gtavcfan -- Van Halen are "Rock". I would personally call half of their music Pop Rock, but they are definately Rock.

icemanshooter23 -- (Man it's just easier to type Ben. Nile aren't bringing out a new album, but Karl Sanders is bringing out his own Solo Album. Doesn't look too bad.

Does anyone like Superjoint Ritual?
SuperJoint Ritual aren't too bad, but after a few songs I have to put it down and find something else to listen to. Can get boring quickly.

Also, I hate Phil Anselmo. I've probably said this tons of times, but he's an absolute ****. He calls everyone of his bands the "heaviest mother-****ckin' band on the planet" and always downgrades Pantera. He also makes stupid comments. For example, the crowd was bored with SJR at a concert, and they were absolute crap, so they just stood there, bored. Phil's comment to the crowd: "If you stand with your arms crossed you're gay."

As for Atreyu, Emo-Metal or whatever Genre they're making up now is just crap. Heavy Emo would be more appropriate. It's just making the name Metal less distinctive and more confusing. Lamb of God are an excellent band. Ashes of the Wake is one of my favourite albums at the moment. Slipknot would be better with less to no soft singing.

You can not say "Hero Of The Day" sucks.

Actually, I can, since I think it is one of their worst songs(if not the worst).

Their most recent song that I like is "No Leaf Clover". I don't think they came out with anything good after that.

In my own personal opinion, I don't think they came out with anything good after the Black Album apart from one song: Fuel.

Load and Reload are some of my favorite albums. the stuff from the 80's was the best, but you can't say that they sucked ass after Black album. St. Anger was horrible, Worst album I ever bought, but S&M Garage Inc. And Load/Reload were awesome. And I still listen to them reguarally. I would like to see a new album, because Metallica is getting more creative. I liked how in Load/Reload they experimented with different types of music. You can not say "Hero Of The Day" sucks. It is one of my favorite songs. It is where you can see Metallica is not like other metal bands and are willing to try different things. Garage Inc. had some really cool covers. like Whiskey In THe jar. And Die,Die,Die My Darling, which you wouldn't appreciate since it was origionally by the Misfits. But Todays metal bands are not really up to par with the vets. (Metallica, Anthrax, MegaDeath, Motley Crue, ect. ect.)

But anywho..... Does anyone like Superjoint Ritual? They are awesome. And I think there should be more bands like Atreyu. Lamb Of God is awesome too. And I think that Slipknot is way underrated.

Load/Reload... 👎 👎
Whiskey in the jar... C'mon, seriously, it isn't even metal... 👎 👎

Motley Crue???... I hope you don't call that hair band crap metal...

Atreyu... Emo metal garbage, in my opinion... I am very sad that emo, punk, and metal are being fused together...

Jimmy is right... After (and even durring) black album they went downhill fast... 👎 👎

Slipknot underrated??... They're extremely popular... How is that underrated?...

Superjoint Ritual... 👍 👍

Lamb of God... 👍 👍

OK, I'm done...

As am I. Very sad.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Hair Metal would be the word. Actually classed as "Heavy Metal" sadly enough, But alot of 80's bands were classed as Metal just like that, for example: Iron Maiden.

Superjoint Ritual... 👍 👍
To a certain extent...3 songs of them and I've had enough for half a year to be honest. Very repetitive and boring.

Yeah, I live in Seattle.

It's always a pleasure to meet fellow NW metal heads...

I was just down in Seattle for a week (Magnolia to be exact), watching a friends apartment... I was skateboarding everyday down at the base of Pikes Place Market (all the way down the stairs) across the street from the waterfront (nicknamed "The Dungeon")...

BTW, are there any good concerts coming up that I should know about?...

;)

Has anyone been taking a look at this new "Tommy Lee goes to College/High School" thing? It looks funny. Tommy Lee is a doofus, but that's what'll make the show funny. I just know it's going to be all "Shut up old man" and smoking weed, etc.

Cool, thanks, by the way the only concert in the Seattle Area is the Jagermeister on Dec. 10. Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Mastadon I basically live down by Columbia City, near MLK street.
Actually there are many concerts in Seattle, but thats from every genre, I'm only interested in the Rock, and Metal Concerts (Punk too)

Good to meet you too dude.

