I like comeback kid.

But thats more hardcore than metal. :)

But i find myself revisiting the old style nu metal as of late.. Like disturbed and the like.

Why do you have to post like a douche? People have different tastes man.

Agreed. Bones: your posts don't add to the discussion.. you're not the effing metal police. The only thing you ever really post is "(Insert Band Here) Isn't Metal" I hope you enjoy the only spot on my ignore list. Kthxbye.

btw, Comeback kid kicks ass.

Besides, my post wasnt entirely about comeback kid. Haha..

Either way, respect your GTP elders!

Hehe just kidding.. But i have been here forever and a day. Jeeze!

"the metal thread." discuss metal, not hardcore. i am fairly sure there is a hardcore thread. and i am adding to the discussion. if people who didnt know anything simply came in here asking politely about some good bands to listen to i would help them out. which i have done. or if someone mentioned some bands im into id join in "discussion." instead, people come in and make silly posts about bands that arent metal. LOL guys lets talk about the B-52's. Right. So I told someone that nonpoint isnt metal and comeback kid shouldnt be discussed in the metal thread. thats a bad thing? ****. i guess im a "douche" then. people would get upset if i posted about baseball in a football thread right? stop being so sensitive.

Well, as stated, my post wasn't purely about comeback kid.. I think you're the one making a big deal out of it. Nonetheless i'm not here to argue with you..

How about some Lamb of God? They're pretty metal. And all the albums before they went all non-screamy were great.

im not trying to argue either.

and i cant say i like lamb of god. their old stuff wasnt bad but it never impressed me enough to make me want to listen more. the only metalcore bands that really stuck with me are darkest hour, all out war, few left standing and older underoath. not the same as lamb of god, i know, but the metalcore umbrella is pretty large. i love converge, but i have a hard time classifying them as metalcore.

Converge is okay.. i think i classify them more as thrashcore or something. i dunno haha.

Nonetheless, i love lamb of god.

Close follower is Zao.

Well, I don’t know what type or what genre this band is. I already searched about it, and I found different results.
Some say they are Hardcore, others Metalcore and Nintendocore(?). For me, it looks like more of a Math Metal – that is a very heavy metal with jazz riffs breakdowns – but this band don’t have jazz riffs breakdowns, it has Nintendo riffs breakdowns.

I’m talking about: Horse, the Band. It is the most crazy, creative, inspiring, ironic, crazy (again?), spectacular and awesome band I ever heard. That is madness, pure madness.
And I saw some live videos, and wow, how I would wish to go to one of they’re shows.

There is plenty of videos on YouTube. I especially like and am addicted to the Bunnies music and the million exploding suns. It is just a plain awesome band

The problem is not whether you said it's the wrong thread or not, it's the way you said it. The apparent attitude behind the post. And it's not just that post, it's many others. It seems you're always willing to argue and/or attack anyone for posting bands that you don't consider to be Metal.

A non-argumentative post would've been something like "I don't think they're metal. I don't like them either", and that would've probably opened a bit the topic about people liking them or not and considering them metal or not.

But hey, I'm not here to telly ou what to do.

On topic:
Anyone heard Becoming The Archetype?

Death Metal with some metalcore... a bit too -core at times for my taste, but they do have some good epic 13-minute songs.

Ok, they are maybe Hard Rock, but this music is truly remarkable. I think it is impossible to someone (inner Metal scene) to not like it

Tenacious D – The Metal

Tenacious D is awesome. A lot of their songs are actually good songs with funny lyrics.

Moving back to metal, Meshuggah's Spasm is awesome. If you're into guitars tuned down to E.

(In other words it will asplode your head.)

I never really was into the metalcore. I like bands from the thrash era and closely surrounding periods. Eg:

Annihilator
Anthrax
Megadeth
Slayer
Metallica
Exodus
Testament
Overkill
Sepultura
Pantera
Machine Head
Judas Priest
Iron Maiden
Celtic Frost
Hellhammer
I'm also starting to get into the German Thrash (Kreator, Destruction, etc) But that stuff isn't so easy to find.

I do like Lamb Of God. Sacrament was a good album. Arch Enemy also have their moments.

And has anyone heard of Mastery?

replace pantera and machine head with venom, cryptic slaughter, nuclear assault and whiplash and i will back that list.
