At Play-Asia, my order status has changed : since a long time, it was "Preorder / Backorder" (with an old estimated shipping date on or before Dec 06, 2004) ... and now it's "Order received" (ie processing with the credit card authorization).

keep us updated.. would be interesting to see how many days it'll take for the game to arrive in france VV... a week, two weeks..?

spooony
My status says: Preparing order.
And apparently some shops in HK claim that they'll get their shipment on the 26th :)

thats usually the case... we usually get the games a couple of days earlier (I got my MGS3 3 days eariler)... but according to one game shop, Sony HK will not release it earlier than the 28th cuz, supposedly, Kazunori Yamauchi is in town and that they don;t want this 'early-release problem' with him here... anyway, thats just what I heard... but I hope I'm wrong...

with such a big release, shipment will usually need to start 2 working days before release, to ensure all stores have the supply and etailers will normally recieve there stocks a day earlier than that, to turn around the stock for redistribution to customers for release day.

They only release of any kind that Ive worked on, for distribution that didnt happen like that was a Harry potter book, where stocks were held in secure warehousing, till one day before release, when massive amounts of books then had to be moved at great expense, all in one day to be in store for the release next day.
Online etailers recieved their stocks a day before release and had to turn them round the same day for distribution to customers the next day!
This required massive manpower, and a lot of advanced planning to ensure all stocks could be moved an instore for release.

All this was to protect the content from leaking, i dont think GT4 has that kind of worry.

Ya I read that KY will be in HK during the release of GT4 (forgot where I read it though). And I remember reading something about HK being one of his favourite cities in the world 👍

I chose the cheap shipping route from play-asia, so I won't get to play it for about 2 weeks after it gets shipped ... :nervous:

New status at Play-Asia : "Preparing order" ... come on guys !

Lik-sang is "preparing order" from today (28/12) 11.00 CET. Game itself is listed under "shipping now", but my order is still under status described above.

Yessssssssss, me too "order shipped". They updated it about 10 minutes after I posted my initial message !
Ahhhh at least Santa may come before 2005 :dunce:

argh, my Asian version from liksang is still preparing order too, must be going to ship tomorrow I guess! then it should be here in less than a week even with my budget shipping!@$!@$!@, lucky it's not far from Hong Kong to the AU

Same thing here for Play-Asia ... "Order shipped".
Now I must stay behind my window and wait for a man in a little brown truck ... :nervous:

I just checked Play-Asia, my order shows as "Preparing Order"

I hope it goes to "Order Shipped" today !

How long will it take to get to the UK ?

I choose UPS shipping !

How much are you guys paying for importing games?

I can get it relatively cheaper here in Taiwan i think.

So im from estonia, and u cant sign up to paypal if ur from estonia, how do i pay then? (i can only pay with credit card (Mastercard). :/

Tailleur de zon,
Pas d'email, vu sur le site
(No email, saw the status on their website)

1twojay,
Thanks for your offer, if we had knew they had released 1st in Taiwan... Now, it's too late (for me of course). I paid 87 USD with UPS express shipping.
And thank you for all the info you provided to us, poor European fellows :grumpy:

I've asked this before in other threads but don't think I've had a straight answer. Ordering from import sites such as play asia/lik-sang/ebay has anyone in the UK had to pay import duty on imported games etc?

Doesn't neccesarily mean I'm going to buy it as it seems rather expensive (especially with postage which won't take 2 weeks...), but I'm curious all the same.

I imagine they will have to. My dad ordered a game (TS2) from DVD-wow (based in HongKong) and had to pay duty for importing into the EU I think it was.

But he got the money back as the website hadn't stated this.

I'm in the Netherlands, and if I use UPS Express shipping, I always have to pay taxes. But if I use the cheap shipping options, it goes by regular mail and I've never had to pay any import tax yet. That way games end up costing me 45 euro, which is a lot cheaper than buying them here in the shop (60+ euro).

My order at play-asia is also shipping now. Last time I ordered from there (shipping costs $3 there) I got it in a week (7 days). I expect something similar now. The lik-sang order gave a credit card problem, or it would have been shipping too. At lik-sang I took free shipping, but that can really take a while - play-asia is slightly more expensive but always seems to win in that department.

I'll let you know when I have it. Normally I couldn't have waited even an extra day and would have done the same as coyote (UPS Express = two days for me, I got my PSP that way), but I already got that PSP and that's making waiting really easy, Ridge Racers is great, and unfortunately (partly for the same reason) I now have to worry about money, also since I'm fearing I"ll have trouble getting GT4 to run which will probably force me to get a HDD for my PS2 or a chip (I used Swapmagic previously, which has worked great for me with Prologue).

Hmm I don't think its worthwhile for me then. Its annoying having to wait another 2 months though unless I manage to borrow a copy of the Japanese version in the mean while.

I'm still fearing another release date slip...

My Lik-Sang Chinese version is still Pre-Order/Back-Order so I've mailed them to see what's going on. If they don't ship soon I'll order from Play-Asia

It may help if people post when they ordered the game when posting the status...

I ordered mine (JDM version) from Lik-Sang on Dec 20th. Currently showing pre-order/backorder.