Oh man... I would love to see Slayer and Mastodon... That sounds like a great concert... I wish I wasn't so poor right now...

Luckily you'll make it to the concert, its not till December 10. I'm going to the concert not just for Mastadon or Killswitch Engage, I"m going to the concert to see my favorite band: Slayer

Slayer and Mastadon would be great to see. KSE, I don't care much for. "Emo Metal". That genre makes me sick. At least they could've called it Heavy Emo or something.

Mastadon - "Leviathon", their latest album, wasn't too bad.

Hey, stop saying Mastadon! It's Mastodon. ;)

I am lucky enough to have watched them live (they played before The Haunted or Opeth, I'm not quite sure now...). In fact, I didn't know them before the concert but liked them straight away. They are awesome.

I just got "Leviathan" and it's very different from "Remission". I was a bit shocked at the beginning, but it's starting to grow on me now. I think I'll love it as well.

Hey, stop saying Mastadon! It's Mastodon.
Hmm. I always thought that was how it was spelled. Shoot! It's on my damn CD spelt that way!

Jimmy's Opinions:
Opeth = 1/10
The Haunted = 6/10

I don't mind The Haunted, but quite repetitive. Opeth are definately not my cup of tea though.

Also, I don't love Leviathan, but I find it okay. Took me a couple of listens to adjust, too.

I understand what you're saying.

When I think of The Haunted, I'm usually talking about their first album. That album, for me, is a masterpiece. It's like 'The (contemporary) Metal Album'.

Shame on you. :p

Haha yeah. I need The Haunted's first album. I've heard everyone except for that one. I know. Shame on me for not having it. Could you give me the name of it please? I'm kind of busy right now (never too busy for GTP though 👍 ).

And Opeth just aren't my cup of tea, so I don't feel any shame for that!

Of course you don't.

The Haunted's first album is actually self entitled.

Its cover:

I disagree with your posts on superjoint ritual Jimmy Enslashay, i think phil summed it up about the current metal scene in an interview i read previously "There's no band like us right now. Everybody sounds the same, you know," If your content with listening to your boring metal each to his own, but as soon as i bought my copy of use once and destroy i ended up throwing out all my other cds that night, i knew that this was the new wave of metal. This cd destroys me everytime i listen to it and it will never get old. Phil is a lyrical and guitar god he has a no compromise and non sellout image compared to some of the garbage you have been talking about

"There's no band like us right now. Everybody sounds the same, you know,"
How about his quotes: "I can kick each and every terrorist's ass single handedly" or "If you stand with your arms crossed you're gay"? Phil is drugged up to the eyeballs and is heading in the direction of the next Ozzy Osbourne. If he doesn't overdose.

And boring metal? Do you even know what I listen to? The Haunted are Hardcore, I hardly touch this genre. Try Death Metal, Grindcore, Tech Metal, Thrash, Black Metal (a select few bands), Heavy and Sewer. Makes SJR seem boring. I'll be glad to list you most of my 330 albums in Notepad form to show you some areas of quality.

please go ahead its a known fact that phil is in best shape that he has been in years, i think your just scared of SJR uncompromising image and ability to create complex music thats violent and aggressive. HankIII is one of the most talented guitarists along with phil, phils voice is hatefull and agressive and has a distinct tone. I think all other metal bands should quit except for SJR because they rule

It would suck if all metal bands except for SJR quit. Instead there should be more. Slayer rules dude. Rock On!

i think most of the metal bands these days sound the same, SJR are doing something original you should check them out they are pure metal for the true underground

Care to explain how they are so original instead of just saying they are the geatest over and over?

The aggression, lyrics that deal with touchy subjects. Give them a listen its truely amazing nothing has moved me this way

I have songs by Superjoint Ritual, actually music videos.

Look man, I think we know you like SJR. If you don't like anything else, keep it to yourself seeing as though you can't make a mature opinion about anything what-so-ever.

Sending hate-PMs to me doesn't work, consider that 1 of 2 warnings from me. If I get a second PM like this, I will report you.

Have a nice day.
