The in-game menu doesn't show that my friends are in a room?

Does anybody know why this is?
Its only recently started happening, i have NAT type 2 and 50MB download speed so there shouldn't be any problems.

Are your friends in a private lobby of somebody who isn't friends with you? If yes, then you won't see it.

Nope and ive found out that its only one of my friends that isnt displaying his online lobby. Ive asked him if he is in a privatle lobby and he said no hes in a public one that isnt full?
