars in GTA, even F1 cars!?!? I colour matched the blue and red and changed secondary sponsors to companies from the GTA universe. A subtle Xero pattern was also added to the blue and was done with individual Xero logos m The driver's names have been changed to that if the GTA V protagonists and the main number to 69 because GTA likes an infantile joke like that.
