The GTPlanet world map 04/16/2014 update

I would like to announce that I am turning over management of this thread to our fine member TB. I am currently working 45 to 50 hours and going to school at night nearly 14 hours a week. At this pace I really can't give this thread the attention it needs. An update once a month is not doing it justice. TB has full control to make any modifications or changes that he sees fit. Please direct any comments and suggestions his way.

Thank you all for playing along and I hope the thread contiunes to grow and that map gets filled in with lots of color.

Brian

Everyone - If anyone has any ideas they'd like to see implemented, I'm all ears.

Diego - Any color preference for your one user per country idea?

Uno - Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that I need to pick up from here, right? I certainly hope so because that's what I just did!

One of the Mods - Is there any way for me to have the first post in the thread so the map can be updated? If that's not an option, I'd like to ask one of you or Uno to edit the first post every once in a while to keep it current. :)

A few color changes and a bunch are right on the cusp of going to the next tier. Keep 'em coming, people!

How about a bit of colour on the sea around USA somewhere so we know how many users there are in the whole country not just each state? And pherhaps the same with the other split up countries.

TB - did I send you the mile-long list of stuff to do?
:p

Good Work on taking this monster over 👍

I know I'll probably be smacked in the face with a huge list, but what other countries are there that are like the US where we are breaking up smaller parcels? I'm not coming up with anything. Unless you're looking to outline continents?

That said, I'll see if I can come up with some kind of outline (and additional color scheme) for the US for the total population. For those interested, we're currently at 126.
Charlotte, North Carolina, USA...
Make that 127. :D

Yes, and erasing New Zealand from the map is at the top of my to-do list for the next update. :sly:

That and frickin' Madagascar.

I'm confident that Uno had everything pretty well nailed down with how to go about it and while it may have been a hopping thread initially, it's obviously slowed down considerably. It shouldn't be too much work to keep current. Unless there's another Belgium barrage! :scared:

I really should have said this in my previous post instead of getting right down to business, but I'd like to thank Brian for starting this off and doing a bang up job on updating it. I'll do my damnedest to keep that going.

Canada + Australia...

Canada + Australia...
Canada, eh? :dunce:

I'll have to think about the continental outline some more...

Currently the rundown is:
Africa - 3
Asia - 19
Australia - 38
Europe - 153
North America - 159
South America - 14
Total - 386
Zad
Count one more from Oklahoma......
In the books. 👍

Don't bother with colored outlines. It would be easier if you just posted a numerical breakdown on the first post, or with each update.

Two more Californians and you level up!

And 388.

I didn't find a way to change the owner of post one.
I see 2 options :

1) UnoMoto replaces the pic in first post by a link to your post (something like that should work : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=125936&page=7#post4061430)

Or
2) you can give the pic a fixed URL (on a personal website for instance), and UnoMoto update the first post to put that URL.

Thanks for checking into that for me, Tedehur. Unfortunately I don't have access to a fixed URL so I guess I'll just need someone to update the first post occasionally.

3) Move one of TBs posts that predates the creation of this thread into this thread so that he effectively made the first post - I believe I have seen this done before somewhere on this site before?

135,000 members, but only 1,500 are active tops. Only 387 happened to come across this thread.

Eh, maybe Jordan should put up a rule for New Members: "Go directly to the GTPlanet World Map and say were you're from! After that, then you are free to be a regular member."

I'm kidding, I doubt TB needs more work..

(or maybe he does...)

Ontario, Canada
Please don't outline continents and group us with the states lol.
