Well I'm only going on limited experience, but the most HP I've seen so far is that 89 toyota race car, with a little over 1200. I haven't gotten an escudo yet though.

Yeah but what about the gillet. It has in stock form little over 900 HP :)

I don't think the Gillet gets much over 1000Bhp fully tuned though I haven't seen a modded Escudo yet but I reckon that will be the most powerful, it's the most powerful car in acarde mode when you mess with the power settings.

I havent got the Escudo yet but i think it comes stock at at around 950hp. I've got te Nissan Race Car, Sauber C9 and TVR Cebera Speed 12 al around 1130hp.

escudo only gets up to 1100 hp, and when you reach 233mph, for some reason it tells you to shift down a gear, and you cant go any faster, so the escudo isnt all that great, and yes i put the transmission all the way on wide, if you leave it on the default level, it only goes 217mph.

I don't really like the Escudo at all - it is worthless to me. :)

Which car has the most torque? ;) I heard the Jay Leno Tank Car has a pretty decent amount of torque! :)

actually, the jay leno tank cars torque is -- and it never does reveal what it is . . . . .

anyways, what car did you guys beat the f1's with in the racing series, keep in mind i dont have the f1 yet.

not sure, i havent even started extreme hall yet because I can't understand the regualtions for one of the races in Professional or European Hall................................. :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

For the F1 series, id probably just use my standard F1 car that u win for 24hr endurances.

The following cars are in their stock form

By Power:

Suzuki Escudo Dirt Trial Car - 995 PS
Gillet Vertigo Race Car - 910 PS
Polyphony Formula Gran Turismo - 903 PS
TVR Cerbera Speed 12 - 811 PS

By Torque:

Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG (R230) - 102.00 kgf.m
Suzuki Escudo Dirt Trial Car - 95.00 kgf.m
TVR Cerbera Speed 12 - 89.86 kgf.m
Mercedes-Benz SL 600 (R230) - 81.60 kgf.m
Buick Special - 81.00 kgf.m

I got the Ford GT up tp 275mph pretty easy. I did make the Chevy Concept truck up to just under 900hp (around that) not bad for a truck. Next I am gonna mod the Ford Lightning...

Okay I'm not exactly sure on the name, the Mercedes cars are all so close it gets confusing but I think it's called the "SL65 AMG". It's a sweet convertible, especially with the nice chrome rims I put on, it looks really exotic, and with 956 HP, it's peppy too.

Power is nothing without control. Talking about power is like judging the color of bread. it can look tasty, but can taste like sh**! Who needs 1200HP if the car is unsteerable!

well the power/weight -ratio is obviously the biggest factor in straight line speed. It's very track dependent whether a high power car is beneficial or not. Admittedly upgrades enhancing aerodynamical or mechanical traction can be unbelievably effective on twisty tracks.

My best power to weight ratio is in my RX-7. I'm unsure of the specific model but the Power to Weight ratio is 1.535

i think this thread was about hp...not witch car is fastest on track..like in gt3 escudo could produce 1400 horsepowers but it was totaly crap on track..

live4speed
In GT3 the Escudo could get 1800Bhp.
But couldn't turn for love nor money. :yuck:
I remember having a race on super speedway with my friend. I'd told him the escudo was the best car so he chose it and ended up dropping the controller when it tried to jump out of his hand. Turns out traction control had turned itself off and the car was wheelspinning until the redline in fifth.

what does the esprit get up to in this game in gt3 it was up there as one of the most powerful road cars
I loved that car in GT3. I just got it ungraded (ELotus Espirt 02 normal) in GT4 this mourning, i like its got close to 900 hp, but not even close to the nearly 1200 i got out of it in GT3. It Dissapointed me. I still gotta test it out, the car still should be good tho.

i made the escudo do sub 1 minute laps in GT3 at midfield...pretty fun to drive if you know how to tune, hits 250mph in the straight. Kinda dissapointing in GT-4, i was hoping to SMASH like gt-3 with 1800 hp, but oh well.

It is called an SL65 AMG, and it's one of the best cars so far for me.

I've had the Toyota Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car ('89) up to 331MPH on the test track (ride height all the way up, no ASM/TCS, spring rates/shocks all the way down, minimum downforce).

I have won the Polyphony Formula Gran Turismo ('04) and it DOES have THE best power/weight ratio in the game. To be honest, it does handle better than the Toyota Minolta Toyota 88C-V, but I get very similar track times with both cars. So, the easiest obtainable car would be by far the Toyota Minolta Toyota 88C-V. My 2¢.

so far the minolta 88c-v does have the highest hp... i have a thread in the write-ups awaiting more submissions of top HP cars... as for best overall.... i'm not sure.... the formula is alright, i haven't had a chance to fiddle with the sauber/speed8/787b/mclaren f1 .... i really like the r92 with r1's out back and r3's up front with +4/0 toe, and dropped a few mm ....
