I saw 3 VY SS' this morning while walking to school. A green one, alright, a black one, better and the best IMO is the Silver. If I was buying a new Holden SS or Monaro it would be Silver

I can, I am a Holden fan and dont like Fords (which Holden fan does?) but its true till later this year when they get their new engine.

And the more I look at the rear of the BA, its getting uglier. Cant say that for the front though, especially on the Fairmont

If i were old enough and have enough money to be a SS it would be in Hothouse Green and the Monaro would be in Devil Yellow.

I wouldn't go as far to say that they're getting their "arse kicked", but I will admit that Ford have definitely caught up to Holden somewhat. Even though the GenIII is going out of fashion (and, I might say, imploding in on itself - bloody American engines! ), the Holden will always, in my opinion, be a lot better than the Falcon.

I reckon they should bring back the 308 - stroked and properly tuned, you could take it out to more than 300kW.

Yes, Holden are getting their arse kicked, I hate to say.
Hell, even the SV8 looses out to the 180 odd kw XR6, along with all the other Cdore vs Falcon match. Theres not one Commodore that can beat its Falcon competitor.

But the Astra on the other hand, what a car. Its been around for exactly 5 years now and its still top of the class. Beating the hyped up Focus, Imprezza, Civic and Pug 307 which have all arrived later than it.

And the new Vectra will kick the Mondeo, Mazda 6 and Primeras arse (hopefully)

Yeah, we get a few better cars than you guys. From memory, the only cars you get over us are the Proton line up and Ford Cougar.

Chris - there is no way that Ford are ever going to kick Holden's arse. Falcon may be edging out Commodore, but like you said, we've got Astra and Vectra (and Cruze). So there ya go. Ford goes up in the big car stakes but down in every other stakes.

You've to remeber it only the begain of the year so hopefully holden can get a head in the family car sales

I doubt it seriously. Ford have got their Falcon which, must as it pains me to admit it, is actually ahead of the Commodore in the new technology stakes.

As I stated above, the Boss 260 is generally flogging the GenIII, so don't expect the SS to be anywhere at all.
