Kicking up leafs when you go off track at Autumn Ring and discovering bouncy cones on the moon!

Being able to list your real name as a driver rather than using your PSN screen name. I always felt like an oddball compared to the AI drivers. :odd: Nice touch. 👍

The blind spot indicators will come in very handy in NASCAR races at Daytona, Indy, and Motegi. In GT5, when we ran NASCAR races, it was a pain in the ass to know if someone was underneath you or not. Unless you had mics and could let each other know, "hey, I'm going low" or "I'm on your right quarter" there would inevitably be crashes due to a car being in your blind spot. I really like this new feature. Kinda like having your own silent spotter.

Bunnies!

I've also noticed that some of the camera angles in the replays are ones from GT4 that weren't in GT5. I don't know if entire replays are the same, but some individual shots are from 4. I've noticed it on Nüburgring and Tokyo so far.

I also like those grass umbrellas on the infield at Ascari. I tried to see if I could clip one and catch it in the bed of the El Camino, but it appears there's an invisible wall keeping objects out of the bed.

I like the realistic trees at Laguna Seca:tup:
And the canopy of branches at the start and just before the wall of death at Goodwood - perfect!!

The sound of the X2011....OMG.....
Did you listen to that thing with a full stereo set?? I just came from the Goodwood challenge with the Redbull and I was content every time I ran off track because then I could hear that snapping and crackling and popping sound at the start again. Wow.

I love the fact that you can add in flat floors to many cars. I discovered in the other category that you can change he mirrors on the new Viper, the sunroof on the Trans Am, and add headlight covers to the Suzuki Cappuccino.

Call me crazy, but the clutch (while using the Acura NSX '91) has improved. I was racing on Matterhorn and it was shifting and down-shifting like a dream. Also, while in replay mode it is possible to switch left and right with the d-pad to see cars beside you.

I never thought I would care about it, but the new skybox at night is amazing. I was driving the Ring last night and just looking up at the stars/planets.

I love how the racing brakes add new brake graphics to the car. Looks so much better in the replays and photomode.

Where you found those? :dopey:

@MrGrado, thank you for creating this thread. With all the negativity around here, this is a breath of fresh air. 👍 I recently made a list for my group showing the improvements that will have a positive effect on our groups' online racing, it's copy/pasted below. It mostly pertains to online racing, but figured this would be a good place to share it.

1. All cars are available in the dealership, no more having to "gift" people cars and having to keep those cars under the trade limit. Should make getting a field of, say, vintage Japanese cars together a lot easier.

2. We can now hold proper qualifying and dictate how long the session is, and it seems to work.
- There is also an option to hide all the other cars during qualifying so you don't get balked by traffic. 👍

3. A results screen is displayed for qualifying, should make for a nice screen shot in a thread.

4. We can make pit stops mandatory and I believe even dictate two tire types.

5. Once you enter the track you are "entered" in the race (unless you uncheck the box) and even if you're in the tuning screen or "watch race" screen when the race starts you'll still be on the grid. So you don't have to scramble to get on the track before the timer runs out. I'm wondering if this also means it holds on to your time when you exit to the lounge instead of resetting it like it did in GT5. But I bet if you uncheck the "entered" box it does clear your time.

6. The timing monitor now shows green (personal best) and purple (overall best) sector and lap times, a very nice addition. It also shows what tires you're on and how many pit stops you've made. I think it might even show when someone is in the pits. You can also change views in the "watch race" screen.

7. Better physics. It's easier to control and correct the cars now, especially under braking. I think this will lead to cleaner racing and more enjoyable races. I think the blind spot indicators will help with cleanliness too, even though they're a little hard to see at times.

8. Shifter karts! Seriously, they're awesome. All the karts are much more enjoyable. But for some reason you can't take them on any time change or weather change tracks, which rules out some good kart tracks (ARM, Tsukuba)

9. Cars don't have to be broken in anymore, but changing the oil right away does still increase PP a little. So buy it, change the oil and take it racing!

10. You can now undo engine/weight/body modifications instead of them being permanent like before. So getting a car into a tuning prohibited race should be much easier.
