Surprised no one in this thread fussed about Melo/Vilander's driving last race. I normally love watching these guys claw their way up the GT field, but dirty driving is a NICE way of putting the way they behaved towards FL...

I agree however I stopped caring when they ran out of fuel on the last lap, a fine enough penalty if you ask me

At least when he drove him to the wall he left him room. FL last year did the same thing but ended in a more dramatic end. Was weird seeing the same exact thing happening this year but this time to FL.

Kinda karma for FLM doing it to Corvette at Laguna IMO and as much as I want to say I wish they had a massive accident as a result too I'm happier that they atleast won on actual pace rather than bumping and barging.

Didn't expect my Lizards to win a race this year seeing how the Porsches seem to be underperforming compared with all the new machines this year! 👍

BTW; The Lizards won last year's Laguna Seca race fair and square as well. The race we're talking about is the 2009 edition. I agree that was a very dirty move, but one can only understand what frustration it must've been handing over the lead in the very last lap. At least they made up for it by giving us an incredible piece of last few laps in last year's race 👍

Seeing it was in the US I had to stay up through the entire night to be able to watch the entire race but it was worth it when Pat Long came across the finish!

Anyone going to the Petit Le Mans next week? Me and the wife should be there by noon Friday. We're camping in the infield. This is my first one... I can't wait!

How I wish to be able to go there too :)

If it's your first time there you'll like to see this. An AWESOME video about last year's edition. It really captures what an Endurance race is all about. There's nothing like it really.

Sooo who's up for some Estoril? Since Audi won't be competing in this one (it seems from the line up) anyone know if it will be televised on eurosport?

Well it isn't ILMC, so Audi (& Peugeot along with others) won't be competing. Really poor entry list to Estoril too, about 27 cars was the last figure that I heard from Midweek Motorsport.

In regards to coverage, I don't think it's on Eurosport but video might well be being streamed from Radio Le Mans site like Silverstone was. But I'm not 100% sure.

As long as my request for friday off gets approved me and my buddy will be making the drive over. Will be my first time there should be a good time.

My friend and I are headed there for Saturday. Friday we are driving down via US 129, The Dragon. Got an infield parking pass, so we will be in there somewhere.

I hope to get a good spot on the back side of the track, across the valley. My friend and I are both used to getting up with babies so we'll be getting there early Saturday morning. I want to get near Turn 6 because that is my favorite spot for pictures.

If you are asking about Estoril then no. There are no TV cameras at the track so no broadcast anywhere at all. Only audio on Radio Le Mans.

Booo don't understand why le mans races get such crap coverage. Didn't sound like a hugely enthralling race in general, but still would have liked to watch it.

I was there yesterday, no time for coments now but I think a couple of pics speak for themselves. Hope you guys like them :)

Nice pics. Thanks.

Let me put some salt on that wound. I got an email that those of us attending Petit Le Mans will have an option to purchase WiFi and ESPN3 has setup remote access so if you get it at home you can watch it from anywhere. So, those of us at the race can watch the TV coverage while standing in the infield.

Luckily I live near a college campus so ESPN3 isn't the problem for me, it's the international races :/

But enjoy actually going to the race! Sounds fun!

And they are calling for perfect weather. High in the mid-70s and lows around 50. I have seen the race in freezing cold temperatures, blazing hot temperatures, floods, and droughts. Less than 50% of the Petits I have seen have been in perfect conditions. I have disposed of clothes stained by red clay dust and red clay mud.

It will be nice to not have to carry a chair because I can sit in the grass without fear.

I'll leave up to the north americans here if Petit Le Mans should have its own thread (Estoril wasn't as important so I just posted here my pics), but if you guys want my vote, I'll vot YES for a dedicated thread. :)

In the meantime, I'll post here a nice onboard video of one lap by Flying Lizard Motorsport's Joerg Bergmeister, posted just a few moments ago (I am a YT subscriber of the official ALMS YT channel so I get warned when they upload new videos).

Enjoy:

Er, race begins 11am EST US time, right? ALMS site says 11PM but that sounds like a huge typo to me.

ESPN3 website says 11am so I think confirming my suspicions.

11.30 AM local time, according to the official site.

There's a countdown there and according to it the race will begin in about 4 days and 30 minutes. So, in MY local time, it'll be 16.30 (same time zone with the UK and Ireland)

Can't wait to be watching this this weekend! Hoping for a Corvette win in GT and since it's really an Audi/Peugeot battle in P1 I'm looking for an Audi win with the Astons the best of the petrol contingent.
